Compressor stops working every few years!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Compressor on this LG stops working every few years! Now we are out of warranty and have to pay from our pockets!! This is a faulty product. We have had to throw out all our food twice because of the compressor breaking every few years.

    Works great
    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has been reliable up until a week ago when we had very hot weather and it stopped cooling. It turned out to be the compressor which was still under warranty so was replaced for free.

      Good refrigerator if it didn't stop working after 3 years.
      At 3 years almost to the day, it stopped cooling. Luckily I paid for the 5 year warranty. Otherwise, the refrigerator is nice. Shelves and baskets in door are nice and configured well. There's one large drawer in the bottom that is kind of a pain because both doors need to be opened to access the drawer. Freezer has good access with sliding shelf. Easy to set up, use and temperature settings are visible on the door. Filter replacement reminders are also visible on the door. Sometimes I like the "door open" chime when I didn't notice the door didn't close, but other times it gets annoying when you don't need the reminder. I'd say it's a nice refrigerator except the most important feature of a refrigerator is that it keeps things cold. When that stops working after only 3 years, that's a big red flag in my book. Quite a few people I've talked to personally, and found researching online, have had similar issues with multiple repairs within 5 years on the same or similar LG refrigerators.

          Great product … when it is working.
          [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this refrigerator model for 3 years but for some unknown reason this particular model broke down 5 times. However, LG stood behind their product did the necessary repairs, then I heard that they discontinued this specific model and replace it with a new one. Good move.

                  Horrible fridge
                  Two compressor failures in five years. Unreliable. And no life is not good. Poor quality for an expensive fridge. Throwing it away, switching to a different brand.

                    2nd Dead Compressor in 6 Years
                    Don't even waste your time. LG refrigerators are now notorious for compressor failure and that doesn't seem to be changing any time soon. My refrigerator needed a new compressor at just under 3 years old and now it is indicating the need for replacement again at 6 years old. What a huge disappointment. You hope that something that costs almost $3k would get more than a few years of use before needing replacement. My house had a 15 year old Kenmore in it when I bought it. I put it in the garage and it is still running. I couldn't get $50 for the thing if I tried to sell it. But I sure forked over a pile of cash for this piece of junk from LG!

                        Love the double ice makers
                        [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although we had a major failure after only owning our refrigerator 3 years LG promptly took care of sending a repairman and having our unit repaired under warranty. There are very few double ice maker refrigerators and that is the feature we like the most about our refrigerator. The bottom freezer drawer is very roomy and the shelves are adjustable giving us many options.

                          Everything I want
                          [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this refrigerator 4 years ago when we updated our kitchen. It looks great and worked great most of that time. You do have to be careful if you have high water pressure. It will cause the ice machine to freeze over. Or condenser went out about a month ago, but service team was excellent. Repaired and working in less than a week.

                              Overall good product with many great features!

It has many great features such as large storage capacity, double ice maker. The French doors are great and love the bottom pull out freezer. Unfortunately the compressor started to fail a month ago. I had the extended warranty and LG response was great! Service rep was scheduled to repair a week late, however the service rep and an opening and called and scheduled my service on the 3rd day. The service rep was very professional and had the new compressor installed within an hour. The refrigerator is working great again! I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the compressor failure.

                                    Total Failure after 5 years

Apparently the linear compressor was the problem. Also LG recognized the problem and came out with a new and improved compressor. Why didn't LG issue a recall and corrected the problem for customer before they would have a problem?

If you buy an LG fridge, be sure to get te extended warranty. It paid for itself in compressor replacement and lost food. I love the features, but I can't recommend this based on reliability. I think any LG fridge using the linear compressor will suffer from the same reliability issues.

                                                      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, at the bottom of my screen it is noted that our LG refrigerator was purchased in December 2014. It was NOT. It was April 17, 2015 and delivered to our house on April 23, 2015. Second, this LG refrigerator has had the upper icemaker repaired one time and replaced two times. The lower icemaker has been replaced two times as well as the compressor, which has been replaced two time. ALL these individual headaches have occurred between 3/23/15 and 3/27/21. This has taught my husband and I how wise it is to buy warranties an extended warranties and never never but NEVER we will be purchasing another LG product. Now, I bet I don’t win that $500.00 do I ??because THIS is not what you wanted to hear !.....however feel free to publicize my facts. We are proceeding to file a complaint under the Texas Lemon Law LemonLawhegulaw.com .
