I purchased the Bemis 7M1203SLOW 006, this is a slow close, Bone, Elongated seat. The seat is actually very well made and really like the slow close feature. The reason for the poor rating was it would not stay attached to the toilet. The Easy Clean feature causes the toilet seat to come off of the mounting clips with even the smallest user. The design feature of the mounting bracket that allows for the Easy Clean, ie. Easy removal of the seat, is a train wreck. This is not an issue of not tightening the blots or incorrect assembly this is just a bad design. I have installed dozens of seats over the years and never seen a worse design. Only thing that could fix this is a completely different mounting bracket. Do not recommend the seat with the EasyClean feature.

Broke After 7 Months

It worked as advertised for the first 7 months. A piece then popped out of the hinge and wouldn't go back in. Seat began to slam. After a few more days, seat wouldn't close properly. I called Home Depot and they refused to offer a refund or replacement.
The attached photo shows a close-up of the broken piece and the location from where it popped out.

Well made plastic seat and lid, soft close is great. Very comfortable . The price was right and installation was very easy . The seat will come off just by unclipping the tabs in the back for easy cleaning, Another plus is the mounting hardware that you install that can be adjusted if this seat is too long or too short for your specific elongated toilet .

This is my second seat in 6 months. I bought it in March of this year. The slow close feature died because a plug on the left hinge came out. Installation was easy and the seat is substantial My complaint is that the slow close feature stopped working at a couple of months.

It took longer for me to remove the old seat and unpack this new seat than to actually install this new Bemis toilet seat! The close feature prevents both the ring and cover from slamming shut, a real plus when using it in the middle of the night. The seat does not shift around and stays firmly attached to the toilet. This is the third seat installed in my 2 1/2 bath home as I wouldn't exchange it for anything else.

This is 2 stars mainly because it stated this was elongated seat and it is round and won’t fit my toilets. The quality is good and I would have liked the idea of a quiet close. Installation would have been easy from the looks of what was required. I can’t really speak to much more since this seat doesn’t fit on the toilet. I would send it back however the program really doesn’t include returns. So FYI be sure if you are ordering this and want elongated make sure that is what will be sent. Cannot comment on pros and cons or whether I could recommend without being able to use this

This is a nice, no nonsense toilet seat. It's made of hard plastic so it doesn't flex and is comfortable to sit on. It's slow close (I don't understand how they still make seats that aren't), and it looks nice. The profile is a bit curvier than I like, but if you're spending a lot of time on how a replacement seat looks then you might need to find a different hobby. Installation is easy, and the seat adjusts without difficulty, however, to get the seat tight so it won't wobble you need an adjustable wrench. Why companies don't make a seat that can be put on (or even better removed) by hand is beyond me.

I have used the Bemis brand toilet seat for the past 21 years. It’s one of few economical brands that carry the bone color. This seat is replacing a Bemis seat. Very shiny plastic lasts for years and years. Beautiful light bone color that is similar to off white. The hinges on this seat are square and a different shape from the existing, same brand seat so I did use the new hardware. To install you place the plastic bolt inside a square plastic square nut then slide the nut into the hinge. You then insert the bolt into the holes of the toilet and tighten a plastic round nut onto the bolt from below. Hand tighten. The lid closes very slowly as well as the seat cover and installing couldn’t be any easier. Rubber like bumpers on seat cover. Includes instructions for installation and cleaning. Easily removable for cleaning or replacing.
