[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent item, the only issue I found is that the catalog says this can be paired with an outlet using a gang 1+. They do fit, but are not designed to “snap in” in place. I ended up using two of these half-size USB in a regular 1 gang plate.

I bought 2 1/2 size USB outlets to go with my 15 and 20 AMP plugs. had to remove them next day, since both of them emitted extremely annoying noise.

I got these because they are the only product of it's type. A single USB outlet. I've dealt with the whining for a while now. I have 5 of these and it was just expensive for what it is. I'm losing my mind! I have 3 in the living room and they just emit this high pitch sound 24/7.

installed well, but I have not used it for charging of services. The largest risk would be the USB port would break and you need to replace it but since it is independent of the other 1/2 size box it does not require a full replacement. If you like Adorne, might as well install one of these; especially if a USB-C one is released.

I mounted mine sideways and it connected easily and the pigtails were flexible enough to make it easy to fit into the box. It sits well next to a 1/2 size nightlight

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and it works great. Easy to install and adds a nice modern touch.

When will Legrand update it's current USB outlet to support fast charging, QC 3.0? I;m hesitant to install this product as all the newer phones/tablets/etc, now have fast charging capabilities. Thanks.

Received two replacement USB outlets after notifying Legrand about an issue of a high pitched sound coming from three year old USB outlets. In the industry this noise is called coil whine. Legrand's replacement USB outlets are now completely silent and include a new green grounding wire. Installation took about 15 minutes.

I installed two of these USB outlets in different locations of my condo. They look good and were easy to install. The major downside is that after awhile, they both began to emit a high pitched noise when not in use. The noise drives me crazy!

Last week, I purchased the USB half-size. It all was in fantastic work! I would have liked a little more information about combining the USB wih the normal size.

This is the fourth half size USB outlet we will have. They are great add ons to existing Legrand outlets (like I’m doing) or a great way to keep your highly visible outlets from getting cluttered. This USB outlet will be dedicated to Alexa.

Installed on a kitchen remodel, looks great and works the same. Love the "snap in place" to mount the the hidden wall subplate.

Bought four of the units. They were easy to install, look clean, and it's great to not use bulky chargers.

The picture shows two USB outlets and calls them duplex. The duplex name is due to the fact two are required to fill the slot and not because two are supplied. You must purchase two individual USB outlets for each to fill the face plate. I called Home Depot believing I had been shorted one of the two USB outlets pictured. Customer service agreed based on the online ad, that I should have received two units, and stated Home Depot would ship the missing unit. Later the same day I was informed by email the second unit would not be sent and despite the name and the picture one was all I had purchased and would need to purchase a second one, which I did. There needs to be a revision to the online ad indicating that two are required and must be purchased separately.

USB outlets are a great addition to ones home and the Adorrne collection will give you the sleekest look more than anything on the market. Assuming you pair with a duplex outlet make sure 1. You purchase a 3 module wall plate (standard is 2) 2. Keeping your wires neat and organized in the box is important to avoid cramming everything back in, as you will need to wire nut a thicker gauge wire from the USB outlet into the duplex. I have not had any issues thus far with my iPhone 5 freezing while charging. On top of that I have it wired into a duplex which is half controlled by a switch.

I do not know if it's me: Duplex means TWO, not ONE or SIMPLEX. The picture also shows TWO not ONE. When ordering this device, and I checked the part number on the package, you receive ONE USB outlet, and you need to buy a SECOND one to create a DUPLEX USB OUTLET. Somebody has it backwards!? By the way, I saw comments about the stranded wire of this device: The easiest is to take your soldering iron, and use some solder to have a solid end which you can push into a spring loaded wire connector.

Quick Review: Pros: Good design, works great, good spread of face-plate designs. Cons: Costly vs competitors after purchasing all components, can't buy just one, directions don't elaborate multiple configurations, stranded wire requires pigtail. Long Review The vast differences between the Legrand Adorne collection and the generic stuff makes it a design faux pas to mix and match the two in the same house. If you change one switch or outlet, you'll find yourself wanting to change them all. Given the pricey nature of this line, doing so will rack up the costs pretty quick, especially for a large house. Needing a USB charge port in the living room, I purchased this product, a two module outlet and a three module face plate. When I tried to install it, I realized that this particular configuration is not outlined in the instructions, so a little analysis and ingenuity was needed. It will fit together, but both the outlet and the USB unit must be turned sideways for them to lock into the face plate's frame. I arranged the USB on the bottom (so the voltage information is facing up) and the outlet on the top. Everything works fine and it charges my iPhone pretty quickly. And, I'm not sure if the previous reviewer got a different version, but the one I purchased is 10.5W. (W = V * A, 10.5W = 5 VDC * 2.1A) Also worth mentioning, the stranded wire that Legrand uses on the USB will usually require a pigtail to attach it to the solid wire that is in most houses. This is usually a minor inconvenience, but can be problematic for boxes with a lot of wires.

Awesome product. Installed just as it said. High quality. Wish it came in black. Only real comment was that this should be available in store. Started getting these from a competitor because they keep them in stock all the time instead of a special order.

The whole legrande line works for me. They're very easy to install. Keep in mind that this usb outlet is not the best tablets and some phones ,As it is only 5 watts. Most of them need 10w to charge effectively .

Love it. Hate wires and cords, so I got two of these and two super short cables for my i-devices. Now my counter looks neat and clean. Super easy install. Very pricey, but easy on the eyes.
