I live on the seas side so lots of wide open open strong winds. This has only spun/worked once in my 3 months of ownership and that was during a storm and it stopped itself before 400Watts. It just doesn't spin I would write a lot more but text limit hit?

I like the watt meter. The green LED light is a little too bright. Good value for the money.

The turbine isn’t turning as we expected.

As stated in other reviews - it did not pivot/swivel easily and was returned.

I returned it unopened because of all the poor reviews.

Finally got all the parts put it up and the first time the wind was over 20 miles and hour it would not stop. Turned the brake on and it still kept spinning. Wires and hot cant stop it from turning. It has imploded not a good product

This thing has not Produce not one time. I've had it up for 2months and on day with 20mph wind I get nothing. Do not buy this!!!

This is our second N-Power. First one performed well for years and has only been replaced before an extended out of country sail. The new one was also less expensive, always nice.

I have had this installed for about 1 month. The only reason I would not give this generator 5 stars is that I just haven't had it exposed to the elements long enough to determine reliability. Other than that, I am happy with it, especially at the price compared to many that cost 3 times as much. As the manual says, don't expect the blades to start turning freely until fully broken in, or in any gentle breeze less than 7 mph. All small wind gens need a steady strong breeze to produce useable power. Most locations in suburban areas won't have these conditions often. I intend to do a permanent installation on my boat but for now, I installed it temporarily on a 12 foot pole at my house in a corner that seems to get a lot of gusty winds. It has been working for the few hours this month when we got breezy weather. The charge controller works fine, showing output up to 60W on the display ( 5A at 12V on a separate multimeter), connected to a discharged 12V battery, during wind gusts I estimated to be about 15mph at most. A lot of people who own other types of wind generators on sailboats complain that they are noisy or make vibration. That doesn't seem to be a problem with this one. In operation during wind gusts it is so quiet that I really couldn't notice it unless I stand right under it and listen closely, and there was only a very slight vibration to be felt in the mounting pole. Electrical connections are very simple, just connect the three red wires from the generator to the three red wires on the controller. The other two wires, red and black, are the 12 to 14 volt outputs to a 12V battery.

I'm impressed with the enginuity,the material is great and they way the controller almost completely stops the turbine when fully charged rather than just disconnecting the power internally in the controller so that way it saves the life of the turbine. . .

At first it was confusing since all the wires were black, but after talking to the technicians, we got the turbine wired and ready to go. We definitely like the meter box that shows how many volts are going into the system. It's been up for just over a week and we are happy with it.

Has not charged a backup battery yet. Hopeing !!!!

I like itI am planning on adding a different hub with more and wider blades for better production in my lower average wind speed. The three narrow blades require more wind than is usual in most places I camp. The charge controller works fine. The three phase output is great because you can use smaller gauge wire from the turbine to the controller.

With the 3 blades provided it takes a good wind to even spin. It needs to spin fast enough to be a blur before it puts out power. Sends a very noticeable hum thru the rv if mounted directly to the rv structure. Works good though. I plan on replacing the hub with a 9 or 11 blade one to get better output in more normal wind speeds. Controller is nice, reads output in watts which is a bit of trouble to be constantly converting to amps if that is how you like to monitor your production. This is a partial battery charging option as unless you are in a very windy all the time location you will need to supplement your charging with solar, generator or _shore power. I like mine. Gets lots of looks, thumbs up and conversations for sure.

We were really excited about this product for off-the-grid power, as our property is always very windy. Unfortunately, it does not turn consistently, and so our battery reserves keep dropping power with it. It is a lovely sight and a beautiful sound the rare times it does turn though. For now, we are using solar panels and occasionally a gas-powered generator as our source of energy. Going to look for a better wind generator, as with the wind that we always have, it would be a wonderful power solution! 2 months off the grid ... and counting. We are Happy Homesteaders! :)

The first problem encountered was the blade hub mounting nut. The manual shows it as a locking nut, the one I received is not. So when a gust of wind hits the blades it tightens the nut to a point where the blades will not turn. I superglued the nut for now, but will need to purchase a "Nylock" nut. Second problem is that when the unit receives a gust that spins it over 1400 RPM, it shuts down. So in the middle of the night when you expect to charge all night, you awake to a solid red light, brake on, and dead batteries....If I had known of this "feature" I would have not purchased this unit.

Turbine jammed after only about 2 weeks of operation. Do not buy this product.

I am very happy with the performance of this Turbine. It was easy to install and was able to charge the batteries at my remote tower site.

Lightweight and fairly easy to install (although we have a very electrically inclined friend-I don't know if I could have done it alone). It works as a supplement to our solar power in the winter, but we live in a very gusty, windy area. It takes quite a bit of wind to actually spin the blades-no gentle breezes, but we are happy with it!

The wind generator is easy to install. And quality looks good. But the blades are to thin and will not start making power until wind is above 18 mph. I have install at other tower sites 450 watt ari wind generators and they start making power at 5 mph and full power by 15 mph. Will not be buying any more of these.

3 blades are so narrow doesn't matter if wind is blowing 10 mph. It doesn't generate as it should. I made a mistake buying this. So many out there start spinning at lower speeds.. it MIGHT work if more or wider blades..

So far disappointing start as it doesn't seem to generate under 19 mph wind speed. Hope for better after 109 hour bearing break in period

I just finished installing it on the weekend so it is a little early to comment on the long terms quality but so far, I love it! I am getting much more out of this wind turbine than my solar panels. I was advised to install it at least 20 feet high and I am glad I did as it seems the wind is much better above the trees. It took me and a friend most of the afternoon to install it but we did a good job and watching it spin and create energy puts a smile on my face.

The quality seems good. You need a steel pole to mount the unit on and the manual says 20ft high. I use this product to help provide power to an outlet building. It keeps my 12V AGM batteries charged to run lights and electronics. Charging kicks in around 12mph and best charging after 20mph. This is a perfect compliment to my small solar array. I love using off-grid products!
