The fan is designed for use in great rooms 20ft x 20ft or larger. Installing in a smaller area may negatively impact the fan's airflow performance.

Technically, the fan could be wired to separate switches for fan speed and light control but we do not recommend doing so because the remote is the only way to control the color temperature of the light kit and it would require altering the wiring by cutting off the wire harness plug. Altering the wiring may void the fan's warranty. The fan can be converted into a smart fan by adding the Bond Smart hub (model # BD-1000). This would allow you to control the fan via Google Assistant or Alexa as well as with the Bond app on your smart device. If you need a replacement remote, one can be ordered by calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460.

Thank you for your review. The light is dimmable via the remote. To dim the lights, press and hold the light button on the remote. While holding the light button, the light will cycle from bright to dim to bright again. Release the button once the desired brightness level is reached.

We are sorry to hear that you had this issue. The attaching the downrod, the downrod should thread into the motor collar until it is completely tight. There may be a couple of visible threads on the downrod once it is completely tightened as seen in the complete installation video located with the alternate images on the product page online (fast forward to the 5:53 mark).
