I had some unevenness in my floor causing a few of my 12x24 tile edges to be level. This product was simple to use and brought all my tiles to level. I would recommend this product to any DIYer that wants a level floor.

Maybe these would have worked better if 1) I were an experienced tiler, and 2) I laid all tile in one go. But I am a novice and laid the tile over three separate days (Day1: First run, Day2: All whole tiles, Day3: All tiles that required cuts). If you don't lay all of the tile in one session and you don't remember to place all Spacers in the edges and corners of each tile when the mortar is still wet enough then the next day you can't add them without major trowel digging under the edges and corners of each tile. That was a major hassle leading to scraped knuckles and a lot of frustration. Now that I know what's up when I tile my Master Bath I will use them again and with a little more skill under my belt I think they'll be an advantage to prevent lippage. Another issue is if your mortar squeezes up on the spacer when tightening the top piece you can't see mortar squeezing up. Leading to more scraping. Thankfully I bought diamond cutting wheels for my Dremmel tool so with extreme care I was able to grind away the excess mortar with ease. Just wear a mask! Last hint: Wear heavy boots when kicking the tops off and ONLY kick them straight on the line and not sideways. If you do they'll crack and you'll have to dig them out or like me use a razor and cut the remaining plastic away then use my diamond Dremmel wheel to clean out the area for proper grouting. I know this sounds like a bad review but I actually do think these are a good system to avoid tile lippage with a few of these helpful hints.

Scratched glazed porcelain tile
I used these on 12x24 polished (glazed) porcelain tiles. Just about everywhere that I installed a spacer, I have a circular scratch in the tile glaze. Considering I used around 6 spacers per tile, there are about 6 half-circles of scratches on each one. You can easily see the scratches when the bathroom lights reflect on them. I am extremely disgusted that I'm strongly considering ripping out a brand new floor from my bathroom and redoing it, because the tiles scratched so easily. In hindsight, I should've ordered Spin Doctor protection shields, that go underneath the screw-on part, to protect the tile surface. Pretty sure they would work with LevelMax, since they're basically the same system. Too bad Home Depot doesn't make or sell them for their LevelMax system or give you any warning that your brand new tiles may be scratched. I've read most of the reviews for the tiles I bought and the LevelMax system and can't believe nobody else has the same complaint.

    Good System, Poor Quality Control
I went to Home Depot the other week to pick up more Zep LASH leveling system to do another bathroom in the house, but I found the RIGID Level Max instead. I decided to try it out. The system works well when you think about your joints and layout. The Spin Top sections are the key to simplicity of the system, but are poorly made. I bought a box of 100 and more than half were unusable. The threads at the top of the Spin Top were deformed and would not spin on properly. I spent more time looking for a working spin top instead of tiling. It’s very disappointing because the tops are supposed to be reusable, but when only half are, you are getting ripped off. If they fix the quality control, I would happily use it again, but I guess this is what cheap manufacturing gets you. In the meantime I’ll stick the the Zep product.

These work really well! The system is much easier to use than the other systems and doesn't require special tools. The tops (Part A) are re-usable and can be hand-tightened to level to the adjacent tiles. The posts come in three different types (B, C, D) - B posts are used between adjacent tile sides and C and D posts include spacers where 4 corners meet (C) or where two corners meet with one side (D). I had excellent results using the B posts everywhere along with spacers and ditching the C and D posts with the built-in spacers. Two lessons learned: 1) clean off excess mortar from the tile edges where the posts will go, makes it easier to remove and clean up after and, 2) I found that with the large-format tiles and thick mortar beds (1/2") that it's better to put the wing-part of the post against the back of the tile and not behind the mortar bed, especially if you are stopping for the night and starting again in the morning. If you place the wing behind the mortar bed, the mortar will dry and when you install the new tile next to it, the post will lean into the soft, new mortar and pull unevenly when tightening the top down. Not only is Ridgid Level Max great for virtually eliminating lippage, it also held the two 1'x1' marble squares in place so that I could perfectly align my grout lines. (see photo) Very reasonably priced, does the job well and only tool you will need it a rubber mallet to take them off.

I had high hopes that by using this leveler system that it would save on installation time. The result was that it more than doubled my time. The problem is that once these levelers are put in place, there is no easy way to clean up the thinset mortar that oozes up through the cracks. Therefore the mortar hardens and when it comes time to remove the levelers, you must now use a grout cleaning tool to remove the hardened thinset, and this is very time consuming and labor intensive- much more time expended than the time to individually clean the joints as you install the tiles. So, yes, the tiles are leveled as promised, but the cleanup time is much more intensive and lengthy. I used the levelers on about 2/3 of the work area, then finished the patio without them. The area where I did not use the levelers took less than 1/2 the time to install and cleanup and looked just as level as the area where I used the levelers. It just requires that you use the proper density of thinset and use care in placing the tile. I did not find the porcelain large tiles ( 6 x 24) to be that difficult to maintain levelness. Maybe on much larger tiles this system might be worth it, but, imo, anything under 6 x 24 can be installed much quicker without them.

I used them set some some 4 by 10 Subway tiles and I'm very pleased overall. It might add a few minutes more to laying I'll but I think it's worth it for a lip free result. My only complaint is that a few of the spin tops I've had bad threading and I was not able to use them.

This worked great for me. I had some lippage on my first shower project, so I was looking for a simple system that helped solve that. Simple to use - no special tools. They all knocked out cleanly the next day. Needed to order more of the spacers - couldn't find them stocked anywhere locally. So, just plan to have enough spacers for your project. I only used the flat stem spacers.

Whether you are a beginner or a professional, I highly recommend this product. It is very easy to use, and works perfectly. Start your project off with some self-leveling cement, mortar up your tiles and use this Anti-Lippage system to get a professionally laid and level floor.

These work great. You must set the tile on a flat and prepared sub floor or wall and the proper underlayment. You must use the correct size notched trowel for the tile. Example-these are usually designed to be used with larger tile. Not with small subway tile. 18x18, 6x24 woodplank and 12x24 (or larger) tile should be using a 1/2in notch trowel to set. Large tile are usually bowed and this makes sure there is coverage under the tile. I see reviews here where people cant get the tile to sit flat on the floor using these. Guess what. You need more thinset under the tile. Set the tile and slide these under the edge. These pull the tile up (yes up) and on plane to each other. Tighten well, clean as much of the squeezed out thinset as possible from the grout lines before you move on. Break off the next day in the direction of the grout line. I have have used thousands of these and other brands. They work great but dont make up for poor tile installation knowledge or poor floor or wall conditions. All these systems are meant to deal with the issues of larger tile not poorly prepared surfaces.

These are a huge headache. Tiles not laying flat, the bottom of the spacer holds the tile up off the backer board so they sound hollow after I laid them. The tabs don’t break down far enough so you have to try to cut with a razor. I had to lift and re-lay 4 tiles so far. Cutting tabs out cracked the edges of my tile. Overall I am really mad that I wasted money on these. Halfway through the job. Switched to traditional spacers. Save time and money and don’t buy these.

As a DIYer installing a tile backsplash for the very first time, I found this system invaluable. I gutted my kitchen and installed new cabinets, some electrical and plumbing but the tiling scared me because I know the backsplash can make or break a kitchen. This system helped me install 4X12 ceramic tiles on two walls with ease and eliminated any lippage that is inherent in this type of installation. The result is a beautiful kitchen with a perfectly flat backsplash.

Easy to install, no special tools. Does a great job eliminating the lippage and saves time. I broke 1 out of 100 by torquing too hard but if you are twisting that hard, you probably have an uneven floor below, too small notch in your trowel or a stone under the tile. No more blaming the tiles. Mandatory for longer wood look plank tiles. I'll never go back to hand level.

I was very pleased with this leveling system. I had read reviews that stated the white tab portion was too flimsy and was prone to break. I found this was not the case. On several tiles that I really needed to tighten down on, I used a screwdriver to torque the cap and I only had one tab break. None that were tightened by hand broke. I was very pleased with how fast and efficient this system allowed me to be. Cost was a huge upside to this system as well.

Really easy to use and great results even for a novice, I've done a few tile jobs on different homes I've owned and could always see where I wasn't a professional, haha, these took some of that away. They really did eliminate most of the lippage, if were doing large tiles again I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

I've used this product for two projects now. And I am a contractor so I've use many leveling systems over the years, but this one seems to work the best. Do note that it will only correct up to about an 1/8"-3/16". Also you will still need to use spacers on larger tiles on the wall. I do admit that it definitely makes the projects much more level and save you quite a bit of time.

Just used this product for the first time and am VERY IMPRESSED! Lippage was always a concern and slowed my progress in tiling, NO MORE, job went much faster and with MUCH LESS STRESS!! I don't do tile every day, and used to turn away large jobs because of the lippage issue, that is a thing of the past. Love these things! Here's a photo of the start of the job.

DIYer.... love home projects. First attempt at porcelain LFT and really want the project to turn out right. Did alot of research and glad I did because I knew nothing about "lippage". Decided to purchase Rubi anti lippage leveling system, basement bathroom is the trial run. Super easy to use, exactly how it's shown in the home depot video. All tiles are leveled. WORTH THE INVESTMENT!!!!. Highly recommend!!

OK, I'm not a tile pro, but have done my share of bathroom wall tile. Finally working on floors and wanted to ensure the tile was level and without lippage (I've seen some cheap/fast jobs that you could trip over the edges it was so bad). I've seen several pro systems that seemed expensive or used a special tool. This Rigid LevelMax setup seemed dead nuts simple and priced right for the DIY crowd. I picked up a set of the reusable top "cones" and one package of the "brick" and one package of the "flat" sacrificial stems. It took me a couple of tiles to get the hang of it AND remember to install them while placing the tiles. I did overtighten one and snapped the white stem off. The rest of them tightened up and really made the tiles (large 12x24) look nice and even. I was really happy with my work. That is until I had to remove them. Watching the Rigid video it appears you can simply kick them away. I don't know if I had excessive mortar in the grout joints or at 49 I just don't kick like I used to, but the first few I kicked took my like four or five tries to break. I even had two break off leaving white plastic above the grout line (didn't break at the score). I finally figured out the tricks to this though. I went around and gave each cone a little more twist (to prevent flexing of the white threaded shaft) and then when I kicked them free I kicked them in line with the grout line, not against them, then the rest all broke with just one or two kicks. All in all I will use them again and was happy with the results, just had a bit of a first time learning curve is all.
