The item hums when operating.
The instructions we're well laid out, and the fan was fairly easy to put together. The only downside is that the fan hums when you turn it on and while it's operating. From what I understand about motors is that this could be the capacitor. Does the manufacturer cut corners on the electronics of the device?

We are sorry to hear that you are having this issue. The fan should operate quietly at all 3 speeds. Most noise issue can be attributed to loose parts. Please make sure that all parts are completely tightened. I put this fan up by myself using basic tools....
I put this fan up by myself using basic tools. It was fairly easy using the directions that came with the fan. It is beautiful and super quiet. I plan on buying another for the master bedroom.

When the light globe did not screw in tight with...
When the light globe did not screw in tight with the Finial, I called and they sent me a new light kit for the ceiling fan and it was exactly what I needed to make the fan configuration correct. All is good now! Very quick response.

Worked for one year
I bought two of these fans and they worked fine for about a year and then the lights started flickering and burning out. I used the bulbs that came with the fan and I've tried replacing the bulbs, checking the wiring, and the switches but appears to be a faulty product.

We are sorry to hear that you had this issue. Please make sure that the bulbs being used do not exceed 60 actual watts. If that does not resolve the issue, please call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of the team members will be able to get more information to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue. They will also be able to send any replacement parts if necessary. Depending on the age of the fan, the issue may still be covered under warranty.
