      Klein kurve
I like that it is very comfortable and strong at the same time. I like that it has stripping from # 10 to # 20, ideal for thinner cables, as well as a strong jaw. I would have liked the terminal press, but I know there is already a new version of the klein Kurve

        Excellent wire stripping ability
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these wire strippers as a gift for a prize sweepstakes I entered through Klein. They work fantastic for stripping number 8XHHW wire which has a thicker insulation on it and the number 8 stripper hole is fantastic. one squeeze and the insulation is ready to come off. The handles are spaced great for holding and while using them.

          Multi task tool
Had the pliers one day but so far I have used the wire strippers and plier function replacing a kitchen light. These pliers s replace lineman pliers, wire strippers and crimpers in a more compact size which saves weight in my tool bag while working in building maintenance.

            best strippers ever
Hey hey hey! It is that time again. Klein has sent me a new tool to test. Upon testing this item and leaving a honest review I may receive further incentives under the Klein Crusaders program. This time we have heavy duty strippers. This is the features of the product. * Strips 8 to18 AWG Solid and 10 to 20 AWG Stranded wire * Large knurled plier tip pulls and twists wire * Shear cutting knives for easier cutting of copper wire and larger material such as Romex® cable (all sizes) and other nonmetallic (type NM) sheathed cable * Screw shearing for 6-32 and 8-32 screws * Wire looping hole * Klein-Kurve™ comfort grip handles for reduced hand fatigue * Hot riveted joint prevents wobble and separation of the blades over time * Textured grips for enhanced dexterity and integrated hang holes I personally can’t wait to test this bad boys out. The last thing I need, when working with electrical, is a wire stripper that needs special attention, ie: needs an adjustment before stripping a certain size wire, cuts too deep past the insulator & into the core, or has many moving parts that over time will rust, break or come apart, rendering the stripper useless. This Klein Tools heavy duty wire stripper solves all those issues. It has one pivot point in the pliers type setup. The handles are spring loaded so the stripper opens immediately after each operation. A genius must have come up with this tool as it incorporates so many operations in such a simple tool. The most common wire sizes are imprinted right next to the notches that strip the insulation. Using this tool, I stripped wires from 20 awg plastic & fabric covered speaker & bell wires to 10 awg power wires. In all instances, the stripping tool made a fast clean cut. The pliers cross hatched jaws solidly held the wire, without any slippage, while I was twisting it. The shear cutting knife blades cut cleanly through 10 awg wire. This tool even has a wire looping hole that worked perfectly, even with 10 awg wire. Another bonus feature are the two threaded holes that are used to shear off excess length from a 6-32, or 8-32 screw. I screwed in an 8-32 screw into one threaded hole, & then cut off the excess length of the screw. After I cut the screw, the cut ends were not marred & were ready to be screwed into a fixture. The ergonomic handles & non-slip molded grip, were comfortable to hold. This highest quality, professional wire stripper is the only one I'll ever use.

This pliers has a lot of features, like any good tool should have. Primarily an electrician’s wire stripper, also can cut wire and romex, has a wire-looping hole feature for making bends to fit around screws, and a broad knurled pliers on the gripping end. The handles have a nice plastic ergonomic design and feel good in the hand. One feature that I really like is the threaded machine-screw cutter for the two common sizes used in electrical finish work: 6-32 and 8-32. There is a spring opening feature which separates the jaws, which I’m not sure that I like yet since there is no way to lock it closed, and it seems to make it more difficult to slip back into the tool belt. I was a bit disappointed in a couple finish items, which I almost deducted a star for from in my rating. The jaws end seems to be a bit mis-shaped, as though it wasn’t cast or ground properly, and the large cutters had a rough knurl on them. This was easy enough to remove with a few light strokes of a file, but it shouldn’t have been there at all on a USA made Klein tool. Neither of these is really a problem with usability, it’s just that I have come to expect perfection with Klein tools. Overall, I found that this is a nice heavy-duty tool, doesn’t become mis-aligned when twisting or pulling at an angle, and because of the nice large jaws, I think that I will use these often in place of my lineman’s pliers. Its always nice when I can use one tool instead of two or three.

Klein 8-18 Solid/10-20 Stranded Heavy-Duty Wire Stripper with Shear-Cut Heavy duty wire strippers. Hot forged makes them 3 time harder than normal tools. Located next to the center are the two most common sizes screw shearing or thread cleanup (6/32” and 8/32”) and the wide knurled jaws allow for the twisting up to three wires at a time. There is Klein hot rivet joint to prevent tool wobbling and gives years of tight use. Then the induction blade wire cutter that stays sharper longer and cuts solid or twisted wire with ease. Finally, there is the Klein Kurve ergonomic handles with the journeyman grip for a comfortable all-day long use grip. All these items add to the many reasons you will want Klein tool in your bags year after year. Klein tools have been proudly made in the USA since 1867.

Quality, heavy-duty and more than just wire strippers! The Klein Tools 8-18 Solid/10-20 Stranded Heavy-Duty Wire Stripper with Shear-Cut (Model # K12035SEN) is not only sturdy and well made, it’s also way more than just a wire stripper. The jaws are as tough as any pliers. The cutters easily handled 12-2 Romex, helped by good leverage from the comfortable handles. The wire bending hole was easier to use than needle nose pliers and made a perfect u-shaped loop for terminal screws (see pic). And the tool has a feature I didn’t even know existed: threaded holes (see pics) for shearing 6-32 and 8-32 screws, the sizes typically used for outlet covers and junction boxes. Plenty of times I’ve had screws too long and resorted to hacksaws or nippers which tend to damage the threads. But now just thread the screw in the matching hole to the desired depth and squeeze the handles. It cleanly shears off the end of the screw. And the shortened screw threaded into a junction box with no need for filling! And, of course, it does a great job of stripping wire. I tried it on solid and stranded and it made quick work of all of them, though some stranded wire required a couple extra twists, probably because the strands compress a bit. My only minor complaint is the lack of a “catch” to hold the handles/jaws closed when not in use. But this was easily solve with a zip tie (see pics). Highly recommended!

This heavy duty wire stripper is a good choice for the professional and DIY market. It is a solidly built product which is made in the USA. The shear cutting knife cut through three parallel 14 gauge wires without difficulty. I stripped a 14 gauge solid wire then removed more insulation to determine if the copper conductor was nicked. Unfortunately there was a slight nick in the copper which would catch on my fingernail. I used the 6-32 screw shearing mechanism to cut through a screw. It did leave a slight burr but a nut threaded onto it without issue. I was also able to cut through an 8-32 screw without difficulty. The large knurled plier tip is great for twisting wires together, etc. Now I can carry one less tool when working on electrical. I ran into two issues with the tool. 1) There was some debris obscuring the 6-32 hole. I had to run a screw through it to eject the debris. After that it functioned fine. 2) The tool has a spring loaded return to open mechanism. Unfortunately, something is catching or rubbing near the full open location which the spring cannot overcome resulting in the handles stopping 1/4 to 3/8 from fully open. I can pull them apart but I should not have to do so. Overall this is a great tool to carry but given the three minor issues (which might be specific to my tool) of nicking the copper on stripping, debris in the 6-32 hole and the handles not fully opening, I am knocking off one star.

These are basically the same as the K12065CR but with a spring in place where the crimper is. In hindsight I'd rather have the crimper than the spring as it's annoying because there is no lock to hold them closed.

I bought this strip 10 AWG stranded solar wire, hoping to not cut into any of the strands. However, it will cut 2-3 strands if you are not very careful.
