While I'm sure you could maybe press it into service otherwise if you really wanted to, the Klein Tools 18" Lineman Backpack is designed and intended for use by linemen, carrying their safety and climbing gear. Designed more as a grab-and-go bag, it features the one cavernous zippered main compartment, with 3 additional exterior pockets. There are no smaller interior pockets for individual tools, as it is designed more to be stuffed full of bulkier items. Made of a heavy-duty vinyl, with ample stitching. Designed to resist water intrusion in it's main compartment, and with drainage holes to help evacuate any water that does get in. Hard plastic base allows it to both stand upright even when well loaded, and to be set down without concern. Padded straps and back panel allow it to be comfortably worn for reasonable distances. Quality Klein product, made in the USA.

18" LINEMAN BACKPACK, Orange. This thing is a beast! if you are looking at it thinking it is a standard backpack with a Klein label WRONG... it does not have a ton of pockets & pouches. not really designed to be an organized tool carrier. Rather it is intended to be a carry all! drop all in one bag. tool belt with pouches, power tools, hard hat, safety gear ETC... it is made very rugged, it does have a few pouches to sort small things. if you are thinking about getting this, don't hesitate.

This is a quality made backpack with lots of storage. You can tell by the stitching alone this backpack is made to last. The zipper too is a quality product. Those are the first two items that tend to fail in any backpack: stitching and zipper. I like the waterproof material. So much so, I have decided to use this with my hiking and hunting gear. Many is the time I have been caught in a torrential downpour. Most of my gear is waterproof to a point. This backpack keeps everything inside dry. The main compartment holds a lot of gear and can handle a good amount of weight. Side pockets keep commonly used items at the ready. Great job!

The Klein Tools 18 inch Linemans Backpack is ideal for an exterior electrician, or anyone that needs to transport bulky gear through the woods. My neighbor and I do tree service work as a hobby, and have tons of climbing equipment. We decided to obtain this backpack to carry all of the climbing gear. Amazingly, all of the climbing gear, including the chain saw, easily fit into the backpack. The Lineman Backpack includes one large compartment with a rigid plastic bottom that has holes for fluid drainage. It also has a large pocket on the rear and two on the sides. The heavy weight vinyl material resists pointed objects, and has a padded back area for protection. It also has a padded shoulder harness with an adjustable chest strap. The only thing lacking on the Klein Tools Lineman Backpack is a padded Lombard Waist Belt to transfer weight to your lower back. It’s not a big deal if you are carrying less than 20 lbs. for short distances, however, carrying heavier loads long distances would not be comfortable with this backpack. Overall, it is a useful backpack and good for carrying gear.

I got this 18-inch Lineman Backpack, Orange not for the purpose of climbing ladders and storing tools. Although it is perfect for that purpose but I got it to use for hunting, fishing and camping. It is the perfect orange that is visible 100’s of yards away. It easily holds all my supplies, extra cloths, rain gear, food, beverage and misc. The backpack is sturdy made of quality material and is comfortable while wearing as it has a padded back area. Easy on and off and it secures with one adjustable belt. I simple love this Backpack. I am 100% satisfied. Sorry for not using it as a lineman but it is great for my purpose too. Two thumbs up!

The back back is a great size has a lot of storage inside and is durable yet lightweight.

I needed a bag to carry my tools around. I liked that this had backpack straps and was from a brand name. Unfortunately once it arrived I was deeply disappointed. The quality didnt feel top notch and the bag was much bigger than I pictured. The pockets were nice sized but had some gaps where tools or items can slip out. Overall I wished this could have been better.

I have been a builder remodeler for 48 years. As such I have run into a lot of items one could use to transport tools. To be honest I am definitely not a fan of bags to store tools. My reasoning is that they’re fine for homeowners, but contractors don’t want to just throw their tools in a pile. They need to be able to store and transport them in an orderly way. So I will always go for hard cases. However, that being said, when I got this lineman back pack, I thought, what a perfect thing to use for a go bag. These are a real need these days with one disaster after another coming at us. This will be the perfect go bag!

Large, spacious backpack style tool bag, heavy duty, durable, high quality materials and workmanship. This backpack style tool bag is the most convenient tool bag I have ever owned. It is very well made with high quality materials. It is very solid and durable and has stood up to the heavy tools I carry in it as well as surviving the wear and tear and heavy use at the job site. It has a lot of different pockets for storage and a large main storage area for my larger tools like drills, hammers, grinders, floats, etc. It also has smaller pockets for materials such as screws, nails, staples, etc. My only downside point would be that it is pretty heavy empty, and even more so when it is loaded with tools, however the weight is due to the thick heavy materials it is constructed of in order to stand up to the everyday heavy commands of construction tools and job sites. It does have a nicely padded back to make carrying your heavy load much more comfortable, and the backpack style of this tool bag makes it easier to carry your tools from place to place versus a typical style tool bag or box. I plan on buying one of these for my son and one for my husband for work as well, so I do recommend this for anyone, whether you work in construction or not. I use this for my crafting tools as well as my job site tools, so it's usability is very versatile.

The 18 in. Lineman Backpack, in orange is perfect for those on the go who may need to transport tools. It is heavy duty and the backpack style leaves hands free to carry other things, or climb ladders. The bright orange color means excellent visibility. The pack itself is roomy and well made so I am never worried about accidental tears from heavy tools. I am very happy with it.

This backpack helped out a lot for roofing jobs. I know that’s not what it’s intended for but it’s perfect for my roofing nailers, hoses and other stuff that will fit in it. Seriously makes it easier and safer because both my hands can hold the ladder going up and down. It held up well with my tools in it and the material it’s made of looks like it should last. The size of it is good because I was able to fit a lot of equipment each time i used it. I was looking for something like this for a while for my roof jobs and this Klein backpack is great for this and other jobs. A uncle of mine who does roofing wants one or two for himself now.
