A:  It can but would recommend placing it undercover where it will not get rained on. It is open on the bottom back where the compressor sits. It does have a tendency to frost up quickly with humidity levels outdoors this maybe a problem. We use ours indoors for beer and white wine and keep it at 36 most of the time. We have has ours for few years now and with regular defrosting we have had no trouble.

A:  If you're installing it under a counter I found that putting a small fan in the back of the unit keeps the compressor cooler and most likely extends to life of the unit.

A:  This unit is not able to interchange hinges for the door from right to left. This unit is only able to have a right hand hinge swing.

A:  Yes, the door is reversible swing.
