Battery dies quickly and the string/cord was wrapped terribly

seems like it will be good at getting the job done, love battery operated lawn tools. Only used twice since buying several weeks ago.

Easy to assemble, works great I have other Dewalt products so I only bought the tool.

Interesting, I get an offer to review this product on the day I am returning it. The motor is too small. The cord storage head holds very little cord. I have used this trimmer twice. At the end of the second use, I had the reel off 5-6 times to pull cord out and now was out of line. My previous trimmer had capacity to be reloaded once each summer.

I use this with my other lawn tools and am able to get my whole yard done with two batteries. This allows me to edge and clean the edges against the various obstacles in my yard keeping it clean and crisp

Instructions on putting it together were terrible. Would be better able to balance it if it was one piece.

Outstanding!!!! It is a great product and I plan to purchase a couple more since I feel it’s cost effective. Easy to use - straight out the box!!! Literally!!!

I was looking for an electric weed trimmer for around my house. I don't have a lot of thick weeds or tall grass to trim, and if I do I use my gas powered. I found this and since I have several dewalt batteries for my tools I decided to give it a try. So far I haven't been disappointed, and I can do the whole yard on two batteries. My only complaint is that loading the string can be a bit frustrating at times. Other than that it's perfect for around the house.

I beleve need a little bit more power on the motor. But the rest is ok.

Need a better battery. Good power though.

I used a freshly charged dewalt battery. I have a 30’ driveway. 90’ of curb. The stringer motor was not up for the job. It literally caught fire and smoked the first time I used it. Do not recommend buying this. I have all dewalt tools. This is complete junk.

I should note that I own over 100 Dewalt tools, mostly the 20V series and I've been very pleased to date. My trimmer died after 4 years of I'd say light use. but ok, things happen. I buy this new one and here are my observations: 1. Under powered. 2. Spool head is NOT the same as the other models. Meaning you can never buy a "quick load" head like I did for my older one. 3. Putting line in sucks...no easy way to put it. 4. After just 1 use the bump feed shows IMO excessive wear. I should have returned it right then, but other things took higher priority... 5. Only takes to a max of .080 line. my older one took .096. I would not recommend - save your money and buy the one model that takes accessories. I was on a tight budget or that's what I would have done.

Good battery life but somewhat underpowered

I renovate homes and most of the tools I have been using every day for years are Dewalt. They all use the 20V batteries, so this made sense. Paid $120, assembled and functional in minutes, and I love using it. Bump-feed is a bit sensitive, but thoughtful trigger placement and near perfect weight distribution makes it alright. ONLY reason for 4 stars is terrible run time. Comically bad with 1.5ah battery. FR. BUT, get a 6,8, or 10ah for it and you will love life and this machine. Trust. 🙌

I would guess maybe 15-20 uses this year and the motor gave out. I also have a gas Echo trimmer that I use to cut brush. I have owned this 5+ years and not a single issue. I will buy a second gas Echo to replace this one for the light duty string work that this one couldn’t handle.

Do not buy this junk. The motor burnt out on my first one within 3 uses (on a half acre lot). Dewalt replaced under warranty and it happened again. The ventilation for the motor is poorly designed giving it very little air flow. I understand the air intake vents need to be cleaned, but not every ten minutes. This thing is garbage. All of my tools WERE Dewalt, but I’ll be phasing them out.
