MAJOR THUMBS DOWN
gear box stripped after 5th use. Light fell out. Can not get lower gear to work correctly in both direction. Unit constantly pulls to one side or the other. Oil dip stick broken out of the box.

We reached out to MFG for more information and below is their response.
“ If the snow blower always pulls to one side, we suggest you check the skid shoes according to the owner’s manual.
This typically happens when the skid shoes and / or scrapper blade are dragging more on one side than the other. Adjust the skid shoes and / or scrapper blade so that the scrapper blade drags uniformly on the surface being blown. If problem persists after adjusting skid shoe height, then larger skid shoes can be purchased that allow the snow blower to operate more smoothly on rough surfaces.

NOT Commercial!
Don't let the 302cc fool you. The engine is 11hp, which is far undersized for this size of machine. The only reason this machine is rated "Commercial Grade" is because you need a full time mechanic to keep it running. Within one hour of using it the choke lever fell off. Now I need a pliers to turn the choke on/off. Also, I have to have all of the wrenches in my pockets at all times, because I have to tighten at least 4 bolts every hour or the handles will fall off. The muffler already fell off. The drive mechanism is terrible as well! If the machine runs into a piece of ice the size of a pea frozen to the ground it will stop moving forward. I have tightened the cable...no real improvement. I have already ordered a new auger gear box, because after 3 days of use the gears stripped out. I got this machine to make clearing snow easier. I get more exercise using this machine than I get at the gym! I am constantly pushing and pulling it.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, A number of factors that can contribute to how difficult the snow may be to handle. Please contact our customer service technicians who may be able to assist in troubleshooting. Some factors may help with the ease in handle are:
• Ensure the skid shoes are adjusted to allow for a gap under the scraper blade. It should be as high as the highest obstacle on the surface.
• Don’t lift the bucket through a turn. Leave the bucket in the ground and drag it through the turn.
• Power the snow blower through the turn, keep the wheels turning and shift your weight to one side.
• Leave the augers on when turning to keep the bucket empty. A full bucket of snow can add over 100 pounds.
• Hard turns are a result of leaving the bucket full, lifting the bucket, and fighting the friction of the wheels through the turn. All three can be eliminated or reduced through effective technique.
