Great product for insulating floor, easy to use!
I installed this under the laundry room which was built over the garage space without any insulation. The joists were 16" OC and 9.5" from the subfloor down. These batts fit perfectly - I was able to easily compress them into the space with a nice friction fit and the insulation easily "molded" around small obstructions, pipes, etc. The batts held well on their own, but I also used the facing (extends 1" past insulation) to staple to the joists. Great product!

Don't buy the bulk pack!
I recently purchased 3, 8 pack pallets of R-30 insulation through the Home Depot website. It took a couple of weeks to show up but that was alright. After installing the 24 bags worth of insulation I realized I needed just a couple more bags to complete the project, so I checked pricing on the individual bags. I was surprised to see the individual bag price was only slightly more than I paid per bag when I bought the 8 pack pallets. HOWEVER, the individual bag pricing offers about a 20% discount if you purchase 15 bags or more...
8 pack Pallet Price $699 = $87.38 per bag
Single Bag Price $93.30
15 + Bag Price $74.64
I don't have a problem with the product, but Home Depot is refusing to honor the bulk pricing on my bulk order, so I'm not satisfied with the purchase at all.. I hope my $400+ mistake helps someone save a little money on their next big purchase. Personally, I'll be shopping elsewhere for my next big purchase.

This eco insulation(devil's cotton candy) is true to nickname it smells like the "devil" is burning his cookies! This insulation stinks to high heaven of burning wire/cookies... had to air it out for days before installing and it still smells!

Good stuff, cross layered on top of existing attic insulation for added thermal protection.
Fairly easy inexpensive DIY upgrade. Bats required less cutting than rolls & were easy to work with.
My wife did the attic install as she was a better fit for the tight space.
It took about 4 hours total cleanup included to install approx. 420 sq ft &
our bedroom is much warmer now.

Instant results! Easy and quick to install. Noticed results same day as the desert heat is now reduced in our laundry room that had no insulation above it. Bags are awkward to get up in a small attic entrance so have a helper ready.

Better than the huge roll and much better than lowes
Great insulation and much more appealing to the eye (and a better value) than the same insulation at Lowes. I applied this R30 between the joists of my new addition and was amazed how easy it was to instal over the continuous rolls. There was a noticeable difference in the floor temperature as soon as I installed it. I also covered the insulation with plywood to protect it from the elements and moisture.
Here's a tip, if you're buying more than a few try and get a pre bundled pack (they're wrapped in plastic mesh which makes transporting them much easier).
Pay attention to the rebates as well. Here in California we have a local utility rebate as well as the federal tax credit!!

Good quality insulation just slightly expensive
Cheaper than price of some batts but still almost twice that of similar rolled insulation. Not sure why batts have to be expensive. It does fluff out very easily and nicely compared to the R30 rolled I picked up. Also fun to open up, slice a bag open and look out you've got a big pile of insulation on your hands. Kids would love watching that part of it, even adults slightly amused at how much volume is in one of these bags. Used these batts as first layer of an R60 combo. Second layer ownes R30 unfaced rolled. The insulation on the batts seams bit fluffier and better quality. They're a nice size too and easy to piece together and get up into an attic opening. Plan to do rest of the house with same stuff. Will need 7 more bags. These bags are pretty heavy and bulky so eat your wheaties before heading out to the store.

Terrible quality control!
I picked up a 4 of these in a large wrapped bundle at my local HD. I made the mistake of opening the bundles and packages the day I had to do the insulation work. To my horror, all of the pieces in *all 4* bags (44 total pieces) had the kraft paper glued on incorrectly/crooked/off-center. Some even had big splotches of deep pink coloring chemicals. One was so bad that the paper was glued on all crinkled on less than half of one side! The problem with the paper being off center is that one side has too much paper to staple and the other has none. Terrible, terrible, terrible. To think I was going to buy another product and figured it's better to go with the name brand. Now I have to compress them back in order to return them. Arrrgh.
Lesson: Check the ends before you buy this!
