overall quality is good but I returned it because it was too small. the specs say it fits a rough opening of 13.5 I believe but the actual measurement of the cabinet was 12.5 wide. If you are trying to get something to fit in an existing hole that is 14.5 distance between studs, then this isn't what you want. The specs should list the exact size of the recessed cabinet.

Loved them! They're not up yet but look forward to that time that they are!

The mirror is fine, but the installation instructions were terrible - clearly not written by anyone who has ever had to install this product and definitely not customer tested before printing.

Product was/is fine. I was able to figure out the instructions for installation, but they were vague at best.

It really looks terrific. I would recommend that if you are re doing your bath, make the medicine cabinet your 1st move. We tiled to the ceiling and getting the tile right and getting the frame for the cabinet right was no easy task. Also, tell your electrician to use a round box if your light has a round bottom as getting the tile right with an oblong box is very difficult. If you are ordering stone for your sink be careful that you know the measurement of the depth of the stone. If it is over the norm which I think is 3/4 then you can only use a center hole faucet like the Moen 6600. Ours just barely fits under the mirror. It is best to use over head lights as side lights, which look the best, don't allow the cabinet to open fully. There are several reviews here that deal with the frame part and are a must read as if you think the dimensions are correct in the printed stats your cabinet will not fit.

We just put it in today and we are not done with the bath remodle. Love the looks of it.

Happy I got it. Looks nice Heard it was hard to install, but I have bare walls so it shouldn't be a problem to recess it.

The frame of the mirror was cheap plastic. The frame was also so wide that there was very little mirror. Who needs a mirrored interior? No it did not meet my expectations so I returned it. I only had it long enough to take it out of the box and look at it before I returned it.

Great looking oval medicine cabinet. Roomy inside and attractive looking from the outside. Easy installation and reasonable price. Definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for convenience of a vanity mirror and storage of small personal items for daily use.

LARGE, roomy cabinet. My contractors were having trouble with the instructions on how to install as a recessed cabinet. They said it didn't look like it would work. So since there was plenty of room in that bathroom I had them to just hang it. With the mirrors on the sides of the cabinet it looks nice & works just fine. I am happy with it.

This is a very nice medicine cabinet that can be recessed or wall surface mounted. I personally had mine recessed and it looks beautiful, it sits flush to the wall. I had my contractor put this in when I had my bathroom remodel. In addition the oval mirror you see on the outside is not only the beauty of this product because on the other side of the door is a full mirror as well. Also note that there is a mirror behind the shelves making this a gorgeous addition to a bathroom.

Love the mirror and it looks great but the cabinet specifications listed on the page are wrong.

This is a very nice medicine cabinet. Most people who see it have thought it was just a mirror and didn't know it was a medicine cabinet. I did do the recess install which helps with this I guess. The only issue I had was that i went off the directions and the measurements were off and it makes the cut out bigger than you need. I was able to correct it so it still looks nice. But i would make sure you double check before you start cutting...and then check again.

The quality and look is fine, but I bought this mirror to fit a specific wall opening of 17.5" by 13.5", which is what the details of this mirror listed. However, those are actually the measurements of the frame that surrounds the recessed opening. The actual drywall opening you need is 16.5" by 12.5". Hope this helps any other DIY homeowners save some time and effort.

We purchased two of these oval mirrored medicine cabinets to replace an existing 7 foot mirror and two unattractive medicine cabinets. The bronze finish perfectly complements our new oil rubbed bronze faucets and vanity lights and are a striking addition to the master bath. Mounting was done by a contractor and required some effort because the studs were not perfectly aligned behind the sinks requiring some extra work. I highly recommend these for anyone looking for a more elegant look in any bathroom.

The mirror is great. Well built, nice frame and looks real nice. The rough opening width says 13.5 but the cabinet is 12.5". It gets wider if you add the brackets and mirrors to the sides (wall mount). If you are recess mounting go by the 12.5". Also, it can't fit flush to your wall, the mirror at the hinge side needs clearance to open. I framed the opening with 3/4 inch thick pine. Took about 1.5 hours to install. The mirror is big, the inside also has a mirror. I would surely buy this again, has weight, hinge for door is substantial and should hold up to lots of use. This is my first medicine cabinet install so maybe other more experience folks would have a different view.

Love the mirror itself but the closing mechanism is terrible. We can not get it to stay closed. The magnet attached to the mirror on the inside keeps coming off even though I've super glued it several times. Otherwise the mirror looks nice. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the door latched? It is so aggravating......

3 or 4 days after I installed the cabinet the metal circle on the back side of the mirror stuck to the magnet when I opened the door. The circle was only held on by a few small strips of double stick tape. The magnet was too strong and ripped the metal circle off the back of the mirror.

An amendment to my earlier review. After the initial installation the maintenance man had installed the shelves. I found that I needed to store some items that were tall and therefore needed more space between the shelves. It was really hard for me to remove and reinstall the clips that support the glass shelves. After some cussing and taking a few breaks I finally got the clips out and reinstalled except for the last clip which was in the middle next to the magnetic latch that holds the mirror closed. There is a hole there to accommodate the clip but you can't install the clip as the latch is in the way. Also, the glass shelf would not fit at this level because of the latch protruding. So, actually the shelves are not as adjustable as I had thought. If you want one shelf to be able to hold something only 3 inches tall or use the more even spacing you are good to go. Otherwise you have a choice of installing only one shelf or not having a shelf to stand a tube of toothpaste or other items that are that tall.

This cabinet is made very nicely. The inside has a mirror behind the shelves and another on the backside of the cabinet door. The inside of the cabinet itself looks to be chrome but I'm sure it is some type of a polished metal. There are two thick glass shelves which are adjustable by about 2 inches up or down. This should enable you to store any size bottle in the cabinet. Separate mirrors were included that you could put on the sides of the cabinet for a surface mount. This really adds some class. You are not looking at a metal cabinet from any outside angle. The frame is definitely oval not round. The frame looks to be a very dark wood with a decorative beading of the same color. The frame is not wood but plastic but it is very hard to tell. The color is a very dark brown which went nicely with my new dark vanity cabinet. Looks like they were made for each other. The install was done by an experienced maintenance man so I can't comment on the install except for the fact he didn't seem to have any problems even while holding up the cabinet during the install. (Guess that is maybe a secret of his trade.) The cabinet was installed yesterday so I can't attest to its durability. This installation was done in a rental apartment to replace a medicine cabinet and mirror that was only large enough to see your head and would hold not much of anything. I think I will really enjoy this new one.
