I'm a professional home remodeler, I have installed hundreds of acrylic showers/tubs and surrounds. The overall installation of the product is easy, as long as your walls and floor is plumb and level. My customers purchased this product and asked me to install it. I was asked what kind of grout should be used with this product? I've seen acrylic expand and shrink up to 3/8. I advised that it would be best to call the manufacturer to get the correct grout, so it won't crack. The manufacturer could not provide one, their solution was to call grout companies to hopefully find an answer. If you make a product then you need to provide a recommendation of products to use with it. The skirt of the tub is very flimsy (any acrylic tub skirt is, unless it's reinforced), their provided spacer is inadequate. You would be better off installing a 2x4 on the floor with butyl tape to adhere to the back side of the skirt. The walls install easy, but they rub each other (the rubbing goes away after the wall panels are caulked together). The bottoms also bow slightly in the center, you'll have to reinforce all the bottoms till the adhesive sets up. The double sided tape does not have enough holding power to keep in in place. When installing the tiles with the reccomend adhesive, make sure you put lot's of tile spacers in. It does not hold the tiles in place adequately, they will slide down and apply weight to the spacers. This can cause the spacers to pop out, due to the rounded edge it sits on.

Plan on it being a 2-person need in moving and installing this product. We we un-crated both boxes, it came in great condition and there are additional instructions clearly identified on the exterior box on how to un-crate and install this product. I'd recommend reading the instructions, over, a few times if you're a novice. The quality is what you would expect from DELTA. I'll provide the finish installation once I've framed the Bathroom in my basement, over the next couple of weeks.

The UPstile 32 in. x 60 in. x 60 in. Bath and Shower Kit with Classic 400 Left-Hand Drain in White is a nice alternative to the traditional basic panels and an easier project to tackle than any tiled shower walls. The tub is solid and deep. The tub was very simple to install and straightforward. A solid and level floor is key here. The finish with this set is flawless and is easy to clean and will last for one many years. The overall installation requires one to be fairly skilled in framing and plumbing while careful preparation and planning is the key to a quality installation. The instructions are well illustrated but not two jobs are the same. So take your time and read everything and plan ahead. I did notice the panels are not as stiff as one would expect so I modified my wall to provide a more solid surface. I was using an existing tub area that was primarily the measurements I needed (60 inch) and this made my project easier. I chose to use a concrete board product (screwed to studs) for wet locations and a few shim strips to get my dimensions perfect. The corners require exact dimensions and these home-made shims worked perfect. I ripped them from 2x4's on my portable table saw and achieved great results. The fit was smooth and these panels glued well to my concrete backing. I did over glue here a bit-lol! The sky's the limit with tile options sold here at the Home Depot and the installation was a breeze since I have experience with tiling. My wife had fun selecting a tile for her bath theme. There are a lot of helpful videos online for those not familiar with tile installation. Please review these first to determine if a project this involved is for you. I highly recommend the budget friendly UPstile 32 in. x 60 in. x 60 in. Bath and Shower Kit with Classic 400 Left-Hand Drain in White tub and panel set. This is an excellent alterative to tile and lets the home owner personalize his/her own décor. Nice quality set!

The tub is not a slick finish. EVERYTHING sticks to it. The finish on the surround is shiny on bottom and dull on top. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to find the kind of caulk and adhesive required to do the job.

The walls are super flimsy and they don't click into the tub, like I thought they would, which ultimately made it really difficult to stand properly. Other than that, the tub itself is excellent. The design/concept needs some work though.

Poor material

This surround works well for price sensitive buyers. It doesn't look like real tile, it won't fool anyone. However, it's much better than the flat acrylic panels that have been used in the past. The tile design has the grout joints indented to mimic real tile, and I guess if you wanted to paint them a different color you could enhance the look. There is a mosaic tile ribbon that runs horizontal across the upper part that you can put real tile to make it look much better. Read the installation instructions before you start. It's not hard, but not easy either. You have to be comfortable doing construction and measurements because you have to cut out for the valve and maybe the shower and tub spout. There is only a little room for errors with the trim covers, so if you cut it wrong, you have to repurchase the product, I don't think they will sell one piece. Make sure you purchase the correct "handed" version, valve on right or left. Make sure your tub is 5' x 32", there is little room for different sizes.

This two in one tub and surround is great if you want to get your bathroom updated the right way. No more having to fuss with the surround sticking to the wall and making sure it has been caulked right. This simply is connected to the studs and you're good to go. The tub is a nice durable tub and the tile in the surround make this entire piece look like you've slaved over the look for a little while not in a couple of hours. Easy to install and came boxed in two pieces so very easy to move and there's even a template on the tub box to use.

This set is just beautiful! The tub walls are really strong, solid, and I love the great glossy shine. It makes your bathroom look sparking clean. It is new, but I expect this great glossy shine to make water stains wash off easier when I clean, which I also like. I have a friend who will only buy a porcelain tub, dislikes anything else, fears anything else is not as dense, not strong, durable. That has NOT been my experience at all; I totally disagree. My house was built in 1984, the original house pre-additions (2) had 1.5 baths. That original one piece tub/shower unit (1984) remains strong, looking great. It could pass for brand new. I now have 3.5 baths, and I think this set is a beauty. The shower walls look great, shiny, EASY TO CLEAN. I have tile in my kitchen, also in 3.5 baths, and a hallway; I LOVE MY TILE, but re-grouting it is brutal, scrubbing white grout is also brutal, something I can live without. These dont need to be done often, but it is brutal.. I was told all of the old grout must be manually scraped out to replace it... My kitchen now needs to be regrouted after 35 years. With this shower wall, you won't have the maintenance of grouting regular tile, it is more maintenance free. I also like that there is a strip in this set which allows you to customize YOUR SET to your liking, add your own touch to give it a special flare, which also makes it look really customized. I like the idea of customizing it to MY LIKING, which will include co-ordinating that tile with my granite countertop to make it look really great. I will need to add some tile that will need grout, but that is not a large area. Re-grouting is a chore, but in this case, it is not a large area at all. The area that will have grout is also in an elevated position; it won't get the water abuse that lower areas will, so it may never need regrouting ever, I am not sure. In any case, grout would only be used in a very small area, so the mainenance on this unit is expected to be minimal. I think this set is really nice, also strong, in spite of it being lightweight, and I would recommend it! I would not think any less of it because it is lightweight. Over time, things change... look where we are with TV sets; heavier does not necessarily mean better. It is also made by Delta. Delta has been doing this for a long time, they are NOT amateurs, hardly. Delta produces a LOT of great products, and I would say that this unit meets their high quality standards, and at a reasonable price. I think you will love it!

Went to put this bathtub in at a customers house and was absolutely shocked when I was told how expensive it was. As stated above, it’s about as flimsy as a paper plate. The skirt support doesn’t work, and the whole tub was nothing short of a nightmare to install. If you want to put something this cheap feeling in your home, save yourself about $450 and buy a cheaper tub. Would not recommend. If I could I’d give it less stars.
