This product has ended up being an expensive and unattractive lawn ornament. We purchased this roller in April this year and it was great for the first few months. Unfortunately, the drum has now warped and, as a result, it is completely useless. To make matters worse, the warranty expired a month ago. After doing some research online, I now know that this type of roller needs to be emptied when it is not being used, something that the manual fails to mention. Unless you are prepared to empty the roller, I would recommend you spend a little more and buy a steel roller, While a steel roller will rust over time if water is used for ballast, it should last longer than the 4 months this product did.

Bought for my son in Georgia, and it seems to please him. Should work fine in that Sandy soil.

Roller tracks and follows nice just take the turns slow and easy. I use after each rain to flatten the yard and seems to be doing well. I filled with water and some pool algae treatment but will empty come fall.

I wanted a heavy roller that would have an impact. That’s what I got.

Unable to rate. Would describe as "fair". End clip holding frame to roller popped loose resulting in bent frame, lost parts. Poor design. Previous roller from Home Depot had more secure mounting of frame to roller.

The plug has to be screwed in carefully and I needed a giant plumbers’ crescent wrench to screw the plug in tight enough to clear the frame when it rolls. I suggest lubricate the plug with WD 40 and then screw it in. Then it worked fine.

Bought the 18 x 36 roller and had it delivered to local Home Depot. Took just a couple days and all went well. No damage, all the parts were included. Assembled nice and looks very durable. Just one problem...I cannot get the plug to thread without cross threading. I decided to fill it with sand so that I wouldn't have to deal with that over and over. WAY, WAY HARDER and takes much longer than you would think... Can only get it about 3/4 full of sand and still can't get the plug to thread without cross threading. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

At first I thought this was a poor choice, because after assembling and filling with water my wife couldn't push it. But then I had an idea to hook it up to my lawn tractor and that worked just great. It's primary function was to go round and round, and "WOW" it did. :)

This product is great. Easy to assemble and store. Light weight enough to move easily, but durable to get the job done

Ok but had small leak at seam which I sealed with a two-part epoxy cement. Otherwise good. Time will tell.

I'm very pleased with the product. The only complaint I have is the frame is a little weak. I'm sure I will break it sooner or later. I will just build a new on when this happens. For the price, this problem is worth it.

Good quality. I am using it to compact decomposed granite. I can't fill it because my Sear tractor (circa 2000) 15 hp can marginally pull it due to the loose surface (traction). Once the surface is compacted with rain and with the roller it should work well.

Easy to assemble, pulls well behind my lawn tractor and does the job. I have used it to roll a crushed concrete driveway and also to roll over newly planted sod. Works great, doesn't leak water and stores easily.

Once all parts were received it is a great at being a roller. Just should not take 2 phonecalls to get all the parts that should of came in the original box

Item has few moving parts, assembly was easy with clear and concise instructions, price was fair.. I would recommend this to a friend.

I could not get the cheap plastic water plug to screw in right. It took me half a day to make a work around. My work around let me roll the lawn but it ls slowly leaks water too. I wish I had bought a better brand. The few good points are it can be assembles in a reasonable amount of time and it is not too heavy when empty. A good roller must have a good water plug and this one obviously has a bad water plug system.

The roller arrived in the 1st week of April. The assembly was easy but there was a problem getting the plug to fit into the fill/drain hole. Closer examination determined that the pipe threads cut into the full/drain hole were damaged preventing insertion of the plug. I called the manufacturer and was told they would ship a new roller. When the roller arrived it was the wrong size. Numerous email communications resulted in an assurance of the shipment of the correct roller by "the end if the month". It is now 2 months after the purchase and the problem has not been resolved.

UPS delivered with minimum wait. A little minor assembly, add a little axle grease, hook up to your garden tractor and fill it with water. What could be easier? Roll lawn, slow is best. I like the rounded edges that do not make divots when making a tight turn. Superior to my rusted out steel roller, now recycled.

The Roller was very easy to assemble. Work great on lawn ,and for all that has never used them keep my lawn tractor from rolling over, yes very dumb on my part.

I have other Brinly-Hardy products is the reason I chose this roller. The quality for price is what I was looking for in my home use. It was easy to assemble and I have had no problems with it. The drain plug for mine has worked very smooth. Definitely recommend this roller.

The lawn roller was easy to assemble and hook up to the mower.

I ordered this Poly lawn roller and it arrived right away. It was easy to assemble and fill. Then, I went to screw the cap-plug in. It wouldn't fit. The threads simply wouldn't engage. It seemed as though the plastic on the plug was harder than the plastic of the receiving threads so they inevitably began to canter and strip inside the drum. Frustrated, I called Brinly Hardy (an American company) and began to explain the problem when they immediately offered to send a replacement drum and plug. I got the impression they had heard my story before. The second drum arrived, and you guessed it - the plug would not engage in the receiving threads. Exact same problem. I can manage to get the plug in at a wonky 15 degree angle, but removing it each year to drain the water will mean eventual devastation of those threads. My solution is to insert a pipe fitting reducer and a plug of a smaller size inside that so the plug will actually come out without a problem each year. It's just a pain having to make a product work - it should work already. I would have given this product 1 star but I gave it a 2 because of the excellent customer service which offered a replacement (although still defective).
