Looks good in real life
The texture of the item I received looks better than the picture on the Home Depot website. It looks more like landscape rock. The lens part also looks more like glass in real life, while in the picture it looks pretty plasticy. It feels very light, almost like styrofoam, but it won't ever be picked up, so that doesn't matter. Note that the instructions just say to remove the top from the bottom, but note that the picture I've included shows the way you need to rotate the top and then pull up so that the tab comes out. At first I just tried pulling them straight apart from each other. I would recommend these lamps although the price is on the high side.

Nice looking, but quality seems inconsistent
The instructions for these lights are clearly illustrated and thorough. Packing the stake inside the light saves on shipping size. The plastic film on the solar panel was not obvious. This is probably why the manufacturer added a sticker alerting me to the fact that the plastic film needs to be removed. It is clear in the instructions that ambient light will affect the operation of the light. I had a particular location in mind for these lights. I had not thought about the ambient light from a street light. I removed the solar section and set it in the sun on a chair as instructed. In the evening I was walking up my driveway and wondered what that light was on my chair. Oh, yeah, that is the path light and that is the way they work. My neighbors say my front walk and steps are dark. I was hoping these path lights would help. My steps do not get much sunlight so the lights cannot charge fully close to the steps. Where the path gets full sunlight ambient light was a problem for the lights at night when I first installed them. One of the lights shines bright, but the other light seems to be battery challenged. I tried leaving the path lights out in the sun during the day and moving them closer to my steps at night. I am dissappointed that the batteries do not last all night, even with full sunlight all day.

Finally, an Attractive and unique Landscape Light!
I do like solar landscape lighting but I'm pretty tired of that typical look they all seem to have so I was excited to come across this Hampton Bay Charcoal Stone Landscape Rock Pillar Path Light. It looks like a pillar carved out of stone and the lens has attractive stacked look. These really provide more of an upscale look to outdoor lighting. Comes in a pack of two lights of 5 lumens each. Dusk to dawn. Place them where you like and enjoy the great look and ambiance. Another reviewer mentioned they had trouble getting the stakes out but the light actually pulls apart for easy access to the stakes which are safely tucked inside. No issue here.

Great looking solar lights that are quite unique
These path lights come as a 2 pack which is what I wanted to mark the entrance to my backyard. They have a nice stone look to them in a charcoal finish. These are solar powered with the dusk to dawn sensors and they put off 5 lumens of warm white light that lasts up to 8 hours. With these being solar, you can place them in any location that will get sunlight to recharge them without the need to run wiring to them. They are made of weather resistant polymeric materials that should last for years and they are maintenance free with no bulbs to replace. They are a nice addition to my landscaping.

Landscape Lights That Don't Look Like Typical Landscape Lights
What I really like about these Hampton Bay Solar Stone LED landscape lights is the texturized surface that actually looks like chiseled stone. The theme of our entryway is woodland with natural large stones from our property and a landscape berm. Out in rural areas the night is very dark and security/landscape lighting is essential. to make sure no one missteps on the stones we installed a pillar lantern at the top of the port steps but that first step off the large stone needed additional light. These landscape LED lights fit the bill perfectly. The color and stone texture of the lights fit into our theme but most importantly the LEDs cast a soft white light on that stone and first step. they give off a good amount of light without that cheap blue stark LED color and without the faux yellow some LED lights cast to mimic incandescents. These are just perfect. The light from late dusk to dawn every night. They even charge on cloudy days. Our little mountain homestead and ranch home is modest but we still appreciate attention to details without screaming attention to our home. These landscape lights help to elevate the pride we take in our home for guests and visitors. It's difficult to capture lighting at night but I believe these pics demonstrate the light cast by these landscape lights. And during daylight these landscape light blend into the surrounding area. The 360* lens disperse light in all directions. We couldn't be more pleased with these Hampton Bay Solar Stone LED landscape lights.

Quick and Easy Transformation
These are perfect for the walkway from our driveway to the front door. The lighting is warm at 3000K which is bright enough but not overly bright. On sunny days they stay lit for 8 hours or more, and on overcast days, like yesterday, I noticed they were out by 2 AM.. Everything is included and they were easy to install. The charcoal stone color goes with just about any color scheme, in my case it’s concrete, a flower bed with black mulch, a rock garden and rock wall. I could not be more pleased.

Looks like stone.
I needed to replace some solar lights along our driveway. We have a lot of rock terracing so thought these would be a good addition since they look like stone. They are a little bigger than I expected. They are easy enough to set up. You need to charge them up for a day in full sun. There is a switch that you can actually turn them on and off. It is an LED but I don't think they are real bright. They put out more of a soft warm glow.

Excellent design and light throw
Hampton Bay’s Rock Pillar lights are fashioned in an excellent design, which separates them from the standard mushroom or shepherd path lights in a very positive way. And, the light throw from the square acrylic deflectors is also a design winner. It projects good ripple effect for the light surrounding the pillar. Initial instructions would indicate a full day of sun to charge the battery, and experience thus far would confirm the charging timeframe. It appears to take a full summer day to have sufficient battery reserve to last through the night. Positioning the lights is full sun is a requirement, as any shadowing or buildings blocking the sun will not enable a full battery charge for night operation. With some shadowing from the house and foliage, the battery life appears to be between 5-6 hours. Overall, the pillar and light throw design are excellent, but the battery charging appears to be a limiting factor. Still recommend the product, but yard/sun exposure is critical.

These Solar Lights Look Like Real Stone!
Hampton Bay Solar Charcoal Stone Outdoor Integrated White LED Landscape Rock Pillar Path Light. I really like these LED path Lights by Hampton Bay. They look just like chiseled stone they are so realistic looking! If you are searching for something unique these lights are really cool. They are a bright 3000K warm white light and as you can see in the photos they give off a lot of light. Should last for 8 hours a day and they come on and off with the dusk to dawn light sensor. You open the top by removing the clear lighted portion to get to the "on-off" switch, batteries, and the plastic stake. Pull the plastic stake out through the top and insert it to the outside bottom of the fixture and stick it in the ground. This is made from a mating of Aluminum and weather-resistant polymeric materials that sure look like stone. Included are all necessary hardware and battery(s).

Yikes!
I was so looking forward to getting these two solar lights. So there's The Good the Bad and the Ugly concerning these two lights. I'll start with the good let's start with a positive. Their substantial in weight and I love the fact that they look like it's out of real Stone. They come pre-charged and I say this because I was only able to put them in the sunlight for an hour yet they stayed LIT All Night Long. Now for the negative which I hope the vendor looks at this because I think it's an easy fix. The actual stake that you would put into the bottom of the solar light and then put that stake into the ground that is where the issue is. What they have done is they put the stake in the solar light upside down and perhaps they were supposed to be at a point that you could actually grab them and pull them out but both of my stakes were actually inside of the light itself. It's like trying to pull something round out of a square hole. I tried for over half an hour I gave it to two other people to try and there's no way to get the stake out. I think the vendor could easily just if they didn't want to spend the money for packaging put those two stakes in a plastic bag and just put it in the box with the solar lights. Because of this I can't actually stake either one of these lights into the ground and I think that's a huge negative because if it weren't for this one thing I would have given a better review. So I was able to find some place out of the wind that they would be able to stand on cement on their own but it's not nearly as stable as it would have been had I just been able to have the stakes to go into the ground. To tell you the truth I probably would not recommend this product to someone because of the fact of the stake issue on its own.

lit the way
I needed some light out by my temporary fencing and gate and this is just what I needed The dark color looks like stone. Set up was easy to twist off the black top and pull off the clear area where the light shines onto a disc to reflect the light up. Then use your finger on the bottom to push the stake out of the fixture place it into the bottom of the fixture and put it back together making sure you turn the switch to auto and place it where you need it. The area I placed then was heavily mulched so it was easy to press into the soil if you have hard soil soak the area first and just put stake in then place the fixture onto the stake. I placed this out at noon and checked the lights at midnight they were bright enough to see. The nice thing is you can replace the rechargeable batteries by unscrewing 4 screws on the bottom of the top fixture. Use one AA size, 600mAh, 1.2V Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable battery. For best performance, replace with a Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable battery annually.

Great landscape upgrade
Got these yesterday and installed next to a short path from patio to yard. They are really nice looking and provide some nice accent lighting next to the path. The stone-like finish would blend in well with our front yard landscape since that area is black rocks and a few plants. We may be buying more for that area. Installation is very easy, but the instructions could use improvement. A Phillips screwdriver is shown as a needed tool, but that is only if you need to replace the battery in the future. Add the words "for battery replacement" next to the screwdriver picture. The ground stake is packaged inside the tower, and you need to lift the lens and top cap off to get the stake out. It is a tight fit and I worried about damage - especially since I assumed a screwdriver was required. A few more words in the installation instructions would be helpful. Now I just need to see how well this hold up to our winds. Might need a drop of superglue at the stake connection to the lamp body.

Nice garden accent
The solar towers arrived, packed 2 to a box that measures 12.5” tall, 5.5” deep and 9.5” wide. The towers themselves are 10” top to bottom (without the stake) and 3.5” square. The top third is 1.5” tall, the middle (clear, lit portion) is 1.5” tall and the base is 7” tall. The solar tower really does look similar to rock/granite. They did a good job with that. I like that the stake to secure the unit into the ground is actually inside the bottom part of the tower. The tower is 3 pieces that easily come apart. You have to remove the top 2 pieces either individually or together (the rock top that has the solar panel in it and the clear Lucite portion attached to it). To remove the very top segment, you gently twist it off – less than ¼ of a turn. The directions confusedly state that the “AUTO/OFF” switch is located on the back of the solar box. I looked all over until it occurred to me to take the top off the unit and check there. Once you have the top off, you will find the switch on the underside of that. Slide the switch to “AUTO.” To access the stake, separate the remaining 2 pieces. You do this by firmly grasping the clear portion and gently rocking it while pulling and it will separate from the body. The stake is located inside and you can easily pull it out and then turn the bottom part over and insert the stake. You can then reassemble it all and put it outside in an area that receives sunlight the majority of the day to charge up the solar panel. If you can’t easily push the stake into the ground, DO NOT USE A HAMMER. You will damage the tower. Soak the ground or find a soften place to insert the stake. These produce a nice amount of light at night. It’s bright, but not obnoxiously so and in opinion, is a nice accent in the garden. The directions tell you that you need a screwdriver for these. You don’t. You only need a screwdriver if you have to replace the battery. One question I didn’t find addressed was that there is a thin, clear piece of vinyl (?) on the top of each solar panel. I think it’s supposed to be removed, but I’m not sure. I wasn’t able to easily remove it, so I left it there. I couldn’t find anything to tell me where this was made. My only complaint is that the directions are not well written.

Square shape and low height makes them stay straight
Comparing to landscape lights that have round pole of much smaller diameter than mantle diameter these lights are going to stay straight. Their center of gravity is lower due and square pole bottom is pressed against the ground. They come with plastic stakes that ensure light stability during high winds. There's also screw hole inside on the bottom of light pole as square shape also allows anchoring to wood or stone surfaces. It's very easy to assemble/disassemble and install (less than 15 minutes without reading manual). Stake is packed inside light body. These lights are hollow inside and this space could be used for hidden / secret storage. There's also on/off switch mounted on the back of solar/led panel. I disassembled one of them and saw charging / switching circuit board inside and 16h x 60ma AA battery. Battery is replaceable. Light pole and stake are made from good quality plastic. Pole walls are quite thick.

This is a beautiful set of lights. Easy to install and very bright. The only downside is that the material is a little too delicate so it might damage during installation (it happened to me). Also, you will need to remove them before trimming the edges as I do not think they will withstand a lawn trimmer (I have tried it or plan to do it). Fortunately, the spikes are removable so you can leave them there and place them back in the same position. All in all, this a beautiful product aesthetically, but a little weak for it's purpose. In the meantime, I will enjoy them as they look awesome in my entrance.

We get lots of compliments!
We have the sandstone color ones and they are lovely. We have had these lights for a few years now and they are still going strong. They add a lot to our front yard and people often ask us where we got them. We like them so much that we are currently purchasing more to put them in the backyard.
