This product is awesome. Today, I emptied all six containers and put the refill crystals in. It was very simple to pour the liquid out and throw the used crystals into the garbage. The linen scent is very pleasant. I have a storage room in my house that is not air conditioned. I can feel the dryness that the damp rid containers provide. I highly reccomend this product.

I got a half dozen of these to put around my house to help with the excess moisture and odors.Super easy to assemble, remove the bag with the scented crystals in it and dump them back into the container. Then just place where you need it at. It has a nice fragrance, but it's not overwhelming, very subtle unless you are on top of it. The crystals dissolve as it traps the moisture and goes to the bottom of the container. Once all of the crystals are gone, simply pour out the water and it can easily be refilled again with some more crystals. I put one next to the cat litter box and while there wasn't a lot of moisture there, it did help to eliminate some of the odors. The one I had in the closet where our AC unit is trapped the most moisture and was half full last time I checked it (or half empty depending on how you look at it). I saw on the website that you can buy just the crystals in bulk to make it easier to refill.

I used the DampRid in my basement. Due to the size I needed to place three in various locations. They seemed to work well along with my dehumidifier. The scent was pleasant but not overpowering. As you can see from the pictures, the crystals absorb the moisture and drop it into the container below. When first set in place the crystals were even with the top of the container but as moisture is absorbed, some settling and migration to the water below can be noticed. Nice product if used even just for the elimination of the musty smells a damp basement can produce.

I have always wanted to try out this product so I am glad I finally got the opportunity to do that. Damprid is simple to use and it is effective. I have a rental unit that is situated partially below ground. As a result, it sometimes smells a little musty after it has rained a bit. I put one of these tubs in the unit and after a day, there is no musty smell whatsoever. I would not recommend using this in a small area because I think the smell might be a little overpowering - unless you really like the scent. My studio unit is about 500 square feet and it works just fine - hardly noticeable. I also have a tub in our storage room and in the garage. The crystals start to harden and clump together as they gather moisture. Not sure how long it will be until I have to replace it. Will depend on how much moisture is captured in each area. Totally satisfied with this product and will be a long-time customer based on my results to date.

This is the first time using Damprid even though I've known about it for years. What a surprise as far as versatility! My basement has a dehumidifier so I didn't think beyond that. First I used it in a closet that has no airflow and always seems dusty. Not musty smelling but dusty; too many clothes crammed in I'm sure. Well, this little bucket took care of that in no time. The next area that always smelled damp and stale to me was a shed holding garden and pool items. I placed a container on the shelf and was pleasantly surprised with the results. The most surprising area I tried it in was a small alcove, maybe 4' x 5' that holds 3 large litter boxes. I never thought of the space as damp or musty but after placing Damprid in there I'm amazed at how quickly it's drawing water and absorbing odors!

I love this product. Damprid is great for basements and attic spaces. My basement get very humid in the summer and this works great for pulling moisture out of the air. The crystals have a nice smell so not only does it take the moisture out it also helps get rid of that musty basement smell. The water collects in the bottom of the container, when all the crystals are gone you dumb the water out and can refill or dispose of. It depends on how much moisture is in the air how fast it fills up. I have these in all of the rooms of my basement and it definitely helps.

This DampRid container has only a very slight scent to it, but it is pleasant. My spare room was an "add-on" Florida room years ago, and most of it was converted to an enclosed spare room. I use it as a guest room, but I discovered that the wood bed frame was covered with mildew. I cleaned it off and placed 2 DampRid containers in the room, one in a wardrobe type closet, and one under a bedside table behind a trash can. This should help keep moisture under control. They are easy to use - just put the white insert inside the pot, add the crystals. place the cover on top, and put the container where moisture is evident. Check it every month or two, as water will collect in the bottom and you need to dispose of it and refill the container.

Love these! I put them in all my closets and the basement. They smell great, I have the pure linen scent and really enjoy the clean crisp smell. These are so easy to use and there is a refill bag that can be purchased to just continue using the same container. My closets are a joy to open knowing there is not moisture to make them smell musty and the pure linen smell just pours out.

The product is small enough to be discreet if necessary, but it really does a fantastic job. I have been using this brand for 9 years. I am new to the scented version. The scent is not strong, but pleasantly there. I use it in our finished basement. We have a large furnished den area, bar area, full bath, bedroom and walk in closet. It is a basement but definitely an area that is used daily. Damp Rid has been eliminating any potential of moisture or a musty scent for the 9 years we have lived here. Every time I empty the container, I am shocked at the amount of water pulled out of the air by this little container. It is a very dry basement, but it is a basement. The scented product is nice, but it is similar to the products you sprinkle on carpeting and then vacuum, but not as strong. Personally, I prefer the unscented version, but I am sensitive to perfume type products. I feel everyone has a use for this product. You can put it a covered stored boat. We use it in our classic car when we cover it and store it for the winter. All in all, the product does what it claims, and worth every penney!

This damp rid smells great. I used it in tow of my closets that always smell a stale and a tiny bit damp. It really fresh end up the stair air without too much of a heavy perfume smell. As you can see from the attached pictures, the container is not too big and does not take up a lot of space. If I were to improve on one thing, I would make the containers a little bit better looking but as far as working, they seem to do their job!

DampRid Pure Linen Refillable Moisture Absorber - 10.5oz DampRid’s 'bucket' absorbs excess moisture from the air - easy set up, bucket reusable. Can help prevent damage to clothing, fabric, furniture, indoor plants and other household items in basements, bathrooms, garages, stored boats, RV's, attics, offices, utility rooms, the crawl space, shops and more. Simply empty contents of bag into the bucket and forget it. Product then goes to work attracting moisture from room, and envelopes area with a fresh scent. Product comes in fragrance and fragrance-free. Absorbs excess moisture from the air then fully dissolves into a septic-safe liquid that can be disposed of in the toilet. NOTE: take precautions when using around children and pets. While it says non-toxic, calcium chloride can cause a skin irritation if you come in contact with skin.

This product has handled my appartments mold problem and musty smells
I bought this product after being recommended by several Reddit users of my mold issue. I started noticing that my south FL apartment, which was built in the '70s, started getting a VERY musty, moldy smell to it. The rooms felt very humid and muggy. I noticed that all of my leather goods and clothing which were stored for about 5 months in my closets were completely covered with green mold, unable to be saved. So, back to the product. I bought two of these containers and placed them in the rooms/ AC closet, and noticed that the moisture was coming mainly from the AC unit. In two weeks both of these filled up to capacity with dirty water, my rooms smelled fresh and crisp for once. I haven't followed up on the mold problem from the closets as I stopped storing things in there out of fear that my clothing will be ruined again, but I'm most certainly positive that this has reduced the moisture in the air SO effectively that there wouldn't be much humidity for mold to grow. I have gone and bought the 7.5lbs refill as well and cant wait to continue using it and recommending it to anyone.

I wanted to reduce the humidity in my primary bedroom's bathroom. I do have a ceiling mounted exhaust vent to expel the humid air after showering, however, I wanted a solution to continually dry out the room. The DampRid Pure linen scented refillable moisture absorbent was a solution to remove this extra humidity 24/7. The product has a clean fresh smell and eliminated any musty odors in the bathroom. The DampRid kits are also great to put in the laundry room, kitchen, nursery, camper, home office or anywhere you want dryer air. The kit I had was easy to deploy, you only need to cut open the bag of crystals and pour the contents into the top tray of the cup and snap on the lid. Once the crystal are used up, you only need to pour out the water in the cup into a toilet, then refill with new crystals. You can buy the kit in multiple scent choices to your liking.

This is our first time trying a DampRid product and we are impressed. The Refillable Moisture Absorber Cups are so easy to use, just open the bag of granules, pour in the top and put the blue cover back on and place in an area that you want to absorb moisture. We put one in our entryway that can get damp from the humidity, as well as the laundry room. The dampness in these areas seems to have dissipated, leaving the area with a nice scent of Pure Linen and not a musty odor. We haven’t had it long enough to know how long the canister will last, but I imagine that it has to do with the amount of moisture in the area. I like that it’s available in 3 scents as well as fragrance free.

I have used DampRid in the past to absorb moisture in a garage that I later turned into an office. I recently acquired it specifically for three areas: an outdoor shed, an HVAC utility room, and a non-vented bathroom. The shed is now being used to store quite a few items so I want to keep the moisture to a minimum. The HVAC room is musty and always seems a little damp. The bathroom in question doesn't have an exhaust fan so it gets a little musty at times. It's easy to use, just pour it in a refillable cup and place it wherever you desire.

This product is great. Just the package and the looks would give you your monies worth. It is extremely easy to use and the smell of it is very refreshing. My apartment has a lot of moisture due to being over the building boiler room and the clothes in the closet sometimes feel very moist. This is definitely going to help me get most of the moisture out while the apartment smells refreshed

We've been using damp raid for years, and it's the best thing we've found so far besides electric ones. It saves money and you don't have to worry about it starting or stopping. I didn't want to take pictures of it in use but we have emptied the container and have been able to buy and use the refills saving a little bit more money. Current we have one in our laundry room and garage, you would be surprised at how much moisture this collects.

Effective moisture absorbent. I had my doubts about the efficacy of this, but within a day it was drawing moisture out of whatever environment I was placing it in. The crystals were already showing moisture and once damp places like my laundry room seem to be doing better with the moisture problem, and the scent from these things is pleasant so it almost acts as an scented air freshener to boot. Just about the only complaint I have is that the crystals are easy to spill, but just a minor complaint.

Damprid is great, does what it says it will do. Easy to set up, just open the bag of granules, pour in the top and put the blue cover back on and sit it where you want it to absorb moisture. I have used the non scented version before and the linen scent is definitely stronger when you first open the bag and start using it. But after a little while it dissipates and is not as strong. I had a water fountain leak and vacuumed up the water but there was definitely a musty smell, but after two days went back in area and you could not tell there had been a water leak, musty smell was gone. The reservoir had about 1 cup of water in it. easy clean up. I have mentioned it to friends that have RV's and they said it is a regular thing for them to put in their RV when not using it for a while. Highly recommend..

Pure Linen scent Damp Rid removes mildew and odor in my basement.
I wanted a product to help with the mildew growing all around my water treatment system in the basement. This product is ideal. It is easy to use and really helps with the excess moisture removal in that area. One refill lasts a couple of months in my conditions, yours might need more or less frequent changes. Pour the crystals in the container, done! It is simple to pour out the water that it collects and put another economical refill into the container.

First time trying this product. The Pure Linen Scent is nice, not an over bearing strong fragrance. We use them on our sailboat in a variety of places. From the head to several of the lockers that we use for cloths storage and supplies. Works great in removing moisture from those locations, we were surprised how much moisture they removed. Will buy more as needed.

DampRid’s Pure Linen Scent Moisture Absorber is designed to provide clean, fresh and inviting spaces for the elimination of musty odors by removing moisture from the air. It comes in a 10.5 ounce plastic tub consisting of 4 separate items. There is the container tub itself, the lid, a plastic strainer, and the Calcium Chloride crystals. The crystals are packed in an air tight bag and are poured into the plastic strainer. The lid is placed back on the container. Then the entire container is placed in a closet or other area prone to high humidity. As humid air passes over the tub the Calcium Chloride attracts the excess moisture out of the air and traps it in the tub, leaving more comfortable air. The DampRid is projected to last up to 60 days and does not require batteries or electricity. . I am using the DampRid in a bedroom closet which has little air circulation. The closet is prone to higher levels of humidity because of the lack of air circulation. So far things to be working as anticipated.

I requested the DampRid 10.5 oz. in the Pure Linen Scent Refillable Moisture Absorber, from the Home Depot seed program to try to get the musty odor out of my foyer closet where we put our sneaker and shoes . As we all know our sneaker do get wet on a occasion and that odor can get pretty ripe. the convent 10.5 oz size is just right for a a closet, in the laundry room or in the bathroom without taking up a lot of space. I tried cleaning my sneaker and the musty odor was still in the closet . The DampRid been in the closet for about 2 weeks and the musty odor is all most gone. I will definitely be buying the refills as when you want to refill just pop the top off and pour out the water and pour the granular in then put the top back on.

I deactivated the laundry room dehumidifier @ 29 degrees and activated a canister of DampRid for a 14 day test period. After the fifth day the humidity read 33 degrees and has remained constant at this level during the balance of the test period. The volume of drying crystals consumed during the test period was negatable. The canister is easy to clean and refillable. The product was easy to set up and activate and also deodorized the room.

The DampRid Pure Linen Scent Moisture Absorber is remarkable at absorbing damp musty odor from areas or rooms that have a tendency of accumulating moisture for any of a number of reasons. We have this 10oz reusable containers all over the house, including food pantries, laundry room, closets, under the kitchen sink and partially the basement. Collecting excess moisture from any room is important but I find that its especially important in the lower levels of the house where the cool moist air tends to lead to rust build up in appliances and even radiators. This product helps to reduce the problems that lead to moisture related problems. DampRid sells a number of different contains of the crystals that absorb the moisture, so the little 10oz container is not the only option.

We live on the shoreline and humidity is always an issue in our house. On top of that, we also have a high water table . We have been using damp rid products for several years in our home. We use these refillable containers in all of our closets. They are simple to set up and work extremely well. My only complaint is when you have to empty the container. It can be a bit messy. I suggest wearing disposable gloves while doing this chore.

      works well
i've used these for years. they absorb water very well! This particular model comes with an insert and a top with an open grill. you open the pouch with the crystals and pour it into one aerated cup that fits into another and then you place the plastic grill on top. this way the liquid that is absorbed by the crystals, which appear flat and white when new and dry, falls into the bottom container. Otherwise the crystals would become a blob. while the crystals work they become round and yellow. The liquid that comes through the smaller insert into the larger cup is a bit greasy but there is no need to touch it. I just pour it into the toilet and flush and there is no residue. The only con is the fragrance when the crystals are new. This smell dissipates after a few days. However, I understand that you can also purchase a fragrance-free variety. I use this one in my bathroom. it is small enough to hide behind the toilet. I use many DampRid products in different rooms. You can't beat the price and it lasts a long time - at least several months.

      A great product
I've used another DampRid product before with great results but but have never used this one with the refillable container. I've also never used one with the "fresh scent" before. I got this for my basement. While it's not visibly damp down there, it does have that distinct damp smell that many unfinished basements have. And mine has it year-round so I thought I'd give this a try since it's refillable. I placed this on the floor in the center of my basement and already see it going to work. The white pellets are starting to absorb the moisture. It says that it will last up to 45 days so we'll see if it'll last that long. Honestly, I think this product is too small for a basement because of the potential moisture it will end up absorbing. But that's not the product's fault it's mine for using it in a larger area that it's not really designed for. As for the scent, it reminds me of moth balls, which is a scent I don't care for. If you use it in a small space like a closet or bathroom, be prepared to be overwhelmed because the fragrance is quite powerful. They do offer a fragrance free product so keep that in mind if you don't like strong scents.

      update on Damp-Rid review!
I have submitted a review for Damp-Rid before, but I have tried another product that I recently put to the test, and Damp-Rid blew away the competition. I conducted my own test of a similar product, made by Kaboom, that is supposed to help reduce moisture in a specific area, but side to side, the Damp-Rid was far and away the best at collecting moisture! The 2 containers were placed near to each other in a damp closet - the Kaboom was placed 2 weeks before I tried the Damp-Rid, and had collected no moisture whatsoever, but I placed Damp-Rid in the closet and within a week, it had already made a significant collection, whereas the Kaboom showed no sign of liquid at all. I think this explains why the Damp-Rid is the main product sold for such a purpose in most grocery and hardware stores! It works!
