Stopped working after 5 uses. The plastic gear on the trimmer broke 4 teeth and the metal gear on the motor shaft no linger turns the trimmer. Replacement of that cheap plastic piece is over $30. Zero stars for this piece of junk.

After two summers this little unit has not let me down. The only problem is one of two batteries died within a month. I have better stronger tougher Ego electric trimmer which has had issues. But not this trimmer. The model I got also had the little attachment with wheels that turns into a Little Tikes mower. It’s like using a vacuum clean for small duty right around back door. I have a nasty steep and weedy front bank and this little guy eats through it. Very happy.

Black and Decker hedge trimmer was as expected, light weight, easy to use, and did a great job. Arrived super very fast after order was placed. Very Satisfied!

This tool is great lite weight, powerful enough for what i need

I “downgraded” from the 2-speed "12 in. 20V MAX Lithium-Ion Cordless String Trimmer” and as it turns out I like this one much better. The wheel located on the front of the prior model became a constant nuisance when I wanted to momentarily set the trimmer against a wall as it would roll and fall down. This spring in the Pacific NW has been wet and perfect for growing tall grass and weeds. Yesterday I plowed through two foot tall grass and blackberry bushes in creating a path through the property. It handles blackberry vines pretty well until they get to be larger than 1/4”. Regarding battery life, I have a several batteries. For the job yesterday I needed two. I’ve gotten 3-4 years out of a couple of the batteries but they are pooping out. When they are brand new they give you a good deal of time but I always carry an extra in a pocket. By the way, I’m a 73 year old male.

This little blower will do a nice job if you have a fully charged battery. Also, don't dilly dally. Don't stay grinding away in one area too long. If you're expeditious and do the main target areas of your yard first you won't have a problem.

Bought it less than a year ago which I recently moved to my new home. It was working fine in he beginning used it like twice. Winter came did not use it; spring came and now it does not work.. battery is fully charged

Portable, lightweight and powerful. My kids all want to use it.

It's a little weak but for the price, the fact that it has no cord, being able to swap the battery out with any of my other B&D product batteries, etc. it is a great value. I wouldn't expect to be able to use it for major leaf/debris blowing but it works great for quick jobs - cleaning out the garage, moving grass trimmings off the sidewalk, that kind of stuff. It's especially great for garage cleaning - it's so lightweight and easy to reach behind and around stuff!

B&D has been around a VERY VERY long time and has a rep on some things for being cheaply made or simply not as good as the bigger name brands. The 22" 20-volt MAX Cordless Hedge trimmer worked amazingly the first time I used it and held a full charge for the duration of my bush trimming work. It seems like B&D hit this one outta the park so far!

LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this Hedge Trimmer. Just purchased and hedge a lot of bushes (some needed it last year) Light weight and able to tackle both small and large bushes. Soooooo tired of watching out not to cut a cord. No Longer have to. Have a couple 20 volt batteries , so always have a back up on hand. Also have the weed wacker and love that also. Female, will be 75 in two months and trimmed all my bushes myself (hard to get me and trimmer in the pictures-I had to take the pics myself) Buy one you will not be disappointed!!!

When I was younger I worked 4 years performing grounds and maintenance using commercial grade equipment. At first I was hesitant about using an battery trimmer vs a gas powered trimmer. I must say I was impressed. The first time I used it, I didn't charge it. Right out of the box, I was able to get about 75% of my yard done. Just to give you some idea of my yard. I have a quarter acre with two trees - one if the front with exposed roots and one in the back. I have flower beds outlined with rocks and rose bushes. I have a fenced in backyard with playhouse and good size playground for my boys. I have a shed for my tools and and a 20x30 deck. After fully charging the battery i was able to cut 98% which included me edging the side walk. Assembly was easy and love the adjustable shaft to compensate for different height and the edger surpassed my expectation. It was easy to switch from trimmer to edger. Light weight and being able to adjust the handle was an extra bonus. The only cons I can write is the time it takes to charge the batteries. I have a timer on my outlet to make sure I don't over charge my devices. I would say at least 3 hours for a full charge. To prevent much inconvenience, I would edge my yard as much as I could and then charge it some while I use my lawn mower. When I finish using my lawn mower I would then use the time it was charging to finish edging the remaining areas. Still for the price and features I give it 5 stars.

This was a gift and my son loved it. It work very well on the bushes he was trimming. Very prowerful and got the job done quickly.

Purchased to do large plume grasses and tall shrubs. Easy peazy charging, install of battery, and adding guard and handle. Although not what you want to fire up outside your neighbor's window before 8AM, it is quieter than other models I've seen. >>>NOTE: it does bite into limbs over the specified 3/4" diameter and will stop until you untangle it. Do Not use on small trees.<<< This is great for tall grasses and shrubs and is lightweight and easy to use. Battery will blink green on the charger till fully charged then remain a solid green. I used for over an hr had plenty of juice left and recharge took about 30 min. So far so good!

Great product and easily replaceable for parts

It's very difficult to determine from the instructions where to remove 6 screws from the "trimmer housing" as they make no reference as to what that is. So if you're mechanically inclined you'll know. If you just want to pull it out of the box and screw in the handle and trim it's embarrasingly difficult. Plus There are like 12 screws and I was afraid to remove the wrong 6 screws and chop off an arm and a leg because they were the wrong ones. Once you put this thing together it works great and after inadvertently cutting the extension cord twice in one day I decided to go for a cordless as I don't like gas.

After reading some reviews, I bought this combo Kit as well as an extra String Trimmer by itself (same model as the one in the combo). I figured my wife could use one while i used the other, this would save on time. These are 20 Volt Lithium units. We charged all batteries over night. The battery on my trimmer went dead within 10 minutes of trimming the edge of my lawn and i was only able to trim about 20 feet because the lack of power didnt allow me to "Cut" the grass/weeds...its just beat them up until the blades of grass eventually just broke off, it would take forever to do my front yard. My wife's Trimmer lasted about 15 minutes and she was Trimming very light grass at the edge of our planters. We charged the batteries again and tried once again...same result. There are other B&D trimmers that work much better, this a budget combo and they work like budget units...in this case, you get what you pay for. I don't know if this was a bad "batch" or what, but i am 100% unhappy with these and i was told i couldn't return them in "used condition" so i guess i am stuck with them. As you can see by the picture, the blower is unused and the trimmer is slightly dirty as best.

I'm used to using heavy commercial edge trimmers that work very well but are very heavy since mine broke after about 30 years of using them I figured I just buy these and if I had to throw them away after the first use that would be OK but very surprising they worked great I definitely recommend him

I was skeptical at first about a battery powered hedge trimmer, but this worked perfectly for my application (3 Common Boxwoods, an Azalea, 3 Rhododendrons, and 3 Variegated Boxwoods). The tool is surprisingly powerful and I was able to carefully trim all shrubs on one battery charge without it feeling weak which was over the course of an hour. Very impressed by the durability and how lightweight the product is.

I have a large deck, yard and driveway and use them all the time. Bought extra batteries that fit my drills also. This is my second purchase of this combo as the first set I've had almost 2 years. I bought these for back up, but do not need them yet. One of my batteries is getting weak and that's my only complaint. If you do not expect the blower to blow heavy leave off your grass then your in business with this great deal.

I'm a 47 year old female and I have never done yard work before because it was always included in my rent. I recently started renting a house that didn't include yard work OR equipment, so I had to purchase some of my own. I bought a great Craftsman mower from a friend (make sure to get self-propelled!!) and I researched what brand and type of strimmer I wanted to buy (gas vs electric vs battery). After deciding on battery, I initially was going to buy the strimmer with the dual mode accelerator switch for high performance or longer run time option for $99, but decided I would rather have the combo kit (with blower) for the same price. I absolutely adore this strimmer! I have used it numerous times since my purchase and have yet to run out of string. I have a medium-sized yard, but unfortunately there's more area that needs "whacking" then mowing and this thing has done a fantastic job so far. The only unfortunate thing is the battery time (charging over 6hrs / use-time about 20 mins). I went to another local store because Home Depot didn't carry the 20v battery in stock, and I purchased an additional battery and the 30-minute charger. I ended up returning both because although the charger takes less time to charge the battery, it also gives you less use-time. Also, the additional battery only lasted 10 minutes whether I used the 6-hour charger, or the 30-minute one. I'm going to try to find a longer lasting battery online, but for now I will only do 20 minutes of "whacking" at a time. That is my only complaint: battery charging time, and use-time. The blower is also perfect for my needs . . . cleaning off the mower and blowing dry grass off the concrete patio/porch areas. People who need it for more (especially with wet grass) might not think it's strong enough. See the before and after photos for areas that I used ONLY the strimmer on. Incredible piece of machinery!!

Trying to get my teenager to understand the value of hard work, I had a trick up my sleeve. Make it easier! Getting this cordless trimmer was part of my brilliant plan to get her out in the yard to help me and it worked. She loves helping now that there is no bothersome cord to deal with. And the fact that it came bundled with a cordless sweeper means she doesn't have to fight with the push broom to clean up. Battery life is great. She can get all the trimming and sweep up done on one charge.

This product made trimming my bushes so much easier than using my hand clippers. You can sculpture your bushes so much easier and more precise. The battery last for me to do my whole yard with no problem. I just got it and used only once but I have several Black and Decker wireless yard tools that work great and have lasted 10 plus years now.
