This is a well made mortar hoe. The handle appears to be made from hickory and is not the cheap hardwoods found in other handles. They applied a good coat of varnish to the handle. The steel blade is foreign made; however, the hoe is assembled in the U.S.A. The shaft is securely attached to the hardwood handle.
A mortar hoe is essential when it comes to mixing dry goods with liquid. The holes allow material to flow through and mix more evenly and in less time. Yes, you can double the use of this tool as a regular hoe as well.
Good quality tool!
Durable, Functionality, Great Quality, Multi Use, Strong
Don't ever again use a shovel to mix mortar, concrete, or other cement products in your wheelbarrow. I used to do it that way and it would break my back. This hoe makes it easy to pull and push the dry mix with the water and takes very little effort, because the surface area is so small compared to a shovel with all that surface area and resistance, plus having to bend over. Just rake the mix around leisurely and it will be done in the same amount of time or less and you won't be tired. The holes help material mix and pass through with less drag, so even less effort is needed. The forged head and long hardwood handle should last a long time especially if you hose it off after each use and store it inside. Mine says it was assembled in the US from foreign components. I prefer American products but that is still ok in my book compared to 100% imported.
The 7 inch Forged Gooseneck Mortar Hoe works so well. It mixes up the mortar in a wheel barrow so easy. It is made of good material and is manufactured very well. I also use it in the garden to hoe out grass. It is very sharp. The value of this superior tool makes it a great tool in my shed. We were putting up a new mail box that has to have mortar and with out this hose it would have been very hard. This is a great hoe.
Durable, Functionality, Great Quality, Multi Use, Sharp
This is a well made tool for working in the garden. I actually really like the the circle openings that are cut into the blade. It was easier to get through the dirt. It is lightweight and well balanced. The handle is at a perfect length for a person of either 5 ft tall or 6 ft tall. The blade is sharp and seems to get through the dirt without much added effort.
If there was one thing that I thought that could 'better' this implement - it would be the addition of a gripping area at the handling edge of the Hoe. When wearing gardening gloves, depending on which type I chose to wear, my hands slipped a bit with the smooth cloth gloves. Rubber backed gloves however did not slip as much. But if the grip was built in, it would be an issue that I would not have to worry about at all.
Durable, Easy to Clean, Functionality, Great Quality, Good Shape, Sharp, Strong, circle holes cut into blade, blade cuts into the dirt with ease
no non slip grip

I’m a professional contractor- my mason was extremely disappointed in the quality of this hoe when I showed up, but Home Depot was the closest store to the job. Will be looking to replace it with something sturdier. Big box stores buying all this China stuff is not good, and it wasn’t cheap.

I used this to mix concrete in the wheelbarrow. Hands down a better solution than a shovel. Worth every penny in labor saved. High quality tool and efficient for what I was using it for. I only wish I had bought it sooner.
