I bought a couple of the light duty 12" just to test Jorgensen's product line. Pleased, I decided to buy 2 of the heavy duty 24" clamps. I was so impressed, and they functioned so well, that I went out and bought 4 more!
These things get the job done - and how. I plan on buying more of these --- once the budget allows for such a move. I am a hobbyist woodworker and do various home projects and they serve me well.
Go grab a few of these bad boys. And then go grab some more.
This line of clamps function well; they can give you a lot more compression that trigger style clamps. They are obviously designed with the woodworker in mind. The business ends are covered in plastic caps that prevent them from marring stock.
These are by far the best "bar" clamps out there. There are more expensive models, but they don't work any better. They are well made and they hold! I bought two to try them out, then went back and bought 4 more. It's a plus that they are American made.
I have several of the Jorgensen HD clamps, and some of the other competitors HD clamps.(Craftsman) By far the Jorgensen clamps are more solid, with no bar deflection when tightened. The competitors do deflect a little when tightened. Does that effect the clamping? No, but it tells me that Jorgensen is made a little more ruggedly. And, I believe Jorgensen is made in the U.S.A. I do try to buy U.S.A. products when I can.
Another thing I like, is the Jorgensen clamps open to the full dimension with the pads on, while some of my other clamps open to the full dimension, only IF I take off the plastic pads that protect the wood from the clamp.
Jorgensen HD clamps are of excellent quality, IMHO.
Used these clamps to re-glue chairs that were about to fall apart. The clamps worked great ... easy to get both front and rear teeth in place and easy to slide the clamps into an initial position. The screw down clamp was easy to place tremendous pressure in the exact spots to ensure the chair bottoms were seated well against the leg frames. These clamps are awesome!

The best part of this clam may be the handle, the next best thing is the release. Old hands will appreciate the comfort grip. A couple of turns and the quick release backs off the clamp from the work piece. The pads also work well and stay in place. I have looked elsewhere and found that HD had the best price. I have different clamps in the workshop but I always go to these first. 5 star clamps all around.
I have two of these among my collection of other clamps. I've had them about 3 years and have used them on numerous projects both big and small: from holding pieces together on a project to holding wood in place on the workbench. They are extremely strong and well made. I have tightened them as hard as possible by hand and they have not bent. The metal bar makes it quick and easy to make big adjustments. They are not as fast to clamp as the trigger type clamps, but these are much stronger. The rubber caps where it contacts the wood are nice touches to prevent the clamp from marking the wood. The only minor improvement I would make would be to contour/put edges on the handle to give a better grip when tightening/un-tightening. Also, for certain jobs it would be nice if they had a little more depth to them, but all similar clamps have such limits.
