This tool did everything it was supposed to do. Resolved my hunt for wires quickly and efficiently.

Worked as expected. Great tool for tracing and finding RJ45 cabling. Have not used on phone cables, but assume good functionality.

Works much better than my old one

I had a home power run from the breaker panel to a bedroom open. It was the primary feed as there was a hot breaker, but no energy to any outlet or lights. I powered the breaker "off", attached the Kline signal tracer signal generator. Set the signal to 1KHz, or, 1000Hz. That frequency worked best in this instance. Traced the line, found the break and fixed it. Quick and easy. EXCELLENT tool

When I was promoted at work to a networking position I decided to a good reward would be a great reward to myself as I the one I have been using finally gave out after 10 years. This product feels robust and sturdy. I was very disappointed though when I realized it took x4 AAA batteries and everything else I have uses 9V. But it was on the label and I missed it so I wasn't going to knock it. The problems started occurring as I started using it. It was kept in a backpack in it's own pocket with my other test gear. I noticed that almost every other time I would use it, it would be dead. The nice cushy buttons are just proud enough that unless I am careful about what is in front of it in my bag, it will get turned on as I am walking around. I also noticed that the probe tip would constantly come loose. I've used multiple other brands with screw on tips and this has never been an issue on any other unit. after having it for about a year on one of it's regular battery changes I found the battery compartment extremely corroded. I was worried about my other tools and opened them all up for cleaning, thinking maybe a hot humid day they got left in the car or something and I would have to clean everything. The probe was the only thing that had any corrosion on it. All that being said. I am not kind to my tools, they are there to be used and stored when not in use. As long as the batteries were good it has never let me down and it feels good to use, the led light great, all of the features work, but there are too many annoyances for the cost of this to not just buy something else that you know when you get it out it's gonna be ready to work every time.

tracer unit works great and has options a regular tracer does not. As for the tone probe, it does not have a filter option and it is not very loud but it does the trick.

It doesn’t have enough range to find outdoor wiring.

The Klein Data Cable Tester is very simple to use and is very accurate. The plastic does feel a little cheap and could've been made a little stronger, but that doesn't effect the performance whatsoever. This made testing CAT5e and CAT6e cables a breeze and gave me confidence they were spliced correctly.

Very simple to use and it works.

I needed a cat 5e tester, works very well finding problems with wires. I would buy again.

Excellent taddtlion to my tool box

Excellent diagnostic tool. I already own one, this is a gift to my grandson who is now an Apprentice Electrician.

I bought this one because it was inexpensive, however, it didn't correctly ID one of my bad cables. Ended up finding the bad one through trial and error. It's probably worth paying more for a better one.

Tester was easy to use and helped us know that the network cables were good or not. This was a failure at the connection on the wall, not the attached cables.

Works good for finding ware wires go in mobile home

I had a problem where electricity was not reaching a room in the house. I was able to use this to track the circuit and found a tripped gfi outlet that no one was aware of. Thanks to this tool the room is back in service!
