This rice cooker is way too slow for making brown rice - almost two hours! I'd rather make it in a stove top pot (25 minutes). It is also very heavy and cumbersome to lift and move, and takes up more counter space than it's worth in a small kitchen. That's why I returned it and purchased one that is compact, makes okay brown rice in about 55 minutes, and keeps it warm.

Works well, including the brown-rice cycle that we still need to work a bit with to get the moisture just right, but so far it meets our need very nicely.

We have been using a SR-DG102 - Panasonic (5 cups uncooked) for last 8 years and we just wanted to replace that though it still works well except for cosmetic on the inner pot. We checked and found this model is no longer in production now and chose Fuzzy Logic SR-DF 101 of the same size. Home Depot delivered that in 3 days and looks just great. We have tried that out for a month or so and found perfect with all the functions mentioned on board.
We found this rice cooker a perfect choice for up to 7 people. I highly recommend this item if you look to buy a rice cooker. We even baked cakes on SR-DG 102 and expect this item will also work for that.
