I bought this to replace an identical ballast that failed after only a year. It's in our walk-in closet's light fixture, so it doesn't get heavy usage or a lot of switching off and on. I bought another one because fluorescent ballasts for T12 lamps are getting harder to find, and I'm hoping this one lasts longer than the last one. The one I replaced a year ago had only been in service for a short time and I got an exchange for it at the store. The original magnetic ballast lasted for 12 years. I write the dates inside the fixture with a Sharpie, to keep track of when I've replaced them. Fortunately I can still do it myself. If I had to hire an electrician, I'd switch to an LED fixture.

Perfect replacement for my specific use case. Product has smaller footprint than the old ballasts I replaced, so weight reduction is beneficial.

Used this to repair 3 light fixtures (2 different models). Worked great in all of them. I was pleased that the mounting brackets on the ballast fit nicely in all 3 fixtures.

It works where the old one didn’t so it gets 5 stars for that. Otherwise, I have no idea about its longevity. I’ll let you know.
