Ridgid is a quality company. Every 5-10 years they revamp their battery line. This is the older style, whoch actually has sone advantages over the new bats, namely the rubberized protection/anti slip cover st the bottom and sides of the battery. Battery longetivity is determined by the number of amps(amp hours). This one is 1.5, the smallest amount available on ridgid 18volt platform. Usually these bats come in kits and are included. If you are buying it, consider 2.0,3.0,4.0 batteries. For some applications small size and weight are optimal so then this and the 2.0 batteries shine. High quality customer service to answer your questions from RIDGID and help you figure out what’s wrong and fix it.

This is a nice radio and seems rugged. I really wanted to like it because I have lots of Ridged tools and it is compatible with my batteries. The main issue is that is does not turn up load enough. You can hear it OK in a closed off room, but no a job site it is useless. The Ridged app did not work, but I was not really bothered by this because I could easily get it to work via Bluetooth. If Ridged ever creates a version of this I can actually hear I would be in line to purchase the product. I would not recommend this unless you are listening in a quite place.

This is perfect for what we wanted! He uses when he's working on things (gotta have safety equipment), and I use it when doing stuff around the yard! Bonfires, gardening, hanging out! Perfect!

so, the radio works great, sounds good, blue tooth range isn't the best but is comparable to everything else I have used. my only gripe is that it doesn't charge the battery when plugged it, how did they miss on this feature almost every other radio charges their batteries when plugged in.

Cant charge batteries, which makes this nothing more than a big and tough speaker

I bought combo kit a year ago. Both batteries are dead already. Tried contacting rigid and they never have responded. Will never buy another

Used it for a couple of days and then it just stopped working. Something about a fuse and riguds customer service sucks.

Well built and yes I would recommend this radio, but If the sound quality was a little better I would have given it a higher rating.

Speakers seem like they will easily blow if you have it up too loud.

Easy to connect Bluetooth the screen is a little flaky

The only thing I could recommend would be some waterproofing if it rains ya gotta put it away!

If you want a needlessly large radio that serves no other function this product will work. However I was getting the same function from rigids smaller radios and could fit them in my pack out. This product is overpriced for what you get from it.

Meh. The older version is louder and sounds way better. Display on this one is completely useless outdoors as you can't see it and it could use a place to store the connected phone like in the old one. Honestly other than the bluetooth it's a long ways from an upgrade when compared to the older model but it gives us field tunes and is better than nothing.

Like it alot wise it charged the battery when plugged in. Only thing I don't like about it . Wish I knew before buying.

For $130 you can something just as loud that fits inside the tool box. I thiught this would serve as a charger for the batteries but it doesnt. Bluetooth is weak. And tbh, is not that loud. Pocket on the side doesnt fot my iphone ( i have the iohone mini with a slim case. USB port is a 1amp and not a good choice if you qant to charge your phone— good if you want to maintain your phone charged while you play music and is plugged in.
