Let's see what we can figure out! Rust-Oleum Krud Kutter Adhesive Remover removes most glues and adhesives, carpet seam sealer, and mastic. For best results saturate the adhesive by applying a liberal amount directly onto the finish. Allow time for the remover to work. It will loosen most finishes in 15-30 minutes. Test scrape a small area to see if finish is ready for removal. Scrape away the softened adhesive with a wide putty knife or scraper. Multiple coats or stubborn finishes may require repeat applications.

I used Krud Cutter Adhesive Remover on my painted garage floor to remove the residue of carpet glue. I sprayed it on and let it do its work. Then I scraped it with a wide putty knife on the end of a long handle. It worked very well! I mopped the floor afterwards and voila! Clean floor!

We need to know more to get to the bottom of this Randy! Rust-Oleum Krud Kutter Adhesive Remover is a water-based, biodegradable formula that is a safe, effective alternative to hazardous, solvent-based adhesive removers. Saturate the adhesive by applying a liberal amount of Krud Kutter directly on to the finish, allow time for the remover to work. Most finishes will loosen in 15 - 30 minutes, stubborn finishes will take longer and may require a second application. Scrape away softened adhesive with a wide putty knife or scraper. We would like to hear more about your experience using Krud Kutter, give us a call at 800-466-7126 and we can try to make things right.

Worthless for my project
I bought this product because it had decent reviews, but for my job it just made things worse. I removed carpet that was very old, maybe 40--50 years. Adhesive was rockhard but not sticky. The plan was to put epoxy over top of it and, per the recommendation of Rustoleum who makes the epoxy, carpet glue can show through the paint rather dramatically, so I wanted to make sure I remove the glue instead of just painting over top of it. I ordered the product and used it as directed and it seems to remove a little bit off the top but that was all and once it was done it was just a sticky mess and 24 hours later the stickiness has not gotten any better. I tried again with two or three additional applications of the product and still only a tiny bit of it come up. This product may be good for some Jobs, but on my job with 40 year old adhesive it made things worse. If I could do it all over again I would just have coated the dry adhesive with floor paint and epoxy on top and be done. Now I can’t even do that because the adhesive is in a half-dissolved state. Going to go buy a floor steamer and pray that works.

The longer you can leave it on the better. It did not get all the glue up but it did get some of it up. NOt as good as I would of thought but if you have light glue it should work fine.

Thank you for your feedback, Rick! Please keep in mind that since this is a more porous surface, it may require more Rust-Oleum Krud Kutter Adhesive Remover to ensure the best results. The product may also need to be allowed to work on the surface longer to ensure proper penetration.

I live in an 85 yr. old craftsman and had removed 2 layers of old lineoleum, a layer of plywood and a layer of fiber board, all with a final layer of paper backing glued to the original hardwood. Krud Kutter removed the paper and glue so I'm back to hardwood floors. So pleased!

      Will not use again
Wasn't worth the wait time or money. I had a fair amount of adhesive and the gallon did about half the area it was suppose to cover. Although it didn't have a strong odor and doesn't evaporate it left a residue that was sticky and hard to mop up. I finished the task using acetone because it was easier to find at stores to buy.

          Krud Kutter didn't help me
Removed 7 layers of flooring in my kitchen. Found hardwood underneath it all!! Got down to the black mastic and tried many things to get it off including a heat gun and a Dremel. It will take some off using a wire brush but nothing worked as well as good old household vinegar. I probably spent well over $100.00 on different chemicals. Save your money if you are trying to take off the black mastic. Vinegar is cheap.

Really didn't think this would work!
Was looking for something to remove linoleum glue from kitchen floor. My wife saw this on the shelf and said lets try this! At first I said no, looking for something a little more powerful, but gave into her. WOW, I am so glad I listened to her, this stuff took the adhesive off the wood floor with little or no effort. Followed the directions and left it sit for 15-30 minutes and it made the adhesive roll off the scraper. Men, sometimes it might pay to listen to the wife!!!!
