Marshalltown makes this trowel in China and the USA. You have to look at the markings to determine which one is USA, and which one is Chinese. The red handle is usually USA and the black is Chinese. I bought some of both. Without a doubt, the USA trowel was superior. I used it exclusively on a major brick pointing project. it worked flawlessly. The Chinese one, not so much. The metal is not as thick, the paint came off and the handle was inferior. Pay a little more, and get a lot more: buy USA every chance you get. The superior workmanship and especially the quality of USA Steel is better than any other place in the world: including Germany. And, I'm USA/German.

I use this trowel for a lot of my brick/mortar work and it does the job. Its light and easy to use. It is easy to clean for the most part as well and no major rust.

The product was used for the task it was designed for and worked well.

THE TROWEL TURNED OUT TO BE THE PROPER SIZE FOR THE JOB I WAS DOING. I WAS ABLE TO FINISH THE JOB QUICKLY THE THE FINISHED PRODUCT LOOKED GOOD.

I needed the pointing trowel to fill in mortar in between some of the foundation stones of my 104 house. The point of the trowel is exactly what I need to put the mortar in the crevices evenly. I would recommend that the sales personnel learn more about the mortar homeowners need to do this job.
