With a 12" rough in, the entire toilet will end up sitting about 3.25" away from the wall. The slim design of the tank is the culprit. If anyone sits down & leans back (putting pressure on the tank), you will have a big problem. No measurement in specs.

I bought three of these toilets, plus three non-electric Bidet Seats. The new interior finish on the toilets keeps them very clean. Good flush and quiet refilling of the tank. Love the Bidet Seats; wish I had known about these years ago. Nice slow-close lid, too.

If you have a tight space that you need to fit a full size toilet in, this Cadet 3 series from American Standard with the 10 inch rough in will fit your needs. The 10 inch rough in means your floor flange can be closer to the wall than the standard 12 inch rough in. Those two inches can mean the difference between fitting a toilet in the space or not. Assembly of the tank to the bowl is very simple. American Standard provides all the hardware you need for assembly and everything bolts together by hand. The seal between the tank and bowl is well formed and the gasket, along with the hand tightened nuts hold fast. They also include the wax seal and the bolts to mount this toilet to your floor flange. What is odd is that they do not include a toilet seat. In this price range, I think that a seat should be mandatory. The bowl bolts to the flange quickly and easily. The included brass flange bolts with retainers and plastic finger tight bolts work well, and will not rot together like all metal assemblies. They were sturdy and held the bowl in place with no wobbles. Once the bowl is in place and level you can attach the tank, and the nuts to hold the tank are assembled with very well thought out included hand wrenches, which automatically come off once the tank bolts are tight enough. It creates a firm wiggle free connection. Assembly is a 10 out of 10. To complete connection to your plumbing you'll need a standard toilet water supply line in the specific length for your installation. I enjoy the taller bowl height of this model. Anyone that is taller or has issues standing up from a regular height toilet will find this style most comfortable. Shorter people and kids may take a bit getting used to, but it's not so high as to deter use or be uncomfortable. Comfort level during use is 8 out of 10. Push the handle down and the toilet flushes with a very strong stream of water, and clears the bowl of all contents. It has a high flush rating and I would agree with the manufacturers claims on that. The most important thing about a new toilet is how it flushes. No one wants a toilet backing up and this one doesn't seem like it ever will. It really sends the contents down with some force. If you need extra flushing power, just hold the handle down for a bit and it sends extra water to get the job done. Nothing backwashes. I give this feature a 10 out of 10. The Powerwash feature has not lived up to it's claims on our bowl. It flushes with good force, and you can see the water washing around the entire inner surface of the bowl, but it doesn't clean itself off any better than the toilet it replaced. I'd give this a 4 out of ten. All the inner flush valves, flapper are Fluidmaster brand. A brand we all know and trust. They work well and refill the tank quickly and very quietly. Overall I do enjoy this new toilet. The extra powerful flushing force is most welcome and lives up to the hype it's given by American Standard. I would recommend this toilet to anyone needing a quality toilet with a small rough in spacing and that require or just enjoy a taller seat height.

This toilet is great. It comes included with the floor bolts, wax ring, tank bolts, & all the innards. The only thing that is not included is a seat. American standard makes the installation of their toilets so simple. It comes with the wrenches to tighten the tank bolts. It also comes with these neat little nuts, although they aren't really nuts, that hold the floor bolts upright so they don't flop over while you're trying to place the toilet over them. The nuts that secure the toilet to the floor at giant plastic things that you just tighten with your hands. Don't be scared away because they are plastic. They do a great job and shouldn't get stripped unless you really try to make that happen. Installation takes less than 45 minutes even for a first timer. The flush power is good and I have not had any problems with it. The seat sits higher than regular toilets, which makes it much more comfortable. Overall: 1. Easy installation 2. Performs well 3. Looks good

My small master bathroom is the length of three toilets side by side, after the tub. A picture is worth at least two paragraphs in showing how the sleek appearance and white finish make the room larger. This is my restoration bathroom without running water, even with an installation I couldn't tell you how it flushed. I have a wall repair and some painting to do, there will be more wall visible, before I install it. Very pleased with the quality. As the daughter of someone who was in property management, I generally choose to install brands in this home that already have a solid reputation, saving risk with items that are not permanent. This will be my 2nd toilet installation alone. I attended a few home depot bathroom seminars before my first installation. It passes my checklist for arriving with items needed. I photographed the page of the Installation Instructions that show what is and what is not included. The ring for installation is included. You can purchase rings from $3 to $10 some that guarantee to fit, this is a cheap version. Would have rated the value a five if it had included the toilet seat. My last toilet included the seat. Added value, no joke. My boxes were packaged with a large amount of molded foam and included a corrugated flat cardboard pad that my cats are enjoying with catnip.

This Cadet by American Standard is very high quality toilet. The instructions were very easy to follow. I only needed a friend to lift the seat while I made sure the screws went in the little holes. The rest was done in a jiffy. It was shipped with all parts, except the toilet seat and water supply line. Also sold at Home Depot for a reasonable price. I'm excited to see if the "EverClean" works I'm sure it will being a American Standard toilet. Since, I just installed it today can't tell you how the water pressure will be. It seems to be flushing correctly If you need a good working, long lasting and sleek toilet go with this Cadet 3.

This toilet has a great comfortable height. Not like the one I replaced feeling like I was almost sitting on the floor. The flush is powerful which will make less cleaning. The water consumption is a lot less than the one I replaced. This toilet takes up less space than my old one which will make cleaning around the toilet lot easier.

Toilet was easy to install, with everything but the seat included. It has a good, powerful flush. The only issue I have with it is that the tank sweats when it is humid in the bathroom, such as after a shower, where my old toilet never did that.

Install would have been okay if the flange wasn't rusted. But didn't know about the 10inch rough in. Expert now! And if you don't know, the stores push you into elongated. Even for sm. bathroom. Not one round, right height, 10 in. in store, Have to send for and the price goes rocketing! They need to do something about that. Little bathrooms need smaller fixtures. Round toiles are any where from 2.5 to 3 inches less in space and the 10inch rough in! Make sure you know about that before purchasing!!! That is a real deal breaker,.So glad other bath room was a 12 inch! And needed a toilet as well!! Other than that so far so good. Only in 1 week. We shall see!

I ordered this toilet, Standard Cadet 3 powerwash, through the Home Depot assistant. It was to be shipped to store. Way after arrival time, 1 of 2 boxes arrived to the store. The second box was lost in transit. It took 3 months for Home Depot to contact me about the matter. This toilet is now out of stock and I'm not happy with Home Depot or American Standard.

This American Standard toilet performs beyond my expectations. It truly needs only one flush and is quiet. The linen color is exactly what I wanted. I am extremely pleased with the Cadet 3!!

This is a really good compact toilet! It flushes well, and I like the taller seat height.

Better than expected

Not many toilets will fit a 9" rough in. Look at the spec sheet before you purchase any toilet. Some of the negative reviews on here are user-error. Spec sheet shows a 10" rough in with a nominal 1-1/8" gap between the wall and rear of toilet. One small note: a thin, black scuff/mark (about 1" long) was found on the front of the bowl part of the toilet which didn't come off when attempting to clean. The toilet works well and flushes strong. A huge improvement. I would highly recommend.

I am very happy with the American Standard toilet. Good flush even with lower water usage. Also quiet flush and refill. The only thing I noticed is there’s one spot in the bowl where matter may not get flushed away totally. Therefor the 4 star rating

Some flaws in finish under bowl. Not seen unless you are on the floor but for the price it shouldn’t have flaws

Fairly easy to install and came with the wax seal. Adjustable flapper was set to 1 which was didn’t allow enough water into the toilet. Hard to break it free but seemed to work best around 7 to 8 for the 1.28 gallon tank. No issues flushing after adjusting. Unfortunately the instructions didn’t address this at all. Took the flapper off and googled it to learn about how to make adjustments to it.

Toilet was a perfect replacement for one that developed a huge vertical crack along the base! Toilet was identical to the one replaced! Was easy to install and fit perfectly!!!

Seems to flush really good. Definitely can hear a difference in this toilet's flush compared to the old one.

Easy to assemble. Toilet flushes fast. Shipping was a nightmare. Took way longer than it should.

The toilet was 2 pieces. Only one was in box. They removed the tank after inspecting and didnt put it back in. The plumber was called to insta and to oir surprise no tank. Returned toilet and paid plumber $105 to remove old toilet and put it back in.
