My wife and I recently had our fence stained, and wanted some new fence post caps to accent the color we chose. We decided on these primarily due to the aesthetic look of the copper tops and purchased 24 of them!! Can't beat the price!! We are in the early stages of evaluation due to some of the reviews and how the metal has prematurely oxidized for some. In essence I'm simultaneously reviewing two products at the moment. The caps themselves, and a product I purchased to protect them from the elements. The manufacturer recommends using car wax to add a protective coating, but we chose a product called Everbrite Protective Coating. It's uniquely designed to protect metals like copper when used in an outdoor application and will last longer than car wax. I suggest you consider this as an excellent pairing for you new post caps. We love the caps so far, and they look fantastic on our fence!! Give them some TLC by protecting the metal and staining the pressure treated pine you should be just fine!! These shiny copper caps look great on the corner posts of my deck stairs. Really make a classy statement.

My husband I recently fenced two sides of our daughter's back yard (the previous owners had already fenced the other two sides). We are just "do-it-yourselfers", but with every project that we do, we try to use great care in doing it right and get the best possible materials at an affordable price. We needed 13 post caps. So, spending $10 - $15 per cap would have added up to quite a lot of money. We looked a number of places...in stores and online and found nothing that even came close to the quality and attractiveness of this cap for this price. This cap is the perfect finish to the fence at an affordable price. The instructions say to affix to the post with construction adhesive, so we used Liquid Nails, which worked perfectly. I also read that applying car wax initially and every 3 - 6 months will help the caps to keep their nice copper finish. So, we did that, as well. I think these should be sold in Home Depot stores (rather than online only). I would definitely recommend this product.

Was looking for a flat top plastic cap for the mailbox post. Can't find them in the stores. Saw this online and it's such a beautifully crafted piece for not much more than the cheapy plastic ones. Luv it!!

Cooper painted plastic. Looks cheap and hideous. I ended up buying a metal solar lighted cap instead. It looks much, much better.

No where in the description does it say these are plastic topped wood post caps. They look nice but are copper colored plastic. We were expecting copper or copper plated stainless steel. Very deceptive.

Plastic, not copper as stated

The caps are too small to fit on a pressure treated 4x4 post without modification. Super frustrating!

Well made, but not available in Canada. I had to purchase it in the USA, ship it to a store close to my friend. He then picked it up and delivered it when he came across the border to visit.

These look great on my new fence and the price was far cheaper at Home Depot than other sellers.

These worked out amazing for my deck. The Price was excellent. Everywhere else I looked these were very expensive. I like that the cap is plastic because it will not tarnish or rust, but looks very high quality.

These are great additions. They're well made, and look great (after staining, even better). Aside from the attractive copper color, these metal topped caps seal the post tops from the weather, which with a quality stain, should double the post's life. Plus, they only cost us 1/3 more when we purchased ours at Lowes (special order only). They're $9.64, less about $1 off for their QSP volume pricing agreement (we bought $1000's in materials for our house build), but Home Depot's price still beats Lowes by a couple of bucks per post. Your choice, your price, I guess.

They look exactly as pictured. Because of several reviews complaining about the caps turning black, rather than developing a patina, I cleaned them with alcohol and sprayed a protective coating on them. Time will tell, but they look great so far!

While these start out gorgeous, they don't stay that way long. After a short time, they started turning black and the metal began to lift off. I removed the metal off the caps, cleaned them, sealed it with clear paint, and reglued them. A month into this winter, several are turning black and even rusting in spots.

Overall, the product is priced appropriately for its overall quality. However, when received, two of the units had pieces broken off. I repaired the products myself rather than going through the return and exchange process.

These products are a little less fancy than the more expensive models, but appear to be well made and look good. I purchased 32 of these caps and I had a problem with 5 of them being too tight to fit on the posts. I filed down the posts to get them on, but still had to force them on. Unfortunately, a couple of them are splitting at the seams because of this. So, they probably won't last. I purchased online.
