Bemis was clearly better
I bought two elongated Koehler toilet seats, one broke immediately so I had to go replace it so I had the experience of then buying a different Brand. The Bemus was easier to install, the directions were more obvious. It seemed higher quality.
I gave it 4 stars because I think the fact it broke was a fluke. But I think the Bemis elongated toilet seat is clearly superior

Didn't know spending over $30 for a toilet seat meant it was super cheaply made. The bolts that clamp the seat to the toilet are plastic-and they don't hold tightly at all. Seat slides sideways off bowl when you use it. I ordered online so didn't think I could return after being used. Next time I will actually go in and look at the samples. I thought Kohler used to be a trusted name

Screws and nuts
The screws that install the seat to the toilet are too short. I can't even thread the nut to it, it's that short. Luckily I didn't throw the old ones yet and used those until I find ones that are long enough to fit. What a hassle.

The toilet seat squeaks when sitting on ot and getting off of it. The wood is not as thick and strong as the last one I ordered 8 years ago. It's basically just fair.

The toilet seat was very sturdy but the hardware was faulty. The screws would only screw in partially and wouldn’t tighten down the toilet seat. I had to use the old hardware to install the toilet seat.
