Prior to purchasing the box blade I was rather skeptical about its quality and effectiveness at moving material. To my surprise the entire assembly was made of heavy steel and good quality. Additional, it came with the attachments to install on a variety of tractor designs. First I used it to level a 120’ x 36’ area of crush concrete the was put down and packed several months earlier. Without using extra weight on the box blade it only took a few passes and it was grading filling the box with gravel and easily allowed me to level the low and high areas and moving excess gravel to new areas. Next I used the box blade to shape up a 30’ x 35’ concrete area. This area was packed harder so to expedite my project I added about a 10 pound sandbag. The weight made grading easy on the first pass. I was completely satisfied with the results produced by this tool…money well spent to use on my 20 year old small Craftsman 1000 garden Tractor.

At the time In my life where I buy something new and don’t want to assemble an item upon receiving or replace defective parts after using it once.

Bought this and adapted it to the aftermarket Sleeve Hitch that I had installed on my Troy Bilt Pony mower has worked surprisingly well around my yard and garden...the attached photos will tell it all.

I ordered this from my local box store for my Husqvarna garden tractor. I found the instructions easy to follow, had it together in about an hour. I have a 80 foot gravel driveway the sloops down hill. I was able to scrape the driveway and the 3 car parking area with no problem. I bought this Brinly brand because of the good reviews online.

The weld on the back of the blade broke off after I went the first ten feet with it. It was only welded on one side of the pole. Home Depot's return process was great and very easy though!

This review is not based on the performance of the tool, but on the multiple hassles right out of the box: four 1/2" critical bolts were missing (requiring time & expense for a trip to the hardware store), and one of the mounting slots in the blade (for the edge piece) was deformed, requiring significant filing for the bolt to fit. A photo is included which shows the scraped finish and deformed slot. That's three strikes, including the damaged finish. Very disappointing for American Built.

It's a great scraper for the price. I mounted a ball hitch and a winch to lift the scraper to dump dirt where needed.

Actually this little box scraper turned out better than I thought it would............ after a few modifications. For those that have done their homework, you know that you need the seperate sleeve hitch to mount the scaper to your yard tractor. I didn't like the big lever that you raise and lower the scraper with and the fact that you really have no downforce on the unit. To ammend this I welded up a heavy duty bracket that bolts to the tractor's sleeve hitch and installed the elec. actuator off of my Agri-Fab 48" snow blower with the switch mounted by the steering wheel. This lets you raise and lower the scraper at will and gives you plenty of downforce.........now it really works very good with no strain on your arm and shoulder, I highly recommed this modification. I also drilled and installed a hitch pin on both sides of the scarifier bar to hold it more securly in place. I have really given this little guy a workout cleaning out my barn and with the tilt option grading gravel back onto my 800' driveway. So far money very well spent..........

Product works but the hitch weld on sleeve is weak, broke after a week of use. Weak weld on one side only. I'm going to resell both sides for greater strength. Scraper works well but needs weight for effective ness, used a cinder block to accomplish this. Overall good product for scraping, weak hitch

The unit was easy to put together. However the scarifier bar is held in the box scraper only on one end. It should be properly drilled so that both sides hold their distance . The scarifer bar should be a little longer also . The klik pin for the scarifer bar does not fit well and is a couple of sizes small . The scraper box itself should have hardened scrapers bolted into the bottom of the blade so that rather than wearing down the blade itself it has replaceable scrapers much like a snow blower has, but of hardened 1055 steel . Brinley has been in business a long time and should have addressed these issues . I think they would then outsell the competition by a long way . I would rather pay more money for a well thought out unit , rather than one that has had issues and the company refuses to modify . It is a good unit , but could easily be a great unit with a better engineering attitude . I have been using it for moving river rock in my yard and it is saving me a lot of back breaking work . I did purchase this over another companies unit because of cost as they seem about the same .

I bought this to level about 40 feet by 35 feet of yard space. When I bought we did not realize there's other parts needed to hook this up 1982 216 john deere. Witch cost a extra $375.00. But got together just tried it out wow this is going to be fun playing with it in the yard. Well made heavy. I wish there was 2 sets of blades thing 1 about 4 to 5 inches longer. We are very happy with it.

The unit assembled easily and fit my sleeve hitch. The cement block I used needed to be trimmed to fit. I placed the scarifier bar in the disengaged orientation during my initial driveway grading project. The scarifier bar fell out after a few minutes of use, but slight adjustment should rectify this. Otherwise, the unit performed well and seems durable.

Delivered as promised. Functions better than the reviews indicated. Very happy with it.

Bought this item for mulch removal. Not very effective. Additionally, with the added center block weight was not enough to “scrape soil” and clear debris. Overrated product for the price. May work better with packing peanuts.

Darn good tool. I am misusing it to take a hill out of my backyard, and it is working well. Well built, and strong.

Assembly was simple following instructions Product works well with my riding lawnmower. I wish it would have come with a hitch pin to hold it to my mower. I had to purchase one separately.

worse device to have. it literally does nothing. waste of money. the designers that manufactured this device has no clue how people run their landscape businesses

Just wasn't made for desert country roads. Bad purchase. The rake needs to be reinforced.

I've used this box grader a few times and I love it. While grading my gravel drive I realized it took care of the weed problem on the drive. It moves gravel quit well with my lawn tractor.

Works great behind my Cub Cadet 46" lawn tractor.
