When the TS 1 first came, they were an attempt to manufacture a better tool case and even thou they had some good features, they had some short comings in the "Design And Manufacturing" (it is obvious since they redesign and built them different in the TS 2). I bought 3 under the wrong information given by the Home Depot customer service, that the yellow trays fit the Thought System #1. Upon arrival a different day than the scheduled I found that they don't fit, so I returned 2 (third could not return because It got bang damaged while in my possession). The laches are almost impossible to open and close in addition to other design faults.

Extremely durable and great organization. Got the insert so my most used screw drivers and pliers are easy to find, visible and I can just grab them real quick when I need them. Holds a lot of tools and weight.

I purchased two, gave one to my son and he has already purchased two additional container. I received a container last Christmas and it has different latch locks on the front. Both work well.

The latches that hold the boxes together broke off on both sides of the box. Dewalt wants me to pay to send it to them instead of accepting my pictures which makes it a lot more expensive to own. Wont put any more money into a bad product Now its just a box.

I love this storage system and they you can customize it to your needs especially if you are on the go alot. Then one draw back to this specific box size it is not deap as the Extra large and it is also not as tall. So be weary as to what you will need this one for. Although I will say, I have a dewalt track saw and it fits perfect inside of it.

Wanted something to store my batteries in to carry from job to job. I had to remive the trays that come inside the case, but it works perfectly. They all fit just right and i can stay organized. Awesome!

The box broke on the first day. I dont recomend it

This product is not worth the price it’s listed for. You’re paying for best and receiving good/better. If I had to do it again I’d either spend half the money on cheaper brands like ridgid or just get the comparable more sound Milwaukee set up. Attachment clamps are made from plastic, poorly designed considering these have space to hold quite some weight. One of mine broke the first day I had it. We’re now on week 4 and the metal clamps for the boxes themselves are already going.. losing their lock. You would think I packed it full and forced it shut but sadly don’t own enough stuff for the to even happen.. metal clamps on cheap thin plastic. The wheels are my last issue. They’re small And wide for the weight and get stuck on tiny stuff like pebbles/transition strips. I don’t think I should have to lower the case 45° to get it over stuff that small. Things I do like is the amount of space actually inside compared to other pack outs and the plastic shelving system is nice as well.

Feels durable. I like that I can stack another on top. Rolls easy. Bigger than expected.

I highly recommend dewalt and the cases are heavy duty but the locking mechanism on it is way too easy to break. They need to fix the locks on thier products, they are very weak and break much to easy.

Ive been Team Yellow from day 1, but am very quickly starting to look into other colors (Red). I bought this “Tough”System set (3 boxes) a little under 4 months ago and almost all of the metal latches/buckles have broken off. The metal latches/buckles are attached to plastic. Not the smartest idea. The only box that the buckles haven’t broken off of is the DS150 (small like the DS130) and this is because the metal latches are attached to metal NOT plastic. I recently posted a tweet to DewaltTough twitter account. They replied told me to contact customer care. I sent an email 10 days ago, and no response from them. I sent a follow up email this morning. Thus, if you are looking for RELIABLE stackable tool boxes, go team red (Milwaukee).

This is a sturdy and well made toolbox. The only downside is the locks are extremely difficult to open and close. But other than that my boyfriend is very proud of this gift.

Very well built and very sturdy. I like how convenient it is for me to carry all the tools I need for the job. I take it to all my job sites and can handle tough jobs and won’t crack easily. I will continue to buy anything DEWALT cause they are simply the best hands down!! I also like the locks on them very secure and tight. Also like that I can stack them I bought 2 other sizes to go along with this specific box!

Ultra tough box just don’t drag it across your truck bed, the little feet can chip off!? Otherwise great protection from rain and perfect storage system!

Super disappointing purchase. I read reviews of the different box options and checked them out in the store, compared prices, and decided the Dewalt Tough System tool boxes looked like the best value so I decided to grab a few to start with and hoped for the best. At the store when bought these, the cashier had to peek inside to make sure all the boxes were empty and as he was closing them back up, one of the latches broke off. He switched out the broken box for a new one. I bought these on a week night so they sat in the garage till the weekend when I had time to organize and move tools into these boxes. As I was organizing, another latch broke. I ran to the store and switched out that box. I used these boxes at work the following week, broke another latch, and had had enough. I returned the whole set. My experience with newer Dewalt products indicates that they can make some decent tools but their quality control is pretty poor. This is different-it's just poorly designed. The metal hinge on the latch is held by relatively thin ribs of plastic. It takes very little lateral force to break the plastic. Within the last few days I saw that Dewalt is going to be releasing their updated tough system tool boxes soon. One of the only noticeable differences between the new version and the original version is that the latches on the new system have been redesigned and resemble the latches on the Milwaukee Packout system. That suggests that Dewalt was aware that the latches were a weak point so it's very frustrating that there was a critical problem that had such a simple redesign solution and it was sold that way for years. I wouldn't have bought these if the reviews hadn't been overwhelmingly positive but I genuinely can't square my experience with the previous positive reviews. I did see a number of reviews here and on other sites that described the same problem that I had, as well as broken handles, but a very small percentage of the reviews. I purchased 3 boxes and had 3 broken latches in 8 days. I also must stress that I placed essentially no physical demand on these. The first two product failures happened before I even began to use these for work. Because Ridgid's mobile tool boxes are very close in price to these tough system boxes, because Dewalt is coming out with an updated version of these (if they're close in price), and because of the multiple product failures without being in working conditions, I have to say very plainly that these just should not be purchased at all.

The items arrived into very large boxes. I guess because of the combined weight they couldn't ship it as one. Everything arrived in good working order no damage do any of the items. I should have spent more time shopping around cuz I could have purchased it elsewhere at the same price with free shipping, that is my only disappointment. The O-rings on each case is a bonus, I don't have to worry about water getting to my tools, if I have the cases in the back of the truck. Looking forward to buying more of this work system in the future.

Great product ! I love the portability, also the fact that they're stackable and interchangeable. This along side a rolling job box and I'm able to move around jobs with all my tools and materials by myself.

Very nice box I use for my batteries and charger to go with whole tough system kit. It works very well as I'm able to wheel all my tools around the production studios where I work. I also did some custom paint as I did not like the yellow trim. I also didn't care for the metal lockdown clasps.

I purchase blades for my 20v portable band saw. The saw works flawlessly as the blades failed just after a few cuts.

I received the DS130 and DS450 as a gift this past father's day. the latches lasted about 3 months. I'm a pretty handy person and after I looked at the design of these boxes they're not designed to be repaired or replaced. they are held in with a single pan head screwed into a plastic block. I've owned a similar tool storage system from Rigid and have been very happy with those. I expected the Dewalt cases would have been just as reliable.

It's great it keeps all my tools dry and organized the only thing I don't like about it is the price very expensive its almost as much as a metal job box.

Having to take care of a few different properties I purchased this unit in order to organize all of the tools I have. Was very sick of trying to find things and wanted some sort of solution to be able to roll everything into my truck when need be and be able to find it when I need it. Honestly it was a tough decision. I compared Dewalt against Husky, Rigid, and Milwaukee. I think each has their advantages and disadvantages. The Milwaukee costs a lot more, granted it is a very nice unit I'm not sure it's worth the price. The husky seems to be the best bang for the buck but also has the least amount of options. I really liked the rigid also but wasn't a fan of the bottom box having the top come completely off without a hinge and also had limited options on the boxes. However, I think the latching system between boxes on the rigid seems much more solid. The Dewalt seems to be the sweet spot between price, quality and options. I'm not a fan of the latching system box to box. I have read that it breaks a lot but we shall see. It's also kind of a pain to get it latched and unlatched until they loosen up. The tilt back handle is very nice in that the lid flips all the way up leaving you unencumbered access to the box. However the handle is pretty tall and will not fit under most truck bed covers if you happen to have one. Otherwise the quality seems decent, it rolls nice and is easy to organize tools and parts for the most part. I ended up adding the DS400 box I believe it is and the DS100 parts organizers in order to organize fasteners and fit all of my tools in. I think it's hard to have a perfect solution for this as everyone organizes differently but I think all the tool companies are on the right track and the Dewalt system I think is the best value and versatility right now.

Good quality,I have all tough system in my job

I have been using these tough boxes for a few years now and they are pretty decent. I like to use them with a DS carrier rather than the stackable position, but these boxes now have new latches on the side and hold very tight. I've use this large box for drills and lights and has enough space for them. It will hold a Milwaukee compact radius light upright. The boxes do get extremely hot in the heat which they do come with a vent on them.

Very well made to last.

Seems to be well made and I like that it has a rubber seal for water resistance.
