This looks like it's sturdy, but is too small for the project I intended it for. There are some imperfections in the casting but the plating appears to be uniform. The total height from mounting surface to the lowest point is 2-1/4"; it's 3" wide. The distance between the top of the hook and the mounting surface is 1-1/4" so you cannot hang something that is larger than that. The mounting plate drops about 1/4" from the mounting surface, so at the outer edge, there's 1" clearance between it and the hook. The mounting screws are 3/4" long and look like a #6--they are Philips drive.

I received the top mount hook today it comes with mounting screws. It has a satin nickle steel finish and is fairly heavy, made of steel. I got the top mount model to hang items in my storage shed, it will hold a large item but not to heavy probably only about ten pounds. It would also be nice to hang a potted plant from. I thought about putting in my patio area with a plant but the shed won out.

We were looking for a hook that didn’t hang down too far. We are putting it underneath a bar and we didn’t want it to hit the knees of the customers. Everywhere else we looked for hooks they seemed too long. But these hooks work perfectly and installed very easily. We love the way it looks and functions!

I love that there are different finish options such as satin nickel or oil rubbed bronze. It's helpful that it includes matching screws. I bought 5 for a coat rack project I was working on and it turned out fantastic!

I made an overhead pot/pan rack using these hooks. They are nicely made and have a great brushed nickel finish.

I’m actually using them for hooks for my resistance bands. They are holding up pretty well. The design is perfect and easy to install. I used longer screws for better hold to mounting board.

Double duty in a single hook! Ideal to hang grow lights individual bulbs. I am sure one can use them for many, many other projects.
