Hello! The air filter slot in our refrigerators is not connected to a sensor; the replacement light for the air and water filters is on a 6 month timer to remind you when it is time to change them! On most models, you can reset it by highlighting the alert on the front display and holding down "set". Otherwise, check the manual for instructions on your specific refrigerator. ~Ashton
