[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Buy this a month ago and trust me I'm fanatic Milwaukee tools ,but with this line dewalt flexbolt filled all my necessary , now I'm continue buying this line tools , is very powerful.

This impact drill make my job easier , so are the other tools the skillsaw and sawsaw I dont have to worry on finding an electric plug because are cordless! I love my tools.

Love it ability to cut threw all lumber and its longer run time before having to change the battery.. it is a genuine product built for Americans in america. If your on the fence and are looking to buy a great product then dewalt is the tool for you

Great power and dependability

I have to be honest, when this saw arrived, I felt like a little kid in a candy store! They made a lot of great improvements, starting with the battery. It still locks in place both on the saw and on the charger, so it's not going anywhere and the capacity is a huge improvement. I used it for a few hours and it didn't even lose an LED on the charging indicator. The battery does add some weight due to the extra capacity, but it's not a problem. I'm sure professionals out there will use the battery up a lot faster than I ever could, but that's even more reason for them to consider this saw if they need one. I could not believe how easy it was to load the blade into the tool. Just lift up on the lever and insert the blade and release. You're done, that's it! It's just as easy to remove. Very simple to operate, just unlock and press the trigger. Release and lock when not in use. The LED light isn't nearly as bright as typical smartphone LED lights, but at least they tried to help light up whatever you're trying to cut. It's not bright enough to work in the dark and isn't meant for that application. It might help under a counter or something like that. The saw made short work of cutting branches, wood, and I have yet to cut metal for practical purposes, but it makes short work of metal too! It came with a small metal cutting blade, but you'll definitely want to purchase some additional blades along with this so you can have some versatility. I went for the 15-piece that comes with a case. This tool really made the job easy and it's not too heavy. High recommended! Good job Dewalt!

This is a standard size reciprocating saw with some cool new features. First it's battery powered so it can easily go anywhere, anytime. The flex battery will work in a variety of Dewalt tools that use 20-60 volts. This saw preforms well with that 60 volt battery for great power. Cuts for quite a while on a single charge, cutting most anything a 110 saw will. Full power cut until the battery goes dead. Has a very handy flip lever for loading the blades into the collet for fast and easy blade changes. Battery charges in about an hour. Charger cooling fan is rather noisy, not much heavier than a corded saw. Comes with charger, short bi-metal blade and carrying bag. Be sure to fully charge the battery before use.

Dewalt has always been connected to high quality commercial tools for "the skills". This saw and accessories live up to the name. As technology changes (i.e. Battery compared to Corded), we are seeing some great improvements and features in the battery operated arena. Battery Charge Length, Power to the Tool, quick and versatile chargers and batteries, dual voltages etc. This tool has ALL of these features PLUS. I could have taken and attached some pictures, but HD and some other reviewers have done an excellent job here, so there is not much another picture can/would add. (Unless I show a picture of a project I am using this on, two of which I have not started as of this review) What I can do is highlight some features you should note on the pictures like the keyless chuck lever on the right side of the tool housing near the blade, the "charge gauge" on the battery itself. What one cannot necessarily "feel" by looking at pictures is the fact that ALL of the "black colored" parts of this saw are a very nice rubberized finish that not only "feels" good to the hands, but physically supports controlling the tool in the various positions this type of tool often needs to be used. It has a "bit of weight" to it as well. This validates some level of the tools quality but also, once again, is an important aspect of "controllability" and balance of the tool. While a homeowner who does some decently sized home improvement projects can appreciate this tool, let me talk to its use by the Trades (Construction, Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers etc.). These professionals can REALLY appreciate this tool, kit and all of its features. The quality build of the tool, the rubberized surfaces, the quick charging batteries and the power of the tool compared to a corded model. Additionally, the included "Contractor Bag helps the professionals keep the saw and all of the accessories together and easy to keep "in the vehicle" and move from "job to job" (even on the same site). I ordered this as I always wanted to add a reciprocating saw to my tools after some remodeling I have done over the years. When I REALLY NEEDED one and did not have one, I had to be creative. I am about to start two new projects ,a bathroom remodel and rebuilding an outdoor shower where I DO have a need for it on both. I also should note, as a FYI, that they include one "short" metal cutting blade (OK so I DID end up adding a picture that may be helpful:>) so you should consider picking up a blade (or blades) you need for your project or general needs. HD has some well priced Dewalt Blade assortment sets for this saw.

The first thing that you notice right off the bat is the weight. It's close to 12lbs. One would think that the weight would be a bit off-putting, but there is a reason for it - that weight helps the operator get behind that weight to complete your saw job. The sheer power behind this tool is INCREDIBLE! The main reason why this tool was ordered was for help with building a covered patio out off the back of our home. There were pressure treated 6x6's that had to be notched out and they were beasts to get through. The circular saw was only able to dig into a small area of it. we needed BRAUN! Out came the FlexVolt Reciprocating Saw, and BOOM notches were completed in no time flat! The time saving factor alone because of it's power was substantial. This saw is a beast, and it can tackle any situation that you put in front of it. Using this tool only becomes easier because it also has a helpful light built into the front of the saw to help light up your work surfaces! Now lets talk about that battery charger! The battery arrived with a slight charge from the factory - so I popped it into the TurboCharger - in a half an hour it was FULLY charged! The charger itself has a fan inside to allow it to power up your battery fast than a regular lithium tool charger! The FlexVolt allows you to use the 60V supplied battery for full power OR you can use one of the DeWalt 20V batteries for a little less power, but it still works with quite a punch of power! We used that original battery all day off and on today in six beefy pressure treated 6x6's and it never wavered on it's original charge - we literally could not put a dent in draining the battery -- now I'm sure that a professional construction crew would be able to put a good dent in the power, but I gotta say, that battery just trudged through and powered through without any indication of it being a difficult job by any means. It's built to be USED. It's built to LAST, and it's built to SAW - without a doubt one of THE most impressive tools that we've tested out in a very long time! Well worth making this your choice - it's going to last! Add to all of this that it comes in a very nicely made heavy duty work bag, and it's a tool that should be at the top of any serious builder looking for a long lasting tool that will be there for the long term!

Cuts like butter, definitely worth the cost, a lot less vibration than the 20v.

I will start by saying I am a full time commercial plumber in the state of Wisconsin. I have this saw on the site with me and put it though the ringer of extreme heat, freezing cold, dusty, muddy, and just plain challenging conditions for any tool and let me tell you, this saw can really hang. I have dropped this saw from my ladder, dropped it in water, snow, and mud and it still cuts like its brand new. Paired with the 6.0 Flexvolt pack, this thing can last me all week of occasional cuts when I need it. Although I am just a plumber, I can promise you that sometimes I ask a lot of this tool, and it never lets me down. The power from this saw is equal to or greater than that of a corded saw. As far as I'm concerned, there is no longer a need for corded saws when you can get the same power and reliability from this bad boy. I have had framers ask me to borrow this saw, and show up the next day with one of their own. Professionals and DIY'ers alike need to have this saw in their arsenal because you can literally cut anything with it. If you still can't convince your wife or husband that you need this saw, just buy it and let them use it to cut anything of their choosing. They will have so much fun using it that they will forget they're even mad at you!

Very solid made tool, and I would give the saw itself a 4 star rating. For the price I would of like to of seen the ability to screw in a second handle in multiple places on the saw for comfort. I would also like to see a laser pointer attached to the top when working in darker places the light is nice a laser would be better. Why I’m giving it an average rating - I’ve used other cheaper reciprocating saws with much less battery specs that seem to have the same amount of cutting time. Almost to the ridiculous seeing that this is a brand new set up and I can’t make it to lunch without needing a new battery. Buy the kit but get a lemon of a battery

Battery was long and strong. Made my project much easier than I thought it would be. Exceeded my expectations in every way.

DCS388 DeWalt 60volt Flex I use this tool everyday for cutting through wood or metal. I am able to get the tool to cut at the angles I need for tight spaces. The fast charger is also handy, with a fan to keep it cool and the size to last the time I need. I would recommend this to anyone. I buy tools for everyday use, to last and for efficiency. This is the sawzall for me.

So far dewalts 60v systems have impressed me. 30+ years in construction and this the first time I’ve seen a cordless system hold its own against an AC operated tool.

Worked as expected.. 4 stars because of cost.
