Q:I see stainless steel and hot dip galvanized as recomended fasterners, but HD sells big boxes of Aluminum 8d nails. Wouldn't aluminum also work well on this material ... or not?
by|Oct 14, 2020

Answer This Question

A:  It depends on what you are going to nail it to. If you had an older home (1940 on back) and you were going to nail this type of Trim or even wood trim that you buy, to it, Aluminum Nails would not work, nor the steel nails you by today, unless you drilled a Pilot hole first. But if you are working with today's, Wood, Framing or Trim, Aluminum, should work well.

Q:What would be the best " Board to use as a fence panel, outdoor"?

      Answer This Question

A:  Great question! Although our PVC Trim is manufactured to be used outside, it is a non-weight bearing product. There would need to be some type of support for our product to be used in this manner. We recommend using a product made specifically for fencing. Thank you. Inteplast Building Products

        by|Sep 5, 2019

A:  You can Purchase PVC Door frames, both exterior and Interior, Check with your Home Depot Sales person in the Building Department. But you could build your on frame, by using either a double 2" x 4" or 2" x 6" studs to nail it to, Plus you would need to add a stop mold along with it. Plus what ever type of trim on each side.

A:  Thank you for your question Benjamin. Our PVC Trim is a non-structural, non-weight bearing product. It cannot be used AS the frame for your door. It can be used as trim ON your door. If you have any further questions please contact us. Inteplast Building Products

            Answer This Question

A:  What he meant to say is yes you can, as long as there is a subfacia that the board is mounted to anyway (like most times). Just make sure the gutters are anchored through this product into the subfacia and it will be fine.

A:  yes and no jt. these pvc boards are great for facia and trim. will never rott. but they are a like a soft wood meaning if you use just gutter nails, they will become loose quicker than normal. but if you use gutter screws and use long enough to go through the gutter, pvc board and into the 2 by 4 stud. it works great.
