A:  The connector will be taped to the wire harness near the right side of the unit. It may be pulled under the seat support bracket or more toward the engine, so you may have to look around a bit. A:  Yes it fit my Model 75742 ( 42" Toro Timecutter. There maybe a plastice cover over the cutout near the throttle.

A:  It has a small battery that keeps a memory. If you disconnect the battery it doesn’t reset your hourmeter to 0.

A:  I do not see a place to install a batter in the meter.. I disconnected the meter from the cable for 5 minutes and the hours continued to show. I will assume there is a capacitor holding a charge to keep the hours reading and maintained if you take the battery out or the batter is low. I record the hours so if the hour meter does drop the hours I will still have a record of the last time it did record. Answer: Yes, when you disconnect the Hour meter Yes it still holds the time. (how long I am not sure) I would check with the hour meter company.
