Always watch for leaks
Purchased the fridge brand new. Out of fear of leaking we never hooked up the water supply line. Yesterday I hooked up the water and this morning I woke up to water pouring out of the ice dispenser. Inside the fridge there are frozen water trails and blocks from it pooling. Water was flooding my basement and soaked the surrounding areas wood flooring, which is now buckling.     The fridge was delivered and installed yesterday, so we're still quite fresh. It cooled very quickly. It was easy to adjust temperatures and drawers/shelves as needed. I love that I can view the interior temperatures on the exterior display. The space inside is quite well organized and has plenty of room for what my household needs. I love the smaller size of the overall fridge. It takes us less space than my previous fridge and I love that.

        Delivered about 6 weeks ago. Sleek and sophisticated! Shallow depth makes it unobtrusive in kitchen. Keeps vegetables and fruit longer. Stainless is easy to keep clean. Still have a 12 yr old Samsung which works great! Had them haul away a Frigidaire Gallery which was only 7 yrs old!!!

        The refrigerator is absolutely beautiful. The counter depth design is perfect. It doesn't stick out into the walkway and is so sleek! I was amazed at how much space is it has. I changed from a 26cu ft Side by Side to this 21.5 unit and have plenty of space inside. This was the only concern I had when I purchased it. Delivery was fast and the fridge cooled down and was ready to use within a few hours. We love being able to see what the temperature is in the freezer thru the door. It was a great decision to buy this unit.

        awesome fridge!
        This fridge is really good. Even though it is a counter depth, it is plenty big for our family of 4. The use of space inside is laid out well. Absolutely love the showcase door. The icemaker works well, and water comes out of the dispenser fast. Last but not least , this is a quiet fridge. This was important for us and we had read other reviews say the same.

            fridge looks great, just don’t plug it in. 3 years old and its garbage. fridge is either not cold enough and food spoils (especially in bins) or everything freezes, there is no control over the temperature - it currently reads +6 for fridge, but everything us once again frozen! the freezer reads -23, which is way too cold, but it wont budge, then the fridge will randomly read -7! absolutely unacceptable. i am not a refrigerator repairman, and do not want to employ one full time to keep this appliance functioning.

              DO NOT buy this model. The door is too thin to hold cold and milk spoils quickly in the front case. The ice maker is notorious for failure. My version failed to a non-repairable state after a little more than a year. True trash. Run away.

                    Buyer Beware. This Side by Side is nothing but problems. We purchased it new Sept 2016. Within one month, had to get it looked at because ice maker stopped working. Under warranty, had a repair guy come out. After an hour or so, verdict was to replace the freezer door. There is a known design defect with the water line that causes the line to freeze up. After a few weeks, got the door replaced. Because of the issue, purchased an extended warranty for one year "just in case". Figured, with no other issues, let that expire about Sept 2018. No more issue till spring 2019. Motor in door underneath ice maker keep turning. Would no turn off by pressing "Off" on ice maker. Even shutting power off to refrig. I think I finally got it to stop turning after resetting the ice maker. Purchased repair manual. Worthless on any possible solution. Issue seemed to have resolved itself. Possibly by the resetting? Received invite about a month or so ago to purchase extended warranty again. Didn't think I needed it. Guess what, the same ice maker issue is back again today - Jan 9, 2020. B roke the little plastic ice maker cover clip on door while getting to the reset button again. And you cant get a replaced plastic inside door panel. Will have to duck tape the cover. Oh, and the offer for an extended warranty expired 7 days ago? Really!! Wife loves the layout, but I hate the constant issues. For a 2 Grand refrig/freezer I've had more problems with this "new" refrig/freezer, than the free 20+ year old Kenmore my old neighbor gave us. Samsung makes some good products, but this is just not one of them. Beware.

                            A lot of good design features, but don’t care much for the door handles, and find we’re constantly opening the inner case when we want the show case, and vice versa. The freezer also tends to frost and haven’t identified the cause for that yet.

                              We regret making our Samsung refrigerator purchase as there is a continuous ice build up behind the back panel of the refrigerator compartment which ultimately causes the condenser fan to stop spinning. This causes the refrigerator temp to climb, which is undesirable for safe food storage.
