Q:I am replacing wood in part of a damaged ceiling. The surface of the current wood is slightly rough not smooth. Matching surfaces on the new wood is the goal. We will need to match a stain too. Can the surface be roughened (wire brush)?

A: Sean, These boards themselves will not support the weight of a TV. However, the TV brackets should hit a stud(s) and should follow where the boards are installed on studs as well.
