I bought this piece unfinished. I put a dark Jacobian Stain on it first, which is a very dark stain. Then I mixed and created a weathered wash deluted paint finish with a combination of left over paint samples I had. I used a bottle of water and a dry brush to put the paint on and wash off until I got the color I wanted. Then I added a little of the dark stain in spots that were too light. I think it turned out a nice driftwood finish. I put a light spray of satin polyurethane on the assembled table and finished with a wax.

The quality of this table is top notch! I painted mine white on the base and stained and whitewashed the top. I absolutely love it! Great quality at a great price!

Beautiful hardwood. Came smooth and clean. I needed very little sanding. The natural wood looked nice in our livingroom, so I just put about 5-6 coats of Minwax water based Satin Polycrylic protective finish. Came out beautifully finished. Can't wait to pick out a lovely floral arrangement to brighten up the room!

I absolutely love this table. The workmanship is excellent. I purchased the unfinished coffee table. Real hardwood, not plywood or particle board. It went together very easily. The holes matched up perfectly. I read the previous reviews and followed their suggestion on staining the underside and also using a wood sealer before staining the top. The sides I painted. The same table is carried by other companies for more money.

I love everything about this table! It really completes my living room. It arrived in perfect condition. It is a solid, heavy table....not particle board junk. Sits level on the floor & is large enough the kids love to sit around it and play board games. We painted the bottom white & stained the top with Minwax Provincial stain & used a satin polyurethane top coat. We did not use wood conditioner before staining, just gently sanded the top, which we probably didn’t really need to do as it was already so smooth. Came out just as I’d envisioned. I honestly love it so much I’m contemplating purchasing the dining room table also. Yes, it’s work to paint but now it is exactly what I wanted for 1/2 the price of junk tables elsewhere. 100% recommend!

I made the wood look distressed with beating it up a bit and with stain. I was pleased with the outcome.

Easy to assemble. Did not need to sand the table, only used a soft clothe to dust down. Heavy wood. Nice grain. For painting, I used a "dry-brush" technique. For paint, I used the following: * 1 coat of Charcoal Chalk Board paint on the sides/legs * 1 coat of Behr Marquee Flat/Matte (just needed the sample jar...worked great!) Color: Antique Earth * When paint dried (1 day later) I used 2 coats of Howard Citrus-Shield Paste Wax ** I did not want a glossy look on the wood, I wanted the grain of the wood to show through... & it did! I then added baskets for storage (which is why I chose this table... to have storage but still look fashionable. Very pleased with the results! Would highly recommend this table. I think I am going to get the side table & do the same treatment.

Great quality wood and easy to stain. We used Minwax wood conditioner, Early American stain, and fast-drying polyurethane. Looks like a million bucks!

Originally this is a coffee table. However I used it as a TV table. I arranged any furniture as country style wooden ones, color and texture, in living and dining room. So I was looking for real bare wooden TV table. This can match well.

Table is lovely. Solid. Color as mentioned in other reviews is more of a taupe/greige, not solid gray. Only complaint is that there was a pretty significant crack on one of the support pieces. My husband was able to hide it so that it is not noticeable.

I purchased this table in January in the raw wood. I applied a driftwood finish to it and it turned out amazing. This a really solid well built table. I finished each piece individually and then assembled it. It did not require any light sanding before applying the first layers of stain. The assembly was easy and it looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture. I believe it is made of some type of wood like poplar or some other light wood with very little variation. I applied a dark stain followed by a layer of wash that I made and then a diluted final layer of stain and satin spray on clear coat.

Beautiful, unfinished table. It weighs @ 75lbs and it was difficult to bring in the house. However, it assembled easily.
