Until now, this device exceeded my expectations.

The Makita 18V LTX Li-ion Cordless Inflator Kit inflates car and truck tires very quickly. The powerful motorized compressor and 1.5 Amp-hour battery do a fine job of providing air-pressure for most things pneumatic. A sports-ball needle, Presta-valve adapter and air-mattress attachment are included in holders on the front of the compressor. The desired pressure can be preset on the digital, LED display and the inflator will automatically stop when that pressure is reached. There is a button on the side for power on and off with a separate trigger in the handle to start or run the compressor. A bright LED on the front of the unit lights the work area and the digital display is backlit when the power button is pressed. The kit comes with compressor unit, Lithium-ion battery, charging unit, and a Makita 14-in. carry bag to keep it all together. The inflator unit is equipped with soft rubber pads on the bottom so it will not scratch the paint on your car should you set it on the roof or trunk lid and the carry bag has a soft bottom.

This is a super handy device to have around. I used to have to pull out my compressor any time I wanted to fill up the car tires, now I can just walk to wherever my vehicle is, set the PSI and fill it up. It also comes with a few attachments for different filling needs like a needle for sports balls and a plastic cone for tubes and items like that. We were even able to fill up our air mattresses for camping which is one of the big reasons we wanted to get this. It is louder than I anticipated, but not too much of a nuisance. The carrying bag is very nice and comes with lots of inside pockets for accessories. All around a great tool to have on hand!

This is a review of the Makita 18 volt compressor. I received the kit which includes the battery and charger. The battery that came with mine is a 1.5 amp hour battery. This small battery is nice because it keeps the weight and profile of the compressor small, but it does have a couple draw backs. The battery does not have a meter on it, so you never know the state of charge. It is also too small to inflate a really big truck tire or off road vehicle tire. The compressor works great and even has a small light on the front. Other than the price, the only problem I have with it is that you have to keep holding down the button to keep the compressor running, which is not fun if you have to squat to fill a tire for a minute or more. It does come with adapter for filling bicycle tires and sports balls, which is a nice touch. I do like the digital gauge and that you can set the pressure to turn the compressor off at your chosen set point.

I haven't been this disappointed in a test product in a long time. I expected a substantial piece of equipment, as the name has always been synonymous with quality but this falls way short. The body is thin, lightweight, and rattles like a tin toy. It feels like plastic. The battery took all afternoon to charge and lost charge quickly. The actual inflation was no quicker than my $15.00 inflator from the super store. I like the tool bag and I like the cordless aspect so you can inflate floats poolside but at this cost? No, I can not recommend.

This little Makita inflator makes putting air in things so much easier. If you’re like me and have kids with bikes, cars, sports balls, etc that constantly need air than this is the perfect tool for you. It’s easy to use, simply place the connector on whatever you’re inflating, dial in the amount of air pressure that you desire, then pull the trigger, when the air pressure is reached, it automatically stops. Includes everything you need to inflate a couple types of bike tubes, a ball pin and a pin to I blow up small inflatables such as rafts. Also includes a nice bag to store it in. Overall, it works great, inflation times vary by what you are blowing up, obviously, things like car tires will take longer but it should get it done. That brings up the only real downside I could find, which is that there is no way to lock the trigger. You have to hold it down the entire time, definitely not a deal breaker but worth noting.

This Makita 18V LXT Lithium Ion cordless inflator kit is a great tool to have around the house or in the car. It is handy to fill everything from basketballs to car tires. The kit comes with the compressor tool, a 1.5 Ah battery and a universal charger. This Kit also comes with a nice carrying bag which was shipped separately. The kit is compatible with all the Makita 18 volt LXT line of batteries and the charger can be used with Makita Ni-MH and 14.4 Volt Li-Ion batteries. The inflator tool is easy to use, turning on the power switch turns on the led front lamp and when you attach the air chuck to the tire valve stem the digital display reads the tire pressure. You can then set the air pressure to the desired pressure using the + and - on the display and press the trigger to start the inflator. The inflator will stop when the desired pressure is met. This tool will get a good workout as I am always checking the tire pressures on my cars and it's so much easier than pulling out the air hose and using a separate air gauge. So far I am very pleased with the performance and speed of topping off my car tires.

Pretty loud, but versatile and does a great job with tires. I ordered this because we have tires that seem to deflate somewhat frequently on one of our cars, and we have three bicycles and a child with a lot of inflatable toys and pools. So far, this is doing a great job. It comes with attachments for pista inflators (common on road bike tires and tires for european bikes), a pool inflator, and a ball needle, along with a space on the front to store them. It works great with tires, simply turn the unit on, set the PSI (or bar or kPa) you want to inflate to, and pull the trigger. It inflates tires quickly. It's not so quick with then vinyl pool and toys, but that's more the nature of the valves on those things. As I mentioned, it is pretty loud, but it's a compressor, so that's not too surprising. My biggest concern is that, since this isn't something we will use every day, and I don't have other Makita tools that the battery will be drained when I need it most. Not a huge issue, because the charger works pretty quickly, but it does mean that keeping it in the car "just in case" isn't really an option. other than that it's been great. It is comfortable to grip and use, though there's no option to lock the trigger, it does have "feet" on the bottom so you can lean on it to balance as needed.

The basic operation of this inflator is very simple, hook up to the object using 1 of the adapters, set the appropriate pressure ,then pull the trigger. Simple yet Powerful.

I got the Makita 18 volt LXT inflator kit as I did not have any kind of air pump as such and I have used the hand pumps that are for bicycles, and the foot pumps for rafts and I hate them, may be when your young their not bad to have to use, how ever at 52 I have had enough of those things. So this new air pump is awesome, The battery charger looks great and works great as well, it has led indicators to let you know the battery charge condition. it has a illuminated [ blue back light ] lcd display for air pressure , you can change the unit of measurement as well as the air pressure. again a huge update from the old air pumps I have used in the past. on the front it has a led light , which can be nice if you have to use it at night to illuminate your work area. on the front of the pump their is a holder with a sports ball needle adapter, and a presta valve adapter. It seems powerful to me, how ever I do not have any thing really big to inflate. comes with instructions with pictures in multiple languages.

Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless Inflator Kit (1.5Ah) This newest inflator kit from Makita looks like their 12 volt inflator, but now is offered in a more powerful 18 volt version. It’s well designed, light weight and a sturdy build that is typical of all Makita tools. I didn’t know how much I needed this until I got it. I have A.C. powered electric compressors, but now I can top off my riding mower tires out in my shed, that has no electricity, pump up our bike tires out on the bike trails and carry this in the car on trips for emergencies. I can just imagine using this at the beach or pool side too. This unit has onboard storage of an adapter for blowing up pool/beach toys, a needle for sport balls along with a Presta valve adapter. The kit version came with one 1.5Ah battery and the charger. Unfortunately the battery supplied doesn’t have a discharge indicator display on it to let you know battery status, which I think is important info if you own only one battery. The charger base does offer some limited charging info, but you probably won’t usually carry the charging base with you. This has a pretty bright LED light that stays lit when you push the on/off button. There is enough light to see what you are doing if inflating a tire in the dark. To inflate a tire with a Schrader style valve, just push the air chuck on to the tire valve and lock down the lever. Then set the digital read out to the pressure required (3 PSI to 121 PSI) and squeeze the trigger. It took just 45 seconds to inflate my totally flat bike tire from 0 to 60 PSI and then it shut off automatically. While using you must constantly squeeze the trigger or it shuts off. While I understand why Makita prefers using a constant trigger pressure, it would be nice to be able to lock it in the on position if filling say a larger tire or a larger inflatable pool toy. Except for a couple of “wants” that I already mentioned, this is an extremely useful tool to own. Also included in the Kit is a heavy duty Makita branded tool carry bag with lots of interior pockets and Velcro straps to keep everything secure.

This is a great little inflator! Lightweight weighing only 3 pounds. The 18V battery should be good for about 6 months between charges. The auto preset works really well. I tested it against an electronic and analog gauge and it was spot on. Unlike many inflators this one does not start pumping when you turn it on. It has a trigger that you pull to start pumping. Some may not like the trigger as it does not have a trigger lock, but I find it nice. It came with a sports ball needle, tapered adapter and a presta valve adapter. Topping off was quick. I would wait about 2 seconds and then pull the trigger again and it would run another 1/2/ to 1 seconds. As far as noise it was about the same as other portable inflators I have used. The bag was not in the box but the manufacturer sent me one right away. I thought it would be just for the inflator but as you can see the it is setup nicely for other tools. It is made of heavy industrial quality fabric. It has two handles and came with an adjustable shoulder strap.

This is a great kit for the money. It comes with everything you need to inflate a variety of items. Great to air up sports balls, tubes, pool inflatables, bike tires, and car tires. We plan to carry this in our Jeep to reinflate tires after off-roading. It only takes a few seconds to air up a bike tire. It does take about 2 minutes to air up our Jeep tire from 15 psi to 35 psi.

I was leery when ordering this. I figured it would be good for bicycles and basketballs and such,(and it is) Boy was I wrong. This pump is incredible, It took about 8 minutes but it got my r/v tires from 75 lbs, of pressure to 100 lbs in no time. I never thought it would be able to fill the tires on my R/V. It got a little warm but never got Hot. I am going to keep this on board in the r/v whenever I take a trip and the rest of the time it will be in my pickup truck. It also has a blower attachment which is great for cleaning computer keyboards, car dashboard and any other crack and crevice . Well made to last a long time.

Makita DMP180SYX is a kit that includes the 18 Volt inflator, an 18 Volt Battery, a Makita battery charger, and a tool bag. The inflator has a built-in base so it sets firmly on the ground or any flat surface. The hose is over 2 feet long so it will reach the valve. The work light is bright and directs the beam straight ahead. The best feature however, is how fast it works. Without an adapter, the hose works with Shrader valves. The kit includes an adapter for Presta valves, as well as a needle valve for sports balls; and one air tip for inflating blow-up toys and some air mattresses. It also has an accurate pressure gauge which may be set to the desired air pressure. The pump will stop automatically when that level is reached.

This is a great portable inflator that would be good for soccer coaches, bicycle tires, or even to have quick access to inflate your car tires. The inflator has a small LED light to help find your way. The power button let's you operate the buttons without pushing the start button. The backlit pressure guage makes it easy to set your max pressure and not worry about over-inflating. The long hose means you dont have to hold it in an awkward position while in use. The pump comes with a battery and charger, but no bag which is kind of disappointing. But to be honest, I have so many other bags it's not a big deal.

Makita 18V Cordless Inflator Kit. Kit includes the inflator, one battery, one charger and a tool bag. But for some reason I did not receive the tool bag. Nice features. LED light to see what you're doing. Backlit digital pressure indicator. You can set the pressure you need and the unit will automatically shut off when you hit that pressure. There is an on-off power switch along with a trigger switch to start the unit. The battery indicates the power level. Maximum 120 pound pressure. Accessories for beach floats and basketball / footballs. With a battery operated unit, you can take the unit to the beach and fill your floats there vs at your car. Rubber feet on the bottom of the unit to minimize the unit moving around from vibration.

First, it is portable like a battery powered drill. That is a huge feature because unlike cheap, discount store inflators that are ridiculously awkward (don’t forget the attachments all over the place) and require a power source like a plug or car power source The Makita inflator carries its own power plant. Secondly, the 18V LXT rechargeable battery is powerful enough to push air for everything from pool floats to truck tires. Seriously. The unit has a unique feature that conveniently stores all the attachments for all your various applications right on the snout for easy access. The unit also features a very bright LED light to see what you are doing in the dark (which also stays on if you just want the light and not the inflator) and a sufficient hose to easily reach the valves on whatever you need to inflate. The hose also features an interesting reinforced collar where the inflation tube meets the base for protection from bending and splitting. What I personally liked best about the unit is the interchangeable ends for the inflator. I like being able to blow up the tires on my truck as well as the pool floats my kids use. A rechargeable battery with the charger is the bomb since the charge holds for a very long time! I was able to inflate 7 tractor tires from flat to 32 psi (6 minutes tops/each tire), 5 pool floats, 6 bicycles and 3 garden wagons before it needed a recharge. Storing it is a breeze because it takes up the space of a battery drill and all attachments are onboard. What’s not to like? I am completely hooked on this Makita cordless inflator. Worth every penny! Highly recommend (and it takes a lot to get that rating from me being hyper critical of all things battery driven) as well as a great idea for your family member’s cars (for emergencies, etc.) or even as an awesome gift. 5*’s all the way!

I was pleasantly surprised by this great tool set . Makita really made this a great gift set . The storage bag holds all the tools and the charger . I like that each tool has a built in light something lacking on the tools i had in my workshop already , The quick charger will charge the batteries in about 40 minutes and has a charge indicator so you know how long it will take to complete the charge. All tools have quick change of the attachments such as blades and drills. The set only came with one saw blade so be sure to buy the tool set to go with this if your getting it for a gift. For the DYI person in your life battery operated tools are the best. No cords to worry about . and you can grab them quick and get the job done fast. Each tool has a clip or attachment for easy hanging of the tool as well . It comes with two batteries so you always can have one charging while using the other. if need be . The tools come with a one year warranty as well.

Works really well on our car tires. Topped off 3 vehicles (12 tires) and only had to swap out the battery once.

This is my second purchase of the 18V LXT Inflator. I carry one in both of my vehicles now. Air pressure is accurate. Work as intended.

I bought the inflator because I already have Makita brand and batteries. It seems self explanatory to use, however it does not always want to fill or sense correctly. When it does sense correctly, the tool works great. The biggest con is there is not an auto trigger. you have to hold the button manually. I have seen videos where you can rig something to fix this.

Works pretty great for what it is, but rated four stars for the simple fact that you can set the desired air pressure but the the trigger doesn’t lock on. So you still have to sit there anyway. Probably better suited for small items needing air.

Works great on all types of tires. So portable!
