Eggplant very healthy growing nicely in my backyard garden

Beautiful plants. One had 3 plants in it and I tried to separate them

The plants arrived a week faster than expected, were all healthy and well protected in shipment, and have done wonderfully well in the garden.

I love Bonnie's Ichiban eggplant. But I made a mistake of purchasing it on-line. What was delivered is about 1/5 of the height you see on the display picture. Four plants came in two containers and they are all dying after one week. I will never order any plant on-line again. If I cannot find it in store, I will skip a season instead of wasting money to order on-line.

The seedlings looked sickly when they arrived.

The plants grew very tall but none had eggplant in the season. The flowers kept falling off. Soil was correctly watered and leaves look healthy too.

I bought this about a month and a half ago. 8 fruits growing on the plant so far. Big leaves, large plant.

Came well packed some leaves brown and dry. The green leaves had small holes and black mites like bugs back of the leaves. Within 3-4 days all the leaves had holes and hanging off the stem. One still breathing but every new leaf gets eaten. I have never had this type of issues with product coming from this farm. Very sad That I was really looking forward to growing eggplant in my garden this year.

I found it on sale and I thought to give it a try... to my surprise it bloomed and continued to produce eggplants until the first frost. Will purchase again. I use mulch, gardensoil and chip previous clippings from the garden.

This is my first year to have an eggplant in my garden. I picked up one of these Black Beauty Eggplants from Bonnie Plants from one of the local stores. It is BEAUTIFUL!! The plant has grown leaps and bounds, the foliage on the plant is huge and beautiful!! AND IT SEEMS TO PRODUCE LIKE CRAZY!! I have a cage around it for support (because I'm still new to egg plant and assumed it needed one) and I did fertilize it with 8-8-8 when I planted it into my raised bed. The eggplant fruit is delicious!
