Very Good tub for small spaces
I purchased this tub one year ago for a bathroom update. It fit the (small) space perfectly and went in with little trouble. I've had no problem with "chipping" the finish. My only comment is that I think the "grit" on the tub floor should be grittier. It's not slick, but it's not much of a tread. Also, water could drain faster, but that's not a problem. Perfect tub for low threshold and small- to medium-sized people. I didn't purchase it because of the cost, but low cost is a real bonus.

Had 2 chips in it and the finish was like...
Had 2 chips in it and the finish was like an orange peel texture, not smooth. Returned it.

Buyer beware!
I'm doing a shower/tub remodel. This tub out-of-the-box had 2 chips in different locations. Unfortunately, they were 'hair line' cracks which didn't completely chip off until after installation and tiling. I have filed a case with American Standard, but I'm not sure what we can expect.If there are 2 issues, what's the long-term expectations? Quality control is obviously a major problem.

This is a great standard height tub if you’re looking...
This is a great standard height tub if you’re looking for a basic design. It is sturdy and has a super shiny finish. Our contractor loved the waffle design on the underside , as it helped in getting a snug solid placement when laying it over a bed of mortar during installation. The only reason for the 4, and not 5 stars, is because the entire center of the bottom interior, from head to toe, has a rough non-slip surface. Other tubs have intermittent rough areas alternating with shiny areas. I haven’t had it long enough to see how well it cleans up. Overall, it looks nice. Not cheap.

Too small
Sides are not high enough and the tub not wide enough to make it a good soaker, my mistake. Also, the hand held shower hit the inside of the tub (as it is want to do) and chipped the porcelain.

I wasn't looking to spend a fortune on a new tub. Picked out out this tub online, and had it sent to my local store. I wasn't necessarily expecting anything great, but this is a really nice looking tub. Excellent finish. I was really surprised by how solid it is and how great it looks.

The cardboard package was well put together and the tub...
The cardboard package was well put together and the tub was well protected.I used the cardboard cutout to protect the bottom of the tub from scratching while tiling the walls. Most reviews for the bathtubs less than $400.00 that I read were not encouraging but I am happy with this purchase.

When we opened the box, there was a ding on the corner of the tub. Not sure if we want to exchange it as it will be a drag having to bring it back to the store.

The tub was in good condition. It is just...
The tub was in good condition. It is just slightly bigger than 60” so it was a little challenging to put it in a 60 alcove. Had to do some planing of the studs. The tub itself seems very level. We had no problems getting it perfectly level. We did set it in a thin layer of mortar but I’m not sure that it was necessary. Tub seems to retain the water heat well with baths. Overall very happy with it.

Awesome bathtub
We are very satisfied with the tub, easy installation, the hight of the tube is awesome. Great tub for elderly folks, the adhesive bottom really works, don’t need a anti slip mat.

Terrible tub
Im 5’ tall. Its too shallow. Its very deceiving, it looks deep but its not. In fact when you step out of the tub, use caution because the inside of the tub is at higher level than floor level. I almost fell getting out. I need to put a note so my guests will use caution when stepping out. My contractor bought another american standard, and it still is too shallow. The slip proof isnt that great either
