It is also important to note that when using any of our "tall" planters that use the "tray" system that lightweight fillers like Styrofoam, lightweight pine bark mulch, vermiculite or pearlite are recommended to reduce the overall weight placed on the tray to prevent collapse. Hello, thanks for your feedback. Our products are made from 100% polyethylene which is plastic/resin. This allows us to add in UV inhibitors to the material which creates an all season planter that has a 15 year warranty against fading, cracking and bulging. The texture added to the mold to create this planter is to remove the look of plastic. I'm sorry to hear that that look didn't satisfy you 100%. I know that Home Depot has a great return policy if you find that you don't completely love them!

Typically when we see this issue of bulging it is either because the overflow drain hole has not been drilled or has become blocked, causing the pressure of the water in the base to push the walls of the planter out and the tray to collapse.

The material Mayne products are made from has incredible memory; once the planter is emptied and the pressure of any excess water/soil is relieved, the planter should slowly return to its original form.

If you have verified that the drainage was properly drilled and if you have emptied the planter and it does not seem to be reforming, please feel free to send photos to customerservice@gomayne.com showing the location of the drain hole as well as any remaining warping and we will be happy to review further.
