Works great to keep rain out but lets very little air in

air doesn’t move through double layers very well and didn’t remove the neighbors dryer vent smells.

My single hung window opening is 36” wide so I had great expectations for this filter. However, the unit does not fully extend to 36” because one of the sliding sections overlaps the other. They either need to make it wider or advertise it as opening up to 35”. It’s also very thick so cool air needs to come from somewhere else if the room is hot. I wish I could figure out a way to use it as a filter for my dual window fan.

No mention of how to clean or when to replace. Charcoal is falling out and we had a small fire nearby and it did nothing to filter the smoke.

A breeze (pun intended) to use. Our house is very tight and I have been looking for something just like this to filter out dust/pollen when I open windows and exhaust house air with bathroom and kitchen vents. I want a few more. Please restock this item.

The filtration level is excellent but for me I might as well leave my windows closed. The intention here is great but the filtration level gives almost no level of recirculation unless you have a fan pulling the air from inside to out. Just doesn't work for me. I ordered 2 thinking that I can put them in opposite sides of the house to circulate but doesn't do it for me.

It's a very good product. It serves my need.

Purchased to help survive fire season. It worked best with a fan nearby to suck the air through the window. Without the fan the air trickles in slowly.

I live in a dust bowl and when I open the windows, I literally have to vacuum the window sill! These are awesome. I actually put it in with my screen. Only air comes through.

The activated carbon passive window screen / purifier is exactly as described. Great for those, like me, who have pollen allergies. I purchased these for a filter type window screen, and it fully met my expectations. It allows fresh air to enter for ventilation and filters it as it flows through. It naturally restricts a breeze somewhat as it's more restrictive than an open screen, but that's what it is supposed to do - filter the air. The activated charcoal also reduces outside odors. I saw some reviews which claimed that the charcoal did not cover 100% of the surface area, and that they could see light through it. Well duh! It's a window screen which also filters the air.. Obviously those making that claim have no idea how activated charcoal works. It absorbs minute particulates and odors. If it were a solid wall of charcoal, no air would pass through. I was a little skeptical about the claim that it blocked rain from passing through, but it does. I have never removed the screen since placing it in the window, and during some very heavy downpours, no rain passed through the screen. I'm thoroughly satisfied with this screen / filter. I use them in renovated attic rooms that get very hot in the summer months. The rooms are only used for storage, and occasional utility use, but they need to be ventilated. This window screen / filter is just perfect for my purpose. They are proudly made in the USA!

Seems to help with my children’s allergies

Fairly sturdy. Do keep the rain and pollen out. Tend to blow down in a stiff wind. Have to really clamp the window down, and then these flex a bit. Overall, like them and will be getting more.

Glad I bought two bigger ones to filter the bad air from neighbor’s laundry room while still having some air flow.

I bought this even after reading reviews saying how little air flow there is. We assumed those who said this didn't also have an exhaust fan blowing out in the same room like we do. That's how we cool our upstairs bedroom: 1 fan in one window pointed to exhaust out, and one window open to let in cool outside air. Works great for cooling, and only problem is all the wood smoke from neighborhood backyard fires. (STOP USING WOOD BURNING FIRE PITS PEOPLE!!!) We wanted this to help with the nighttime smoke issues, and maybe it would help, but we won't ever know. Our room did not cool down enough with this in the window to allow us to sleep in the room. The advice to "keep the filter in the window a few hours because eventually enough air will enter the room to feel a breeze" doesn't work when you need to go to sleep and it's too hot because there's no cool air coming in. We took this out, and voila, instantly, all that cool nighttime air came rushing in. Like I said, keeping the window shut would have done the same thing. Disappointing.

It keeps pollen from coming in but does Not allow much air to come in either

I use it in a window for a room in my house I will call a "home office" a nice desk top computer is located not far from a window. I feel comfortable now to have the window open with the Window Air Purifier installed it just seems cleaner and safer for the computer. I was happy to read replaced filters are available not having to replace the frame all the time is a plus.

This window screen is great. Made extremely well and it does allow air through. It will hold a cat from getting out as well. Love it!

Fresh air is only moment away!With easy install of slide and lower window, this filtration offers excellent coverage.If your outside air is at a standstill, turn on your external air exit fan. This could be a range hood, etc. My sinuses opened up in short order, with the bonus of natural fresh air in out living area.Thank you for allowing us not to be afraid to open a window!wjg

Great product

This filter has made breathing inside (while still allowing some airflow) so much nicer. It does reduce the airflow that comes in, but what does come in is nicer to breathe. Less allergy problems, and most importantly, no smoke smell from the neighbors.

No problem in putting into the window.No more black dust from the outside.Will see if and how long this holds up.

Doesn't let air through. Might as well keep the window closed!

So far, this seemed to work very well for me. I use it in my bedroom to keep oxygen flowing, CO2 levels down, and hopefully to keep allergens from my nose. So far, I've been able to sleep and wake up with a lot less congestion than in the past. I believe it's working as advertised!
