This is a review on Home Depots on-line service. I ordered two locks. Fours days later I received one lock and one roll of electrical tape. I comminicate with Home Depot support and they said to contact my credit card company and report it so they can ioen a claim. All I wanted was my second lock. 1 star home depot = 1 lock received.

Home Depot is one of my favorite shopping places. The Google Nest Mini was just what I needed.

The sound quality is superb and the price is incredible. The design includes a notch on the back to be used to hang it on the wall with one small nail.

Google Nest is an excellent gadget. It’s very useful for my daily living.The timer keeps my eggs perfectly cooked, songs & Melody keep my spirit up; it updates me with current events, weather and lots of other information, and very user friendly. I love my Google Nest.

I had bought one of these last year as a Christmas gift for my s/o. We both loved it so much we got one again this Christmas! Now one is in our bedroom and one is in our living room so we do not have to keep bringing one with us as we change rooms. We use it as our alarm clock (you can set multiple alarms), as a timer when cooking, to set background music while working, to ask general questions when we want to see who is right about something, to listen to podcasts and music while cleaning, and we also both love learning about "The Animal of the Day" even though we are both in our 20s, haha. We don't have all the fancy lightbulbs to be able to control the lights and such, but I am sure that works just as well as everything else. Setup takes some knowledge with apps, so if you are getting this for someone not gifted with tech-y skills, you may want to give them a hand with setup. After that, though, everything is voice controlled, so anyone should have an easy time using it. :) Only thing that I noticed was that the cord is white while the Google Nest itself is charcoal grey. Nothing but aesthetics, but I wished the cord was grey to match the Nest.

Love it, works great. I use it, at the kitchen, on top of the entrance for best sound.

It doesn't do much

What an absolutely lousy product. I followed all instructions and encountered one problem after another. "something went wrong" (see screen shot) Finally got Nest Connect added, but the Lock was nowhere to be found. Tried to remove the Nest Connect device to start over. The app WOULD NOT the Nest Connect device! Then suddenly, then Nest app completely failed (see screen shot). What a lousy experience. I am going to try again tomorrow. If it doesn't work, I am returning to Home Depot. BOOOO!!!!

We have at least 7 throughout our home . I would definitely recommend getting this for each bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, etc. They are awesome! When I am about to come home I can broadcast and have the family come out to help bring in groceries, etc. The kids can call if they need to from this device. There are soooo many uses for a Google mini in your home!

I have 6 of these and my 5 year old slammed the door “once” after the auto lock was engaged and the internals must have bent so much the door thinks the lock is blocked, even with the manual turn. Home Depot has an awesome return policy so I will be taking them back but that should not be the case and I now worry about my other six locks.

I just purchased on 1/3/19 and this product has been out for a while so if you’re interested in this you probably think you know what your purchasing. But it’s not what it seems. The Connect that comes with the lock acts as a bridge because the lock doesn’t connect to WiFi(or Zigby or ZWave). I could get the Connect on the Nest app but never could get the lock to connect. I spent hours working on this and doing every trouble shooting method Nest supplied and nothing worked correctly. I had to search the internet and found someone who was able to connect theirs using their hotspot in their cell phone. Once connected the lock would link up no problems, then turn off the hotspot, reload the Connect to the home WiFi from the app and all of a sudden everything works. One day later, a storm rolls through and knocks out the internet for an hour. Everything comes back on but the lock. Now I can’t even factory reset. Only one code works and the lock isn’t even showing up in my Nest app. I’ve had this beautiful device for one day and can tell you it’s not worth the $300! I saw many post on the Nest community app with this complaint and with zero response from Nest for support. I’m uninstalling tomorrow and will replace with a smart lock that’s smart. Save yourself a lot of headache, time, and ALOT of money! All my other Nest products work correctly but this item is supposed to be the latest and greatest. Out of the box you’re flipping a coin to if you’ll have problems are not. I’m so very disappointed because I am in the Nest Ecosystem and planned and saved. Good luck!

This was a little hard ro set up,but otherwise fantastic. Purchased the nest connect,nest tgermostat and video doorbell.

I initially bought this product for my vacation home because it offered off-site remote management of the lock via the internet without having to pay for a subscription service, which was a BIG positive. I didn't have any other Nest products installed before purchasing and installing this lock. Pros: Home Depot delivered this product on time as promised. Installing this lock was very easy and straight forward. I was replacing an existing deadbolt lock. I was able to do it on my own with a screw gun. The instructions included in the box and on the internet were easy to follow. Setting up a Nest account, entering new lock codes and managing access was also easy to figure out. Cons: Every time my internet connection would drop, the lock would go offline and wouldn't reconnect. There is no information online or included with the lock as to what the lights mean on the Nest Connect. I spent over an hour on chat with Nest Tech Support trying to figure out how to reconnect the Lock & Connect to the internet. It was determined that I had to unplug the Connect and reboot it by pressing the button at the bottom and then plug it back in. When the green light is lit on the Connect, it is communicating with the lock. When it is blinking yellow, it doesn't have power. There doesn't seem to be any indicator for when the Connect isn't communicating with the wifi. I deduced that the Connect appears to be missing a piece of software that tells it to try to reconnect with the wifi every so often. This is such a new product for Nest, I'm not sure that their Tech Support knows the answer to that question. The same day I came to that conclusion, I happened to install one Nest Protect Smoke and CO2 detector. After I installed the Nest Protect, the lock and Connect no longer had any trouble re-connecting to the internet after it dropped. My assumption is that the Nest Protect has that little piece of software in it that the Nest Connect is missing. Since all the Nest products communicate with each other, the Protect product seems to be assisting the Connect product. I have since added the Nest Hello Door Bell. In conclusion, as a stand alone product for a 2nd home or vacation home that you do not have regular access to, I wouldn't recommend the lock due to it's inability to reliably reconnect to the internet. However, if you add it to an existing Nest system, or add at least one Nest Protect, then you have a really slick and easy lock management system that we have been very pleased with since we installed it 2 weeks ago.

The lock itself is great. Setup/connecting to wifi was horrible. You will need an open wifi connection (no security) to finish setup, before switching over to a secure connection.

Works great to amplify Nest doorbell chime

I returned this lock because it failed to pair with my Best App and couldn’t get it to Lock correctly. I purchased a Schlage smart lock which is much easier and works great.

This is the second Yale lock i have had. I really enjoy the ease of installing and the ability to access and use the app for unlock and locking the door along with knowing when the door has been accessed.

Google Nest

Nest is IMPOSSIBLE to set up. I open the nest app and get a message that Google is consolidating to the Google Home app. OK, grab that app also. Try to use Google home and get a message I have to use the Nest app. Go back to the nest app and try to set up the lock. I add the lock, then I am told I have to set up Nest connect first. Takes 3 attempts to set up connect. Once connect is set up there is NOTHING to explain how to get the lock to talk to connect.

Fantastic sound and responsiveness. Noticeable improvement over the first generation Google Home Mini.

The lock was easy to intall and the app is very user friendly. Overall, I am happy.
