A:  Thanks for your question. We're just backordered on Sedona, it has not been discontinued. It should be available the first week of May and then you'll be able to order on homedepot.com.

      by|Apr 18, 2020

A:  They stopped carrying it in the store but it can still be ordered online and shipped to store or home.

        by|May 17, 2020

A:  Should be... I purchased some as little as a few weeks ago at local Home Depot. The box colors and design were changed a while ago which caused me to ask same question when didnt find it at first.

          by|Jul 10, 2020

A:  For some reason the vendor has selected to not distribute it to most sites and instead requires online purchase.

A:  It is recommended to use a special cleaner, for best results, and not compromise the finish. I use (Bellawood hardwood floor cleaner) for hardwood, laminate, and vinyl flooring. Was recommended by flooring Co.

A:  Thanks for your question. A pH neutral cleaner works best. Zep and OdoBan both make a neutral cleaner that's available at most every Home Depot.

Q:I have installed this tile in a large kitchen with great results even after 2 years. But it was installed over an existing very smooth vinyl tiled floor. I would like to now install it over a rougher floor, with somewhat more extreme temperatures in a sun porch, hoping that the small width of the porch will allow for easy floating and not separate the joints too much in colder weather. My concern is with those people reporting that the joints are lifting at the corners. Could an uneven surface of the floor underneath be the actual cause of this? Should I use some kind of underlayment before installing these in the sun porch?

                          Answer This Question

A:  I installed it in my kitchen years ago. That's why I also put it in my family room. I have never had a problem at all with separating. The only thing is in the kitchen after many years when I look at an angle I can see where some of my nail heads in the sub flooring can show through. Still I would recommend this product.

                          by|Apr 9, 2020

A:  As with any floating floor it's imperative the subfloor be level and clean. When we prep a floor we first wash it with vinegar and water solution, then we use dry wall mud to fill in cracks and low spots. One of the advantages of grip strip is you don't get the contractions and expansions as with the click boards. We've yet to have clients complain about corners lifting.

A:  I would use a thin plywood underlayment. That should take care of any problems.

                            by|Aug 2, 2020

A:  The directions say to use at least a liquid underlayment over the rough floor, to smooth over the surface gaps (hills and valleys) and make it level for the adhesive to stick to it. I tore up the existing linoleum and sanded the plywood underneath to make it smooth. A lot of work but worth it, the planks have been great and no lifting.

A:  Thank you for your question- allure is for interior installations and only in temperature controlled environments. DO NOT INSTALL allure over carpets, or any foam underlayment. This product is not suitable for any outside use, sunrooms/solariums, saunas, seasonal porches, camping trailers, boats, RV's, or any room with the potential of flooding. Avoid long term exposure to direct sunlight.

A:  You "can" but you shouldn't. If you cut it into 12x12 pieces they will buckle because there will be no overlap adhesive strip on 2 of the resultant pieces.

A:  I don't see why it couldn't as one has to cut/trim pieces to fit various room sizes. It just goes a lot faster with the 1x3 ft planks. You might also ask Home Depot flooring.

                                            by|Apr 2, 2020

A:  Thanks for your question. You cannot/should not cut the tile unless you're butting the cut piece up to the wall/cabinet/etc. If you cut the Sedona, the cut edges will not have an adhesive strip and will not be able to be attached to the tile beside it.

A:  I would say that you can't. They're too brittle.

A:  Thanks for your question. The easiest way is to slightly heat the planks with a blow dryer or heat gun. This makes the plank a little more pliable and easier to make any type of non-straight cut.

A:  One way is to try and find proper size template like a plate, a can, a cover etc. Another way is to make a pattern with construction paper & scissor pretty much by trial & error.

A:  Are you asking how to cut a radius or arc? You can scribe (compass) or trace (paper pattern) the circle onto the tile, cut it partway through with a utility knife, then use a pliers to bend and pull away the unwanted area. Take it slow and practice on a scrap first.

You cannot bind the planks down by sliding them under the metal strip. You'll need to use a t-molding or reducer where the planks end. You can find Sedona coordinating pieces here: https://www.homedepot.com/s/sedona%2520vinyl%2520zamma?NCNI-5

A:  Gently pry up the existing metal strip. Try to lift where the nails are. Lay out the new tiles and come as close to the carpet as you can -- at least as far as the old tiles reached. Then replace the metal strip.

A:  My son-in-law laid this for me in a bathroom that had linoleum on it. The living room joins it and is carpeted. He took up the metal strip in the doorway and then when he got the flooring laid, he put the strip back. There was no carpet tack strip there.

                                                              by|Mar 1, 2020

A:  Jen, those metal strips that transition between types of flooring need to be pulled up before you lay the tile. They are attached with spiral nails that you can pull up with a claw hammer. After you lay the tile (which you can run right up to the carpet), you can either re-nail the strip back down, or get a new one. If you are referring to a narrow wooden strip with tacks sticking up under the carpet edge, that needs to come up too, if you are going to tile over that area. That is called Tackless and must be pried up. Use an old flat screwdriver and old putty knife. Hope this helps.
