This Product is Great! What a great value!

Probably would have helped but I had to order it since Home Depot didn't stock it, Wife wanted the disposal installed "now: so I went ahead and muscled the unit in place. Three star rating is really for Home Depot for not stocking the item.

The description of this is quite poor. I thought it was a tool to help hold down strainer for new installation of a garbage disposal. That's not what it's for it's meant for you to be able to take it down from the sink kind of useless but I just kept it for the heck of it

This is a very useful tool to have, even if you are not going to install a garbage disposal all that often. I am a big fan of using tools that make your life easier when doing a project, this is definitely one of them. Disposals are heavy, which makes installation awkward due to the need to hold the disposal as you screw it in place under the sink. This rather simple tool holds the disposal in place so you don't have to. I've appreciated a similar concept I've been seeing with some light fixtures that include a short cord to hold a light fixture while you are wiring it for a ceiling mount. I have to agree with another's comment that this tool should be located in the store next to the disposals.

Got this to use when installing garbage disposals as part of home rehab projects. I don't know about you, but I have always disliked having to hold the disposal while I reach up under the cabinet and get it connected. This product enables you to be able to use both hands while handling the disposal without the risk of dropping it. I think it's ingenious and a rather handy product to have around. Since it simply makes the process of installing a garbage disposal that much easier, I highly recommend it.

What a product, I wish I thought of it. The best part is you have time to make adjustments when the DR. Disposal is locked in place. You can move the disposal around to adjust the lock ring on the disposal. This tool is so easy to use.

I was almost excited when a tenant called with a bad garbage disposal! I got this tool hoping it would make it easier to attach a new InSinkErator Badger disposal. The toughest thing to do is hold the new disposal up to the bottom of the sink with one hand, line up the attachment ring and get all 3 tabs to line up with my other hand. It worked! You use this tool to hook inside the top of the disposal, pull it up to the sink, then use a cross bar to hold it there, allowing me to use BOTH hands to line up the attachment ring. The cross bar even has rubber ends so I don't scratch the sink. Suggestion: The instructions that came with it are kind of lacking. Before using it, go to their web site and watch the quick "how to" video on using the tool. (www.disposalphd.com)

This product I requested because I have changed many garbage disposals in my house over the years and they are such a pain. Having this tool will make the job much easier. I don't have a use for it at this time but it will be nice to have when I have to replace the garbage disposal next time and it will make the job much easier and less hassle. It is nice to get things that will help with future projects.

This tool is made well and very durable. The stainless is not only strong, but it has a nice appeal to it. I've only had the tool for a short time, so it hasnt been used yet, but the quality of it in your hands, tells me that I'll be pleased with it. It's such a handy tool, I'm considering purchasing g a few extras to give to my coworkers for Christmas gifts. I recommend purchasing if your looking.

Receive the tool and was surprised by the simplicity of the design. Wish I would have thought of it. I’ve installed several disposals by myself and this tool would have been a great tool to help with the installation. Haven’t used it as of this writing but most likely to in the near future. Have advised several of my DIY friends of this tool and am ready to use it.

I got this on a whim, but I am hopeful it saves the day someday. I've installed dozens of garbage disposals and never once thought I would need a tool. I understand the value of this tool and how it could be a life saver, but generally speaking I've not had a ton of trouble replacing garbage disposals. I think it's a good tool to have, but definitely not necessary for replacing a disposal, even alone.

Another product for our impending kitchen remodel! Haven't gotten to put it to use yet, but am very happy about the video that is on the ordering page. It looks like a very straight-forward operation and should make the DIY process much easier! I am glad to see that the top cross piece is covered by rubber at the ends that will rest against the new sink so as not to damage that while installing the disposal.

I have used the doctor disposal garbage disposal installation tool two different times since I have had it, I wish I would have had one of these years ago because it is so nice and easy to install garbage disposals by yourself. This is a must-have tool 4 any plumber or handyman who work by themselves. Doctor disposal is like having an extra pair of hands, which comes in very handy when laying on your back and a kitchen cabinet.

Great tool whoever thought of it. Never saw one before but I love it. One of my least favorite tasks has always been laying on my back inside the sink cabinet, holding up the garbage disposal with one hand trying to turn the lock with the other. This works perfect. Once the tool is installed as directed, the disposal can be lifted into place while standing at the sink. It is then held in place while engaging the twist lock under the sink. Well designed, solid features and made to not scratch the sink. Worked perfect
