This is really a pretty, functional fire pit. It is super heavy and solid. It has an optional steel table lid that you can use to change this from a fire pit to an accent table. Our lid arrived with some dents but I really didn't plan on using it but is a nice option. The mosaic edge is wide enough to set things on when there is not a fire. It comes with a cooking grid, wood grate, mesh screen and fire poker. There is a ash catcher under the bowl. I can't wait to have a fire. Unfortunately, it's still too not here!!

I was really excited to set up a firepit in an area of my yard that doesn't get much use, so I ordered this nice-looking option. Indeed, when it arrived, it proved to be as good looking in person as in the photos. It even got the "wife seal of approval" as soon as she saw it! But that's where the good part ends. As far as I'm concerned, this is practically a half-scale fire pit. It's so small that it would be hard to do anything with it. Yes, you can light a fire, but if you intend to use the mesh cover, your logs better be tiny - link kindling size! And the table itself is also surprisingly low to the ground. If you're sitting in a chair next to it, you'll be bending down to reach anything. It's about a foot and a half tall. That's just too short to comfortably use, and it's something that could have easily be remedied with longer table legs without adding much to the cost. And that's not all - the "cooking grid" is really deceptive. You can't cook anything on this, because the cooking grid sits just a few inches above the bottom of the firepit. You can possibly fit any fuel underneath it, except maybe a few charcoals, which you food would then practically be touching. It's a no-go. The other thing I'm a bit disappointed by is the ash catcher. Yes, there is a tray, but you can't remove it. What's the point? Even if you could fit both wood and foot in this firepit, you wouldn't want to use it for food because it's essentially impossible to clean. Overall, if you're looking for a small, attractive firepit that's more for decorating your lawn, then this firepit could work out well, but actual firepit use, it's just not the right product.

We had a slightly smaller fire pit the last two winters which was nice to have. After letting a family member borrow it who loved it so much we opted to let them keep it and get a bigger one for us. Enter the 34" Charlotte which does increase our size and the option to grill...? (more on that later) Everything come in a box ready for assembly. You'll just need a screwdriver and the included wrench. There are only about 10 or so steps so it's not too hard, but the stone covered ring is a bit heavy so having a second set of hand would be nice. Love the bigger size, I think it looks good, and I like that it has a lid. It's also got some heft, so a blessing in that it feels solid but you'll likely need two people to move it around. It also advertises you can cook with it however I don't really think it would work. The distance between the grilling surface and the grate that would hold your coals is really shallow. You'd have a tough time keeping your food from burning while being so close to such direct heat. Maybe get a great sear on a steak, but that's about it. Overall happy thus far and hope to get a few winters use out of it before another family member decided to 'borrow' this one too!

This is a gorgeous fire pit. The mosaic tile surround with copper embellishments looks high end. You can feel the weight of the fire pit. It's strong and sturdy and I have high hopes that it will hold up to lots of use. The bowl is easily removable for cleaning and disposing of ashes. I love the grates that come with the fire pit and how they sit perfectly inside. It's a well-thought out and well executed design. The poker and mesh screen are essential tools for any fire pit. The mesh screen feels strong enough, but it doesn't sit level on our fire pit, so I think it's slightly bent. The table top has a handle that makes it easy to lift on and off. It has an understated brushed bronze pattern. Our table top has a very noticeable dent in it (disappointing), but it seems heavy. I'm a little concerned that it will continue to get frequent dents and dings over time. The table top also doesn't seem to sit quite square on top of the fire pit. This is a great size fire pit for a family to enjoy in the fall months or roasting s'mores in the summer. I'm sure this will feature prominently in many family memories!

I have always wanted a fire pit and was excited when the package arrived. I was even more delighted once assembled, an awesome addition to our backyard. The Fire Pit arrived in perfect condition weighing about 62 pounds. It was effortless moving to the garage for assembly with a hand truck. The Pleasant Hearth Fire Pit is very well made, high quality and simple to move once assembled. The manual features large print and well illustrated pictures. All the parts including the wrench were in the box. It took roughly 20 to 30 minutes to assemble. Great quality with eye-catching natural slate tile surround to hold your glass while enjoying the conversation. Great feature- fire pit can also be used as a table when not in use, comes with a table lid. (see picture) Wood grate, grill for cooking and poker included. Works perfectly in our backyard. We are looking forward to many enjoyable evenings. Great Product!

Very nice-looking and seems to be solidly built. Love having the screen and the poker. Only two drawbacks--The grill grate sits too close to the bottom so food is right next to the heat making temperature control impossible. Wish the grill were bigger so it would sit in the top groove where the screen rests. Also, not deep enough to put standard cut firewood in unless you don't use the screen (or just let the screen sit on top of the pile of wood until it burns down a bit).

Wonderful and functional, especially for the price! The legs are sturdy when stationary, but you will not want to drag this firepit along the grass - it needs to be lifted up if you want to move it (which is very easy to do with two people). Very sturdy tabletop with beautiful stone finish, which also doubles as a very nice table. No trouble cleaning it. We’ve used it a couple times so far and love it!

Given how quickly the bowl rusted, investing in a new one each and every year is not worth it.

The fire pit is not very sturdy. All instructions were followed and parts were used in the assembly. Also, the concrete was cracked and the metal ring around it has sharp edges here and there. All in all, it is usable, but, if you are looking for a quality fire pit, this is not it.

Assembly straightforward, only additional tool is a Phillips-head screwdriver. This is an attractive portable fire pit. The bowl itself is a bit shallow, so don't expect to use a lot of logs at once. The outer ring has a slate mosaic set in mortar; this is the piece that gives the fire pit it's considerable weight. Bear in mind that the metal will rust unless you keep it covered. Manual states to "Store in a cool, clean, dry place."

Loving this awesome fire pit! Nothing makes the outdoors more cozy than a crackling fire! It’s still rather warm where I live, but in the meantime the file pit has a lid which lets it function as a table –nice! I don’t have to store it away at the end of the season and it can hang around on my patio all year round. The fire bowl is durable and well made. I am really impressed with its ability to also function as a quasi-grill of sorts – I don’t intend to grill on this because I don’t want to deal with food parts, grease, etc. but I am still delighted I have another option if my full size grill is out of commission.

Beautiful Mosaic Design Firepit/w Tabletop Feature! Love the looks of this Fire Pit! Very rich,elegant design. The 34" round design is perfect, no bumping your legs on the corners as with other fire pits.Real slate mosiac with random copper inserts add so much beauty to this unit. I love all the features with it too. It can be changed from a firepit by lifting off the mesh cover and inserting the solid rubbed bronze lid to make it a table. The grates for cooking, the opening at the bottom to allow ashes(and rain water) to drain out,are an added feature.The poker has 2 hook like extentions at the end to let you easily and safely lift up the grates. A nice handle on the mesh lid is easy to use. This whole unit is very sturdy and made with high quality steel,with good firm leg supports at the bottom! We are going to have many nice warm evenings using this on our paver patio this fall and winter because living in Arizona we can use it almost all year long. Hot Dogs, Smores and MORE!!!

This is a beautiful slate fire pit that has more than one function. The fire pit can be used to cook on with the installed grate or as a table with a replaceable top or just a fire pit. The fire pit should not be use on a deck and only on a surface like concrete block because the bottom of the fire pit has a hole to let the ash escape and a mesh screen for the top to stop embers from spreading. The assembly is on the heavy side of about 60 pounds and the slate looks like high end for this price point.

I am totally in love with this awesome fire pit! Having used some of the older style fire pits this one was a delightful change in design. I will admit I was surprised by the weight but that only means it will be kept in one spot and not moved around. The slate top is beautiful. Every detail seems to be well thought out - the cooking grid, the ash catcher, the holes to drain water all are items you would want to have in a fire pit. Well worth the price and a piece that will be in use for a long time!
