I am replacing my fencing. I am using these screws. Alot of them are breaking. I never had that issue with drywall screws. These are breaking after I put them into the wood. They really need to up their game on quality.

Screws work as advertised. Nice to have the bit included

I am not that fond of deckmate screws since they shortened the amount of thread on the screws. They are easier to strip out and can be a pain to remove. These shorter ones didn't have that problem and cinched in good fastening subfloor to floor joists.

Would like to have them in a 5 lbs plastic tub.

Found some cheaper ones at another store and they were unusable. Every screw either broke off or stripped. Bought these from Home Depot and was able to finish the deck without issue.

After using the Deckmate screws, I hope I never have to use Philips head screws again! These are excellent! I used hundreds (1000's?) on a project for siding, OSB on the roof, assembling shelves, etc. I haven't had a head strip yet, and I've gone through 10+ pounds of screws in various lengths from 1 5/8 up to 5".

better than using drywall screws for certain jobs

Screws work great. A small percentage have too much coating in the head and will not sit on the driver bit so I couldn’t drive them. But for the most part they worked well. Too soon to verify if they never rust.

Good product I have used these before

I have been using Deckmate Self-Starting screws for over 10 years. Why? First, I have yet to have one break-off while screwing it into any board. Second, Deckmate is constantly re-engineering their screws to do a better job which is incredible. Third, I like the option of being able to buy these in larger tubs (I haven't been able to get one for the past 2 years). Fourth, since I own the properties where I use these for fences and decks, if a board warps, falls apart, or I just need to remove it years later, I can and have and typically can reuse it which I love. So while these fasteners seem expensive, in the long run they are a good value.
